I dunno? I didn't really go overly much, it's my brother that's really into it. He was even the senenshal (SP?) of our area for a whiles, until they overthrew him for no reason whatsoever. I went to a couple events, but didn't have the time or money to get involved in the fighting. I can't recall what the name of the one event I went to was, but it was a day of classes. I learned about sufi poetry, how to build a pavilion, sword play, and more.. went to the after party for a bit, but we had a long drive home, so couldn't stay long.

Every kingdom has an annual collegium of various non-fighter stuff. That's probably what you went to. Most events have classes, heavy and light weapon fighting, thrown weapons, archery, sometimes equestrian stuff, children's classes, feast, court if there are royals... all sorts of goodies.

Nobody ever said you had to get into the fighting, either. Go for heraldry instead.

i know a couple of men that are bardic types. Very cool people!

One of the bards in the area has consented to give my 5 year old vocal lessons, so that she can be a bard when she grows up, too.

That's cool Send them my way too, that's the reason I didn't pursue the bardic way.. I have no vocal talent to speak of (No pun intended of course)

Oh feh. Don't have to be vocal to be a bardic type. You can learn to play instruments, too. Give those digits a workout.

Oh, I know a couple instruments.. But let's just leave it at "I'm not musically inclined" I'd be more of a story teller type bard if anything *chuckle*

But I don't associate with the local group here.. they were all very childish and backstabbers to boot.. Didn't like them, especially after they got rid of my brother.
