OK, I was just wondering what everyone thought of the Olympic Opening Cermony?

And in case you were wondering, yes, I think that the reason the flame took so long to ascend was that something stuffed up. Not our finest hour, but the idea was right and it stiff was pretty spectacular.

So on a scale of 1 - 10? And how did it compare? I still rate Bareclonas as the best I've seen, but I'm quite proud of my country today.

I wasn't looking forward to to it, but I saw some beach Volleyball and quite enjoyed watching that. I mean, it bored the shit out of me but I enjoyed "watching" that.

I don't know... I'm looking forward to the swimming because if all goes well we could get between 6 and 8 gold in the pool. I don't find it exciting, but it sure is nice to win medals.

I guess I'm looking forward to anything that will provide us with medals. Cycling, equestrian, shooting and all that.

But Athletics is my thing. I'm like 2nd only to Michael Johnson in the 400, and I said to Maurice, "Maruice... I'm not going to go to the olympics and I'll let you have all the records. We both know who'd win out of us, and I don't need the glory. I'll step aside and let you win the 100m." He thanked me. But seriously, I'm pretty fast at everything from 100m to 5000m, so I'm looking forward to that. But especially the 100 meters.

BTW, as I write this, Ian thourp Just won Our first gold in world record time for the 400 meters! Go Aussie!

I love the Olympics! I enjoyed the Opening Ceremonies! Favorite part is watching the athletes come in. How thrilling that must be for them!! At least an 8. I think it will be hard to top the Barcelona Games with the archer lighting the Cauldron.

I love watching as much as I can. My favorites will be the women's bball. I've met the US coach several times (I have season tickets to tthe team she wil be coaching next year) and regularly chat with a Canadian player on a sports board.

I would watch the Olympics but they always screw over the 'minor' events the ones i love with about a 5 minutes overview total or things like the wieghts, shotput, javeline, hammer throow, the interesting events to me.

I am sorry but 3 days to cover a 100 meter foot race is not my idea of enterttaining, or 2 days to swim, boring. I think the stations that cover the olympics should each take a certain number of events and focus on those so that ppl like me are not left out.

but anyways enough of my ranting
