smiles and glances at you occasionally...

Hi to all,
It's another Saturday night,
and I'm just checking in to see how
everyone's doing,
and to put out some fresh flowers.

:rose: .....................:rose: ......................:rose:

Looks like the food supply is getting low.
And I guess we could reorder the booze as well.

I've been off on the campaign trail,
but thinking of you all,
looking forward to those warm
spring days when we can
sit out on the deck and get some sun on our faces,
maybe even get an all over tan on a good day.

Best wishes . . . hope to see you all again soon.

Hey TOG!

Sunday late afternoon here!

Good to see you around here.
My New Year's been ... interesting ... to say the least.

A case of "things can only get better" I'm afraid, but as ever I keep going.

I agree could use more drinks and certainly more food around here, although Henry's pastries and coffee are all this girl needs to keep her happy!

Take care of yourself!

Hey Mari.
Always nice to see you here.
Hope that the challenges of your life
bring to you the strengths you need
to write a new chapter.

And, surely you should know
that anytime you need
a gentle respite,
The Blue Moon Cafe
and Mari's Nest
await you longingly.

MMMMMMmmmm... yes I do TOG.
- Home from home!

Thank you for your kind wishes.
I'm doing OK.
I'm too "difficult" to give in to life's trials!

*smiles*

Nice to have your company again!

Opening my book i start to read and occasionally take a few sips of my coffee.....

as fresh coffee brews and another batch of pastries bake i change the tune on the jukebox and sit down with a nice cold glass of orange juice.

Good evening, Mooners.
After a tiring bit of campaigning
for my favorite former Vermont Governor,
I'm back to check on the status of life
at The Blue Moon Cafe.

Hmmmmm, flowers look a bit old . . .
:rose: ..............:rose: .....................:rose:
That's better. And I can smell the coffee.
Hell, even Howard can smell the coffee now.

I'm wondering if there are any others here
who have thought of doing any collaborative writing.
Have you ever tried it? How has it worked out?
Do you have a yen to, but have never had the opportunity?

And what else is on your minds these days?

I can smell spring in the air. :rose:
I went out this morning and snipped
some long stalks of forsythia to bring inside.
I've always loved those early harbingers of spring,
the bright yellow forsythia,
and those lovely bursts of daffodils.

Of course, we still have six or eight inches of
heavy thick frozen slush and snow on the ground,
and I may be jumping the gun here.
Some of our worst storms ever have come in
the middle of March (beware the Ides),
but I want it to be spring,
so humor me.

   to all you Mooners . . .

Hiya TOG!

I'd love to do some collaborative writing.
Much of this kind of writing from different points of view I think reads very well!
Have you ever read "The Collector" by John Fowles?
The only published example I've seen of that form of writing.
VERY effective.
Always had a "yen" to produce something of that style.

Nice to be around the ole place again.
I love spring ... and it's well on the way!

Hey, Mari.
I can't believe how the time has
been flying by. I was sick for
a few days, but it's been weeks
since I got here.

I haven't read "The Collector"
but the idea of collaboration
fascinates me, both because
it would be very challenging
to adapt to,
and becasue the result could be extraordinary.

This place looks kinda dusty . . .

Rough week, last week.
Life is precious, don't let anyone cheapen it.
It can be gone in a flash, without warning,
without rhyme or reason.

A week ago, I got one of those dreaded
middle of the night calls from my son.
It often can mean a minor brush with the law
over some traffic infraction or another.
Police these days love to pull over
a car full of teenagers and harass them
til they figure out whether the fishing is good or not.

This one was starkly different.
My son's best friend had borrowed his car
without any explanation,
totalled it a mile down the road,
and died on the scene.

This was a good kid, a great kid,
the kind you were always happy
to see your kids hanging out with,
bright, loving, communicative, always smiling,
sincerely smiling.

We think, looking back at the facts,
that he was seeeking better reception
on his cell phone, and for a few seconds
took his eyes off the unfamiliar road.
Gone...........................

:rose: ....................:rose: ........................:rose: R.I.P.

It's snowing - it's snowing.
One more chance at winter this year.
And then this weekend, spring officially arrives.

Hurray!

Time for sweeping out the accumulated dust
of a year gone by,
and sprucing things up
for the year to come.

I'm hoping to have a garden growing out back,
for picking some fresh flowers for the tables,
and, of course, veggies for the kitchen.
And we'll move the hot tub out to the garden
for those full moon nights of June, July, August and September.

I've only just seen this post TOG.
I'm so sorry that such a tragedy has touched you and yours.
Such a loss ... sometimes things just don't make sense.

Life is indeed precious.

{{{{loving huggle}}}}

Take care ... every day we have is a blessing.
