OOC: Yes, another damn medieval thread

Okay, I've been playing a lot of video games lately like Dragon Warrior and Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar. As such, I'd like to get a thread started that has a similar flavor.

A couple guidelines: No power trips. Playing gods is boring.

Also, no killing other players' characters. Shit like that WILL get you banned from the thread, and any future posts to it will be ignored.

Third, stay in character. Character's should have definate personalities, and any action too out of the ordinary for a character's developed personality and outlook should (read: will) have consequences, most likely negative.

If I must, I'm willing to take on the role of administrator. I'd also like to keep the number of participants to a maximum of four, including myself.

Could you perhaps give us something of a setting or a snippit of a history to help us come up with appropriate characters?

Well, pretty much anything goes, really, as long as the character isn't an evil asshole (being evil's fine, just don't be a moron about it) or a god. Warriors, sorcerers, thieves, priests, bards, monks, druids, barbarians, elementalists, paladins, bounty hunters, rangers, -even psionicists- are all fair game.

I might draw up a map if it looks like things are going to take off. There won't be any official plot -at least initially- so characters will be able to take off in pretty much whatever direction they want. Thre won't be any official history either. If history ever becomes important, anything you can come up with should be fine.

I'm intrested if you want like a little orphan theif, female.

Someone endearingly grubby who "finds" things, but is quite helpful at odd moments. Who plays dumb until she needs to have a flash of insight. Slightly disrespectful.

"Rags" or "Pockets" seem like good names. Let me know.

sounds like a gully dwarf (about the character posted above)

sounds like fun I tend to be a cleric just begining to train and explore her powers

Here's a character in an official form and everything!

Name: Faustus Lee
Gender:Male
Age: 35
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Brengan
Occupation: "Master of Crafts"

Description: Faustus is by medieval standards; a tall middle aged man. He stands at a muscular 5'10" with greying black hair and blue eyes. His skin is a dark suntanned color and worn from years of wear and travails. He usually wears tough working clothes with a large belt, with all sorts of tools and pouches hanging from it.

Background: Carpenter, Stonemason, Blacksmith, Tailor, these four are not even a suitable beginning of a list of titles Faustus Lee has held. Throughout his long life he has seen and done much, the knights may get the glory and the parades, but his is the satisfaction of having made their armor and sword (and very likely having designed the tower the evil sorcerer trapped the knight's princess). He fufills his contracts to perfection, giving him a reputation as a master across the land. Nobody is certain where he was educated or how he could possibly know so much. He is no warrior though, while strong, wise, and deft he is a man of peace and would never raise his hand in anger or violence. His work is even grudgingly recognized by the Dwarves as that of a master, and it is rumored that he seeks a way to prolong his lifespan so he might continue his work.

Sorry for letting this stagnate for so long, I've been kinda busy.

Anyway, I'll see if I can't get the main thread up soon. For the record, my character will be a warrior who seeks to blend several types of martial arts (both armed and unarmed) into his own style.

Name: Nalia
Race: Avariel
Eyes: Violet
Hair: Silvery Red
Height: 5'6
Occupations: Fighter/Mage
INFO: Nalia is a member of the winged elf race known as the avariel. She is quiet and speaks little of her own race. She has lived outside of her homeland most of her life. Her history is shrouded, yet she is kind and helps those she is able to. However she always keeps herself emotionally blocked off from others.

Let me know if there is a problem

Okay, it appears we have our players. As such, any posts in the main thread by anyone other than myself, Lady_Siren, PoliteSuccubus, and IDreamofBunnies (and possibly intriguess) will be ignored.

Also, here's the information on my character:

Name: Kokida
Age: 22
Sex: Male
Race: Unknown, presumably human.
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 168 lbs
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Grey
Professions: Soldier, warrior, mercenary, and student of martial arts. Currently unemployed.

Kokida is lean and somewhat muscular. His skin is naturally a tan color, and has an odd bluish tint in certain light. His hair is chin length and straight. His features are slighty exotic and sinister, though he isn't evil.

He aspires to perfect his own type of fighting style, and constantly seeks to test his skill and strength against other warriors. He usually speaks in short, direct sentances with a slight, unplaceable accent.

He usually carries a spear and a long dagger, and wears a light, flexible armor made of small metal plates strapped together. He is skilled with most weapons, and in unarmed combat as well. He is strong and quick, and extremely healthy.

Rags, petty theif
Age: Somewhere between 10 and 12, very small
Sex: Hard to tell as she acts very tomboyish for survial reasons, but underneth all of that is a girl.
Race: Human, but with a mix of something else in her bloodline (maybe 1/4 elf)
Height/Weight: Just shy of four foot, about 60 wiry, scrawny pounds.
Eye/Hair: Brown with gold flecks and brown
Profession: Tour guide, Chimmeny Sweep, rag picker and finder of lost objects!

(Think Mouse in LadyHawke, but a girl and much younger)

Rags is very flexiable and very good at getting into and out of small places like chimmey flues and holes in the wall. She wears a collection of rags tied into layers of knots and pockets and hideing places so even if she is searched she still has some items stashed about her person. She is so smooth she can cut the silver buckles off a lords boot as she licks it.

She can remain still for hours, and has an affinity to not being noticed and overhearing things she shouldn't.

Although she is so grimy that a month of baths wouldn't get all of it off her skin she is very particular about not smelling badly and washes the pertintent bits daily. Her hair is matted into short dreadlocks, but clean if soot stained.

Underfed and underdelveloped she has a great sense of personal welfare and will almost always tend to her personal saftey frist. However, she has been known to come back when the danger is past and help those in need.

"I found a key, jus' laying about, and thought "Wouldn't it be nice to share this with me friend in the lock up?""

Quick question.....

When do we start and what will it be called? So I know where and when to look for it!

It will be called 'Another damn medieval thread' unless somebody has a beter title. I attempted to get it started earlier today, but my browser started giving me crap, so I lost it. I'll try to get it up soon.

I just graduated this weekend so my time has been at a premium however I do use th e-mail alerts and usually am good about trying to post daily.

So my character

Name: Violet
Gender: Female
Race: Mutated humanoid
Eyes: Plum
Hair: Silver/lavender
Height: 5'2"
Skin: Faintly lilac, tends to glow when she is actively healing.

Occupations: Artist/ Healer/ Uncertain telempathic ability
INFO: Enjoys mixing paints, pigments, and dyes as much as natural herbs, spices, potions, and poltices. Sews wounds as easily as she sews clothing. Is just begining to uncover her innate ability to accelerate healing. Violet is usually garbed in long flowing garments that allow her freedom of movement and storage space for her various artist and medical tools. She invariable dyes/paints/embroiders her clothing until it is saturated with color.

History: Sort of an outcast as she was the only survivor of a tornado. People come ot her for help and she lives on outskirts. Violet is looking for a place to fit in and often will move from one place to the next with no reason or notice. She often sells her garment once it is covered and then leaves, as if shedding her skin before she leaves. Places she has left are invariably both glad and sad that she has left. She may be sought after by those seeking to use/abuse/misuse her powers.
