some of us are insatiably curious. so, if you wouldn't mind indulging this kender~like person, couldya tell me origin of your names and locaions and stuff? I know this has nothing to do with the board, but...


(it was the person whose locale says he's from the land of dorothy, Toto, and twisters whose name made me do it! I ust gotta know...)

Kender is a race of shory people. Ther rarely grow over 4 feet, (though 3'10 is the average). They are thin and childlike. they allways have an innocent, childish look, even when old and wrinkled, scarred, angry, or lined with worry. They are immune to fear, and thair curiosity constantly keeps them moving. (it's something called Wanderliust to their species). they have pointy ears like elves, they like to grow their hare long and tie it over their head in a topknot fasion. Kender who support this fasion (most of them) are very vain when it comes to the hair. They have long, deft fingers, and love to aquire things. They don't steal, because they don't know that they are taking things. All they know is when they reach into their many pouches or pockets, they find something that isn't theirs and ponder it for a few minutes. They love to tell stories about their past adventures, some of them true, some of them not, some of them a "little" bit exagerated. When they make a friend, they are very loyal. Untill then, (and even while), they try to inspect everything, cause they have a very short attention span and allways interested in whatever sparkles. People fear them, because they will rob you blind wityhout either of you noticing. There is a saying. One of the worst torcures for a kender is to leave him alone in an empty room. There is also another saying, one of the worst tourchers for anyone else is to lock them in an empty room with a Kender.

The name's Morgoth and I mean business. I was created at the beginning of time by Illuvatar. I was greatest among the Nine Anuir. I became evil and my heart completely burned away. I employed a few Lieutenants such as Sauron and Gothmog. I was without followers at the beginning. But I soon made use of a giant spider named Ungoliant and broke into the land of the Anuir. There Ungoliant sucked the life out of the trees of life. Then taking advantage of the darkness, I broke into Fin something's house(dont remember his name right now) and stole the works of his life, the Silmaril.
Then I returned to Middle- Earth and became the most powerful overlord the world had ever known. I took up residence in the fortress of Angband and breeded my armies. Then I waged a bunch of wars and won most of them. But then, when I was just about to take over, all of the Anuir attacked. I had not suspected them, so they overthrew me. They imprisoned me in a place outside of their land and gaurded it heavily. Then they banished my servants there. But now, I have slaughtered every last one of them and now I am returned, and nothing can stopme!

You're a psycho morgoth, and though you may be powerfull, you cannot alter the tides of fate. The pendulum swings both ways, but it forever swings. if you win and conquer all that is, you will eventually loose all you have achieved and balance will return.

Oh, in every culture in every world in every dimention, only a few men, even immortal omipresant, godly, allpowerfull men, have ever succeded in conquring the world. But ironically, those few that I can count on my hand, were the ONLY ones that never claimed they would do it. Anyone that claims something will happen doesn't diserve for it to happen. and nobody, nothing, and noone has to ability to alter fate, nomater how much power they accumulate.

Wrong my boy, I have the perfect plan, don't even say it, I am not like those loser super-villains or evil overlords. And I won't tell you the plan because you will use it. But I will give you one clue that you can ponder over. The plan includes Garbagemen, many many Garbagemen. And it's not them going on strike.

Cute arguement fellows, but not in the threading, Morgoth, you should know better, but all is forgiven. No fighting in the threads, come on everyone knows that...

Garret: Well my name is Gary, as was my dad's and his dad's. I come from a long line of Gary's and I hate it. Too many people make fun of the name, Gay, Farie, Harry. The list goes on and on folks.
So, one day I am on my computer, and I decide to make my name better, I liked the G in the front so I kept the G, but I needed a name that people would say, HEY THERE IS A NAME WITH A G IN THE FRONT THAT I LIKE (there aren't that many out there you know).
So, after a while, I come up with brilliance: Gertrude. (it was brilliance at the time, don't ask what i was smoking, I don't know) I use it for a couple of years, as passwords and on books I am writing and stuff, till a friend of mine points out Gertrude sucks, and is a girl's name.
So, back to the drawing board. I need another name, because I want to stat a role playing thread, I just saw. Star Trek, it's a thing, before I saw this one, about a year ago.
I needed a name, more importantly, I needed a Betazed name (remember the mind reading counselor on Star Trek The next Generation, she was betazed) I remember that one girl's name Deanna Troi. I say, hey perfect name, but that one is already picked. So, I say, well how about Garrana, EWWWW, no that is worse then Gertrude. I liked the Garr however, and then I played with it, a few different endings, see what I liked, and it hit, like a brick. Garret. Holy cow, that was a kick ass name, and original too.
Or so I thought, rented Sleepy Hollowa few days ago, seems there were VonGarret's back then, but still that name is out of use nowadays, and henceforth cool, right? WRONG
I read Stephen King's latest novel (500 pages, finished in three days, [insert applause here]thank you thank you) Heart's in Atlantis, and one of the characters is named Garret, he had a nickname though. So it isn't popular, and I guess I have that much.
So, when I finally got my ass around to coming here, I, being really bad at naming things (my cat's name is cat, my dog's name was Sabaka which is russian for Dog, and the only name I ever thought up was Gertrude) I stuck with the name Garret, seeing a person carrying a sword and being a badass I could call him Garret with pride and honor, well honor at least.
Thats my story. I do hope to name my kid Garret though, break that damn Gary habit. Maybe little Garret won't get teased as much.

