Characters
The Story: Familiar with the movie "I Am Legend"? Imagine something similar taking place in San Francisco in 2024:
- In early 2021, after a decade of successful testing on humans, ACV -- the Anti-Cancer Vaccine, which prevented several forms of cancer -- was approved by the FDC.
- Mass distribution began weeks later.
- By summer of 2023, hundreds of millions of people across the US and 22 other countries had been vaccinated.
- In late summer of 2024, a revolutionary new vaccine for fighting influenza began distribution.
- Little could anyone know that ACV and this new flu vaccine were incompatible.
- The first cases of the impending disaster were discovered in San Francisco in late November, just after Thanksgiving Day.
- The CDC only made the connection between the two vaccines on December 1st.
- But by December 3, the entire Bay Area was exploding in mayhem as thousands, then tens of thousands of people went made with the disease.
- In the end, more than 50% of those who had gotten both vaccines would suffer a violent mania that was similar to yet far more violent than rabies.
- Those affected attacked other people, biting and ripping at them, killing them, and then eating on them.
- Many of the survivors hoped that the government, military, and other authorities would save the day. But these groups of people had had a much higher percentage of vaccination, rendering their organizations some of the hardest hit populations of all.
