I'm looking to start a thread in ancient rome. Gladiators, pleasure slaves, emperors, etc. If it could have happened in rome, it goes.

Looking for dedicated good writers, male and female
please PM me, or post your interest here, if I get a good response, I'll start the IC thread.

As in rome, beating of a slave, was considered a punishable offense, and a master could suffer murder charges for the death of a slave.
the rules can be bent a little to allow a little non consent, but please no extreme violence, or rape. I really don't want to RP a trial...lol
as it is Rome, Insest is a go, especially among the royal family. That is if we don't bother anyone that does wish to play.

I intended it to focus mainly on the slave interaction whether it be be between, gladiator and pleasure slave, or slave and master, but there can also be stuff going on outside this, I.E. the emperor's interactions with people etc.
The major settings would be a gladiatorial arena, think coliseum etc. As this is fiction, the arena will be known only as the circus, or the pit to the gladiators. So it isn't actually the Sircus maximus or coliseum.
This takes place during the reign of the made up emperor tyfus (if there was such an emperor, this is not he)

Maybe a young, somewhat innocent wife of a senator. The senator is three times her age, too old to really be her husband, but too powerful for her family not to want to ally with him.

She is lovely and graceful, but desperately lonely and with a blossoming sexuality that her aged husband can't fufill. perhaps she could fall into an ill fated love affair with someone she shouldn't be with. falling in love with a slave, or a soldier.

Yes, I plan to play a gladiator, and probably some of the other rolls if we don't get anyone else, but I'm sure someone will step forward.
We decided that the husband is a distant relative of the emperor, a drunkerd

I plan to be the gladiator, slightly moddeled after sparticus, in the sense of if anyone's seen the movie, when he is offered the female for winning a match, and he refuses her, one who does not conform to the norms.

I wasn't refering to rejecting your character. I am refering to the scene in the movie, where Sparticus is offered a pleasure slave for his victory in the arena

Dessa wife of Cassian (a distant cousin of the emperor)

Dessa is the young wife of Cassian. Cassian is a drunkard and a ne'er do well. He lives off the fortunes and good will of his family. His family brokered the marriage to Dessa, hoping a young wife would keep him home from his gambling and drinking. He is fast approaching seventy. He has little interest in home and hearth.

Dessa is a romantic. She grew up on tales of romance and heroism. This marriage has been a bitter disappointment to her. She is wistful and longing.

She has fair skin and deep brown eyes, long dark hair worn soft curls around her face. She is elegant and gracious.... but there is more to her than that. It just hasn't been discovered yet.

If there is such a role, I'll play the tournement-organizer in the emperor's service. The one that has to invent and organise the games that have to be each time a little bit more spectacular that the last ones, as the plebs has to be kept calm and satisfied ('Bread & Games') for not rising up against the throne of Rome.
I was thinking too that The_gladiator could play like a 'champion of the arena' kind of gladiator, so the games will be organised to his ever-growing fame, until the day he meets a stronger or luckier one of course
And to Caela, I will be in need of slave I can trust, so if you are still for sale, I'll buy you, but only if none of my superiors do want you, because Rome is a dangerous place to offend a higher-ranked !!

This sounds like a brilliant idea. I'd like to play two characters if at all possible.

Gaius is the Emperor's nephew, adopted son and heir. He is a hedonist, caring for little more than a good feast, a good fuck and a good fight to watch. His skills lie in politics and charm. He has crafted and schemed his way to perhaps the most enviable position in Rome.

Drusus is Gaius' twin brother. Unlike his brother he has never cared for the lifestyle of royalty and has spent most of his adult life as a general in the army. He has recently returned to Rome after an impressive military victory and is looking towards leaving military life behind.

Piraxus are a young gladiator, ex soldier that have just arrived to the city. He are merely 22 years old and have only been in 2 gladiator fights. Both which he easily won. He are an expert swordsman with his Gladius. He are confident in his skill but have realised he might get killed and resigned to that. He have dark brown hair and are 6'1 feet tall and quite muscular with grey eyes.
