I apologize at the outset of this letter for it being necessary. I have sent you two private posts, both of which have gone unread.

I have attempted in each of those letters to, first apologize for my mistake, and second, to ask that WE fix it (I cannot edit the site, that is your dept.)

The sum of the situation is this. I submitted a story that had repeat paragraphs in it, due to some inattention to detail when I was creating the file for submission. You, correctly, rejected the story, citing the repetitous paragraphs.

When I checked my file copy, the file I THOUGHT I submitted, I could not find my error. Had I checked the file I submitted, like I should have, I'd have caught the problem.

I sent the first PM to you when I discovered my mistake. It went unread. After a couple of weeks and some readers pointing out the mistake, I sent another. It has gone unread.

Laurel, I ask, without any intended sarcasm, is it more important for you to thumb your nose at me for my "arrogance" in telling you I could not find the mistake, or for US to fix the problem? I suggest the latter.

If you will PM me, I will give you the details of how WE can fix this goof. I confess before all that I made the mistake. I am asking for a chance to fix the goof for the benefit of our readers, and of course the standing of Literotica.

As other author's here will tell you...
submit the story again... same title and everything however in the title put "REVISION" or "RESUBMISSION" that is the fastest and less... vocal way of having your story fixed.

Hope this helps.

Also, keep in mind that things can go wrong. i've submitted a story a few times now, had it appear on my pending list, then had it disappear. It's like magic.

Same story, no fancy formatting or anything, and it's just gone.

Same thing has happened to a few PMs. They get sent, then just never show up. A little patience and understanding goes a long way.

The manager of this site probably gets 200 PMs/emails per day. I am amazed that they ever respond.

Carefull how you deal with people who buy electrons by the barrel. ;)

I've gotten the impression that Laurel and Manu don't respond to many emails personally. They get a great number of them, as there are many users on the board. I sincerely doubt that they are deliberately thumbing their noses at you; I've met similar silence to missives that expressed nothing but fervent (and polite) admiration for their efforts. And, as others have kindly pointed out, there is a simple solution to your problem that does not require any action on their part.

Believe me I understand the vagaries of the computer world. However when I say that both PM's went unread, I'd checked the reader notification block on both. I am reasonably sure she got them.

If anyone takes offense at the open letter, that was not my intent. To quote Doc Holiday, "It is never my intention to offend." I simply saw a log jam that was there for over a month.

To both of you, thanks.

Also, I think they are quite overwhelmed right now, between the contests and the end of the year awards... things have been going verrrrrrrry sloooooow... just so you know... :)

Hi Slip,

I think Elizabeth T gave you the correct approach. I'm not sure what you hoped to accomplish, but likely any embarrassment accrues to yourself.

When there's a problem with a story, either resubmit and ask for deletion, or resubmit, labelled exactly as before plus "edited" and a note asking for replacement.

When you have a problem, try asking some 'regulars' about it, i.e., "what do I do?" not _Laurel, surely you want to save Lit's reputation, by fixing my problem._

This is my unofficial, personal opinion, but based on some years experience.

Been there, done that, without success. If you are offended by my post, I again apologize.

And there was no attempt to attack Laurel's lit rep. That is a cheap shot.
