The Spiritbound were powerful weapons of war, whether for good or evil, in the lands of Xhavin. However, they have been dormant for many centuries, their power untapped, their summoning stones sat in their shrines scattered about the land, more now remembered in stories than in actual memory except for the the elders of the longer-lived races.

Their power was ended and they drifted into stories when one of the Spiritbound Talismans, the Daemon Lord Spiritbound, was hidden by its then-Soulwarder, an evil sorceress known as Kyrissa, hid it by unknown magics moments before her end to avoid its destruction at the hands of other Soulwarders who had unitited to defeat her.

Many diviners have attempted to unveil the Daemon Lord talisman, for both good and ill purposes, over the many years, but none have succeeded in discovering its location.

With its disappearance, all the other talismans ceased functioning, their Spiritbound trapped in their stones of power within their shrines. Each of the Talismans Soulwarders eventually perished with time, the talismans returning to their respective shrines.

The reason for the failed divinations is that the Talisman of the Daemon Lord was thrown beyond the lands of Xhavin, beyond the world where those lands lay, and beyond the constellations that look down upon it. Kyrissa sent the Talisman into another plane of existence entirely - our own.

Now, a little-known prophecy harkens the return of the Daemon Lord Talisman, and the reawakening of the Spiritbound. The Talismans call to them new Soulwarders, though they will be strangers to the land of Xhavin, as they, like the new Soulwarder of the Daemon Lord Spiritbound, will be drawn from our world.

The lands of Xhavin itself are wide and varied, as are the Spiritbound shrines that dot it. Example Spiritbound include the Angel Knight, the Elven Enchantress, the Shadow Thief, and the Amazon Warrior.

* * *

This is my intial idea for a sexual fantasy role-play thread. Each player can take up two roles - one as a human who is pulled into the lands of Xhavin, to a Spiritbound Shrine, as a prospective Soulwarder, and another as an actual Spiritbound, pairing with another player.

I'd like to make it three applicants and am interested in the Shadow Thief character.

hey...

Never fear... Why... smiles at her I'm still trying to get the story clear in my head. Sounds like a good one tho'

I was torn between the Enchantress and the Amazon. I think I am in an Amazon mood though. *grins* If possible I would like to be her.

Spiritbound

May I suggest "Black Shadow the Necromantic"?
I think the name is very cool...grinz. I mean ya always gotta have someone who can talk to the dead right?
Not really an elfan type gal'...winks

Humm I think Cati that the four up there are going to be the only ones. Tell ya what, I can do Elvin and Enchantress, why don't I go for that role and let you take the Amazon?

Then again, He did say they were examples so I could be entirely wrong in that assumption.

Thanks for the interest all :)

I probably won't be the swiftest of posters either Why, so I don't think speed-posting is a concern.

Think of it as a kind of Fantasy-setting Pokemon tournament (if you'll excuse the comparison). The Spiritbound and their Soulwarders gain strength by defeating others. Those 'good' Spiritbound of course prefer to co-operate.

The Spiritbound, when in battle royale with one another, assume impressive statures, almost titan-like figures fighting over the Xhavin landscape, though otherwise they have are relatively more human-sized. They are considered to be almost god/goddess-like beings by the inhabitants of Xhavin.

The above Spiritbound are indeed meant as 'examples.' Really only the Daemon Lord and his Soulwarder are set roles (and they can be run as npc's of a kind probably, unless someone would like to take up the evil side of the thread).

Most of the good Spiritbound have worked together in the past - their relationship with their Soulwarders generally is an equal partnership, though that can depend on the homeland of the Shrine and the Spiritbound's own persona - I doubt the Amazon Warrior Spiritbound will consider a male Soulwarder as an 'equal' half for example, and the Daemon Lord certainly considers himself superior to his Soulwarder - as he does consider himself compared to every other Spiritbound, for that matter.

Hmmm, well as we have to take on two roles, one human, perhaps my human part could be an international master thief, fitting and a natural affinity between the two.

Never having played Poke-mon and not knowing much about it at all, can I surmise that it's similiar to Magic the Gathering which I am familiar with?

Is "mana" drawn from various 'regions' and then used to summon powers, things, abilities to use in battle?

To use D&D terms, I'd think of my character as neither good nor evil, but more likely chaotic neutral. If it works for him then that's how it should be and if he wants or needs it why not just take it. However, he does have his own set of rules that he follows.

Vibro said we'd each take on two roles, one the Shadow entity and the other his human Shadowbound in the first post Why. I missed it on my first read too btw. *s*

I'd like to encourage players to take two roles, one as a Spiritbound and the other as a Soulwarder, but I'm not forcing the issue ;)

I was thinking that the two roles would be seperate though - not playing the Soulwarder human character counterpart to your own Spiritbound character. That way you'd have more interaction to begin with with the other players.

