I would like to extend to everyone an invitation to join a new thread I am starting, There's something happening here...
The characters may be of any type at all likely to be found in a modern setting. I'm not giving out very many details as to the backstory of this thread, as much of the point of the thread will be the journey of discovery the characters make. There will be elements of the supernatural and science fiction, as well as conspiracies, violence, and yes, Virginia, there will very likely be sex.

Please post some sort of description of your character here, so that people can see the cast of characters in one place. I'm not going to be anal about OOC posts within the story thread, but I think it would likely be better if we tried to limit them.

Trisha Farin

Stats: 5' 5", slim, petite but a handful if riled. Red hair, green eyes and a temper.

Trisha was raised on the streets. Not that she didn't have a family but to say that her and her family did not get along would be an understatement. She has scars from knife fights from her youth and has been in and out of juvie so many times the cops there joke about putting a revolving door in for her. Now at 20 she is tired of fighting but doesnt know any other way of life. Her best and maybe only friend just died in the hospital and she is taking a good look at her life and where it is going. Or not going as the case may be.

Jeremy, once a snot-nosed college grad who thought he knew everything about the world, is slowly maturing into a man, and fighting it every step of the way. Handsome to a point, but no Brad Pitt, he has gained a certain reputation among the female employees at the Juvenile corrections institute he currently works at, although he wants nothing more than to be a bonified police officer at some point. Preferably homicide, like his father had been.
At this particular job, he has gotten to know a few of the street kids who go in and out of the place, including young miss Trisha Farin, whose constant though mild offenses have given her quite the reputation in Juvenile corrections. He likes her, but wishes a better life for her.
Intelligent, but a dreamer, and far too comfortable with his current life, Jeremy fears he may be stuck as a lifer in the Juvenile detention center.

Anybody else out there? I'm planning on waiting until Tuesday morning to start posting in the story thread. After all, there is some sort of gladiatorial combat being broadcast. Fascinating commercials, too!

There is no character too outre for this thread, friends. So long as it is someone who could reasonably exist in a modern setting, I can find a way to bring you in to the storyline.

At the beginning of the thread, John is just being released from prision after serving ten years for cat burglury. He is looking forward to getting a fresh start unfortunatly a lot of unsavory characters are looking to use Fourfingers for some jobs.

His family turned their backs on him long ago so he's got no one but himself. He doesn't resent them, he just figures if they don't want anything to do with him then he doesn't want anything to do with them. So as we begin, he's got no family, he's jobless, and homeless.

Yes, yes, you're all thinking: Holy shit, that's me! Well, I don't know about you, but he pretty much describes me. Now you're thinking: How does this fit into the story? Shit, I don't know - it's 3:00 AM, I'm out of cigs, tomorrow I gotta go see about finding a job at Macdonalds, I'm just sitting here scratching my nuts, and having some fun. Well, my imaginary friends think it's funny anyway... Anyway, try fitting that into the story!

This will be repeated as the first post in the main thread

Some background to tie threads between the characters currently present:

Trish's friend's name was Phyl, a hardcore punk lesbian. The circumstances around her death were somewhat mysterious. Trish found her in an alley near where they hung out, deathly pale, and unconscious. She couldn't rouse Phyll at all, so she called Jeremy, who is pretty much the only person at Juvie in whom Trish has any trust. Jeremy came out in his car, took one look at Phyl, and dialed 911. Trish was too scared at that point to protest.

Later that evening, Phyl was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of death was explained to Trish and Jeremy as acute leukemia... sort of. The doctor seemed a bit nervous, and wouldn't explain very much of anything, retreating behind a screen of serious medico-babble technical jargon. Jeremy has taken Trish to a coffeeshop, and they are sitting down, trying to understand what the hell just happened.

Johnny Fourfingers has been contacted by a 'fixer,' a go-between for people who want things done, and the people who actually get their hands dirty. Without naming names, the fixer, known to Johnny as Mule, tells him that a certain party will pay him $10,000 to retrieve a body from the hospital morgue, but it must go down immediately, before the corpse makes it to the autopsy table, tomorrow.

Alex, Jason, Ian... these gentlemen, in the loosest conceivable sense of the word, are roomates. Their rent is paid by the college, which is highly grateful to Ian for consenting to play for them. The trio have been friends for a very, very long time, and frequently cruise the streets looking for amusement.
