They do come in threes!

edited to clarify...the butt crack is NOT wearing the sunglasses.

math girl

I am horribly dissapointed. As you know....:

axis 12/bl ~ equals .23.

taking .23 sx(s+g/l) = orgasm.

Suggest you get your pachyderm poot together.

Now we see the real reason why the USSR beat the USA (usa, usa) in almost every aspect of the space race in the 50's and 60's. Yankees can only do one math at a time. The Ruskie (zapruski) must have used arithmetic instead.

As we all know one of the other reasons was that they didn't have to depend on kidnaping their rocket scientists from post-war Germany they just absorbed half of the country.

Which inevitably leads us to the question of why is kidnaping spelled with only one 'p'?

Did someone, err, maybe, kidnap it, perhaps?

I can hear the conversation now...

"We have your p. If you ever want to see it alive again, send us your rocket scientists and other geekoidial mathmaticians. If we don't hear from you within 24 hours, you will find nothing but his pocket protector."

Oh, should that be ocket rotector?

Two P or not two P

That is the question!

In Britain we do spell kidnapping with a double p.

Thanks, dear, I needed that. I'll be visiting mum for the weekend, and can't log in, so I have to reach my goal in LESS than three days now!

Not many more. All you need is someone to annoy you and you'll get there easily.

So, you're saying the Atlantic is full of Ps?

Actually, I think we do, in the U.S., too. It depends on your outlook and where you live (and your schooling).

Well thank f*ck for that. I've only ever seen it spelled with one 'p'. Which probably goes to prove I've never read R.L.Stephenson. (I've never been much interested in locomotives anyway)

One entry found for kidnap.

Main Entry: kid·nap
Pronunciation: 'kid-"nap
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -napped or kid·naped
/-"napt/; -nap·ping or -nap·ing

Etymology: probably back-formation from kidnapper, from kid + obsolete napper thief

Date: 1682: to seize and detain or carry away by unlawful force or fraud and often with a demand for ransom

- kid·nap·pee or kid·nap·ee /"kid-"na-'pE/ noun
- kid·nap·per or kid·nap·er noun

Well, as far as the "online" Websters is concerned, it seems either spelling is correct.

It doesn't specify geographical location (Old English or American version Websters), or if it even makes a difference.