I've been a RPG player for many years. Never played Pokemon but M:TG is something I have spent a little too much money on in the past ;) when the fad really first hit the UK (3rd edition).

The Spiritbound have powers suited to their 'appearance' I suppose. I would suggest it simplest to make up some imaginary names for their more flashy 'power moves'.

The Angel Knight (one of the characters I think I'll go for) has Divine Sword of Justice and Heaven's Shield attack and defence moves. A Dark Elven Necromancer could have Shrieking Skull and Ghost Barrier for theirs.

Maybe we could come up with some kind of game system to work in OOC with the main thread to balance the Spiritbound :)

Vibro I've tried in the past and where combat, most especially between characters is possible or likely, I've never been able to come up with a "system" that prevents the "My sword (for instance) is swung to slice into your legs as my dagger is thrust to stab your throat." "My character jumps to avoid the sword cut, and my dagger blocks yours to the side then slashes back at your eyes" for instance. It becomes like two kids. "I shot you." "No you didn't. I ducked behind the tree first so you shot the tree, not me." type thing without the randomness of dice rolls or a judge/referee/GM to make decisions.

how to

way cool..dark elven necromancer...(alright)
if I might offer my opinion.... you don't think it easier for us to play our own counterparts? what if some one of us gets confused.

That's a thought cati, human avatars who draw their powers from the Spirit counterparts.

< clueless

...well I haven't played D & D nor the others, so I can't even imagine what I'm supposed to be doing

Think of a movie where the lead characters drawn their abilities and powers from "divine" sources or "mystical" sources cati.

The necromancer would draw hers from the Dark Elven (Drow Elf in D & D) Sorceress who'd get them from an appropriate God of the Dead like Hades for instance.

The Shadow Thief would draw the powers conferred on my character from two dieties, the Lord of the Dark and the Guardian God of Thieves, depending on what he was trying to do.

Have I gotten that right Vibro or do you see it differently?

HAHA you guys are funny..

Once the thread gets going. As all other threads. It'll be easy to know what to do. Trust me. Its not to hard to make things up as you go. Its not really like playing D&D for that would be hard to do in a thread I think, for you do need dice and all that stuff. But the basic idea of charas would be based on that idea. Is basically what this is. Basically. I don't play role playing games either, but the people I live with are fanatics of such things. So I know a little about the games. lol.

Anyway

I to would be interested in this thread. I love fantasy and all that good stuff. I'll probly play some evil elf something or another. Maybe a theif, theives are good.

Haven't decided yet, i'll have to see where this goes. But I would love to play something on the evil side. Evil = good.. hehe.. Maybe even Play that Karyissa Soul warder. That would be fun. I even like that name.

....and where does the sex come in...coughs. Is it whatever, whoever, whenever *winkin'...I'm kidding...manical laughter
...humms I put a spell on you by Marilyn M.....

I think I will just pick up one of the example Soulwarders and I think I will stick with the Elvin Enchantress.

I get what you are saying about playing two roles. One role is a human from our world and the other the Soulwarder.

The human would be transported to the temple of another player to interact with them and their soulwarder char would have one of the other player's human char interact there.

Sounds like it will be interesting.

You certainly don't have to play two roles Why?, I just thought it would stir in some more character options. Seem to have quite a few people interested so shouldn't be that much of a problem anyway :) If you would like to play your own Spiritbound/Soulwarder team I won't object.

I envisaged that the ahem sex aspects of the thread would be between the Soulwarder and their Spiritbound counterparts... maybe the closer bonding of their physical forms in addition to their usual mental/spiritual bond helps recuperate their spent energies after a battle. Defeating an opposing 'team' would probably also create possibilities of a sexual encounter.

I'll drop the humans from our world and instead have the Soulwarder's from Xhavin also, so we don't have a load of humans from Earth wondering what everything is about. The prospective Soulwarder's would preferably be young members of their race, perhaps talented but not powerful of themselves in whatever profession (if any) they follow.

Spiritbound usually appear in relatively human-sized proportions - its when they go into battle with one another that they assume more titanic appearances (though the location of the battle might restrict their sizes.)

The Spiritbound are 'trapped' within the Spirit Stones of their respective Shrines, unless a suitable Soulwarder is able to bear their Talisman beyond the Shrine's confines.

No such has been able to lift a Talisman in the last six centuries or so, since the Daemon Lord's Shrine and Talisman vanished. The Daemon Lord Shrine and Talisman were both hidden away through his and his Soulwarder's combined magic, to escape defeat at the time.

The Daemon Lord is the the closest thing Xhavin has to a pure 'evil incarnate' in its history, though he isn't the only 'evil' Spiritbound. The calling of new Soulwarders to the Shrines indicates he has returned to Xhavin, and his Talisman may even now be abroad, borne by his Soulwarder. The primary goal of the 'good' Spiritbound will likely be to find and contain the threat the Daemon Lord presents to Xhavin.
