Hello, I would like to introduce myself. I am a nineteen year old man from central Pennsylvania. My girlfriend, of ten months, and I seperated two months ago. She taught me so much more than I could possibly have imagined before I layed eyes upon her. She brought about the gentleman, the friend, the gentle spirit, open mind, and romantic person I am now. We both agreed to move forward, seperately, and better ourselves and our lives in ways that we couldn't together. She was an awakening experience for me.
Now, moving forward, I feel somewhat lonely on the path that I walk. I've always kept friends close, but I have never been able to confide in them all of who I am. I came here, to the Lit board, hoping to become a more wise and to meet new people. I do think I am more wise, but I know that a person can only truely learn what their life is worth by spending their time learning and growing with another person. So I am posting this message with the hope that someone, no matter what their wisdom or experience, may be so kind as to join me as a friend, confidant, or companion on this long walk through life. I insist that anyone who may be interested should reply. It is not always what you know, or what you can bring, which makes you a good person to grow with. The important thing is what you are willing to share and learn, and how you are willing to grow.
I am 5' 10" tall, with rich brown eyes and dark brown medium length hair. I am atheletic, play tennis, and I am a former swimmer. I enjoy the outdoors, running, hiking, parks, and I like to feel good about myself. So I make honest attempts to eat healthy, stay flexible and toned, and treat my body with respect. I like sandwiches, seafood, and trying different foods when I have the opportunity.
In my spare time I like to read books about sociology, cooking, mathematics, and engineering. The latter two are my dominating hobbies. I enjoy motorsports of all kinds, and prefer to be well read and knowledgable about how an object works. Even though I can get dirty when I work on a project, I like to dress nice and wear look good when I'm out and about. I work part time, after classes, as a kindergarten aide for children from ages three to eight who need to wait for their parents. I really enjoy the children, and they always make me laugh and smile. Everyone I work with suggests I look into a career as a teacher.
I think that to allow unnecessary stress to enter your life is to sabotage yourself. So I try to stay calm and unworried. When others are concerned and worried about issues in their lives I like to offer the truest and most wise advice that I can offer as a friend. I have been referred to, by some, as an "old soul" because of my calm demeanor. However, I am, at heart, an emotional and compassionate person.
I sometimes go out with friends to clubs, and occassionally to parties. I do not drink, and I do not smoke, and I have only experimented with marijuana once a long time ago. I like to eat healthy, practice balance and flexibility exercises, and to give massages. I have to laugh when I mention massages, as I can always remember my friend who almost falls asleep everytime.
I am a very honest and truthful person, and I am ready to be the person I was once afraid to express. I have a good sense of humor and I enjoy all types of films. I am always open to the newest experiences and creative ideas. Any person who I invite to walk with me must be honest. I have not, and I will not judge any person on what actions they have taken. I do not get hung up on issues either. My ex-girlfriend was a wonderful woman, and many years my senior. Too often people are picky over details and titles that should never effect a friendship or relationship.
I am looking for someone who shares similar desires to be healthy, flow along with life, and have fun. She may not share the same hobbies as me, and that is good. I would rather be introduced to ideas, new and wonderful, through someone who is equally new and wonderful. I seek someone with energy, vibrant or even untapped, who likes to get out and experience new things.

That picture isn't very good, I think. It was taken by disposable camera, after a haircut, while I was jogging through a park. So many things went wrong