I am not much but here goes!
I am a witch or practioner as I prefer to be called. Otherwise known as a wiccan. I love to play AD&D and all kinds of other roll playing games along with Masquerade, I have played these since I was to little to want to remember. I love the Kenders by the way they are great characters to play in a game, but warning never put them on a ship by themselves with a ball of string. I had a bad experience with that one. LOL
AS for my saying of course it means Hello or goodbye to one and all as for my name it was given to me by a friend. According to them I take chances and I am a lady most of the time so that takes care of that part. Origin well that depends on what time of my life your talking about. If its during the time that I am playing AD&D then its in the underdark with the Drow elves or on a mountain with the majestic dragons as great as they are. Otherwise I am the mother of four and a manager. So real life isn't as good as this so here I am writing to people all over the world about things I love to talk about and would love to live. Hope this is good enough oh and I am married to Onyx Dragon kind of fitting don't you think? LOL

I don't suppose you know about the stories of Kaz, Huma, the war of the lance, the first dragon wars, the dargonesti, the Irda, the chaos wars, Rennard, Tanis, Tas, Fistandantilus, The various avatars, the greygem, the blood sea of istar or Istar istelf? when expanding my horizons, I can only find stories of Shandril, spellfire, Elminster, the Harpers, and of course, Starship Troopers.

Archangel is both an original X-man, A really cool character they should put in the marvel vs capcom games, and the screenname of a friend of mine in the AOL chatrooms.


Delbin is a little Kender friend of Kaz the minotaur (seen in the books "Kaz the minotaur" and "Land of the minotaurs"

Ganth is the name of Kaz's father, but supposedly a descendent namesake of that very clan.

Silak's name is just a perversion of his species; Sivak Draconians.

Michael Wolff - Officially it's something I drew out of nowhere, but unofficially it vaguely reminds me of the name of one of my mother's clients.

Ether Melt (my favorite character.) I am a cryomaniack IRL (thus my name) and I wanted to create a character related to ice. to learn about his past, or any details about him, just watch The Enterance. THe name, Ether is a liquid that cools down nearby matter by drawing heat energy from it so it can evaporate. It was once used in refrigerators. Melt is just an Oxymoron. (Duh, I am Moron [little frekazoid joke])

My newest character, one Succumbus, is a nameless minion from hell. (if you don't know what succumbi are, you need to look it up)


THat's about all the names I got. Unless you want to count the NPC Eddie FLores in starship troopers thred. Just watch the klendathu champaign on the rouchneck chronicles and you'd understand.

Photon/Rey Copa: came from pure imagination. A "photon" is actually a ray of light.

Gregory, Lana: Actor Gregory Hines was in my mind. Lana Lang from Superman comics was too.

Joaquin: Actor Joaquin Phoenix was in mind, as well as Brazilian slave trade reasearcher Joaquim Nabuco. (Yes with an "m")

My real name is Giovanni Mateo Vargas. I know I sound a bit nerdy with all the trivia, but I promise I am a good looking guy. LOL!

Cards

I think my favorite one would have to be the Mox Pearl that was given to me by a friend but I love my red deck. As I said my cards are older versions I play a straight red deck with fireballs, lava streams, lightning bolts, and such just straight damage. No creatures just spells and effects I love my mana flares they are so cool I have two of them in my deck. I do hold one Artifact in the deck and thats a Fellwar stone so I can use anyone's mana against them. My hubby won't play against that deck or my white wennie deck he hates all the little creatures I love to use with that one. As soon as he kills one off I have four more to take its place and in that one I use several artifacts that give life like ivory tower and such. Hope that answers that for you.
