OOC: The Pirates of Dark Water is back!

The alien world of Mer is being devoured by Dark Water... Only the young Prince Ren can stop it by finding the lost thirteen treasures of Rul. At his side is an unlikely, but loyal, crew of misfits; at his back the evil pirate Lord Bloth, who will stop at nothing to get the treasures for himself... It's high adventure with the Pirates of Dark Water!


Hi and welcome! I've decided that I cannot give up on a dream and let it die, so I am back once again. Hopefully this time there WILL be enough interested that the role play can kick off!

Currently the "main" characters of this cartoon are as follows:
Ren: Young prince who is trying to save his homeland from the dark water. Son to King Primus (who is dead).
Niddler: He is the Monkeybird. Ren's sidekick since the beginning. Lusts for gold and melons. lol
Ioz: Ex pirate. Strong lust for gold. Chauvinist.
Zoolie: Another ex pirate. Friend to Ioz. Owner of a tavern in Janda-town. Good natured man, cheerful.
Tula: (To be played by me...) Started out as a serving wench at Zoolie's tavern. She becomes a stow away on Ren's ship and ends out joining the Quest.
Bloth: Biggest, baddest, meanest pirate of 'em all. lol Pompous fool at times as well. Strong lust for gold.
Konk: Henchman to Bloth. Piglet/man. Coward.

I welcome user created characters as well as long as they fit in this pirate style. More good guys and more pirates welcome! And, certainly more female roles welcome! (All I ask is that in this OOC thread you introduce your character and describe them. Thank you.)

Of course it's alright! You can make her a pirate, a "good guy", a serving wench at Zoolie's tavern in Janda-town, whatever you'd like.

It should start as soon as most of the roles are filled. Hey, if anyone has a friend or a role playing partner that is looking for a new project, send them this way. This is the kind of thread that could always use someone else.
In any case.
Zoolie is now accepting application for serving wenches. Women need to apply by going to the tavern and being interviewed by one of the friendliest pirates around.

There is no set time for when the thread will start, but as Pooh said, once we get more people interested, we'll start. I would love to have the role of Ren filled before I start since he's truly the main character from the show.

I had a hard time deciding If I would play a serving wench or a lady pirate... but finally I have decided... she will be a serving wench that is tired of her life and wants to become a pirate. Here is my charcater:

Name: Darla
Age: Would you dare ask her? ( just kidding , she is 22 )
Description: Redhead, pale white skin, dark green eyes, 5´7 tall.

Darla is currently working for Zoolie, but she is not that happy with her life, watching pirates come and go, she envies their life, always on the move, their days and nights filled with adventure, danger and excitement.

She has taken some sword fighting classes from pirates in exchange for her company, the pirates thinking it foolish for her to want to learn to use a sword but all of them taking the offer, too good to resist.

Well, here it is, If there are any suggestions or ideas I would love to hear about them

Hi Tiggs! Ok, ok, I know I said I was in too many threads already and wouldn't have time, but dammit there are pirates here: I'm in! I think the pirate captain really ought to have a wench, perhaps taken from some really filthy, disreputable tavern - so life with the pirates wouldn't be appreciably worse than her life before, and at least it would be more exciting. Pending your approval she is:

So, it sounds like our three female characters all have the same boredom in life. I was going to take Tula's character similar to the original cartoon and have her be a stow away on Ren's boat, etc. (Poor Zoolie, looks like he's losing all of his wenches!) Crysede, since you want your character to be more of a passive wench to pirates, do you want to have her already be one once we start the role play so her beginning isn't like Tula's or Darla's? Also, if you can recrute some men to be pirates so you have someone to RP with right away, that would be fine. We still have Bloth, the "original" evil pirate and his henchman Konk that are original characters from the cartoon... And, user created pirates are fine!

On a side note, I'd prefer to have Ren and at least one pirate before I begin the role play, but I may at least get something written up by Friday or the weekend at the end of this week. I am going to have everyone's start be at Zoolie's tavern in some way. (Ie: if you're a pirate, maybe you stopped by for a glass of ale before heading out again? Zoolie and his serving wenches...those should be obvious. Ioz, Ren, and Niddler...it can be like in the cartoon how they meet at the tavern, or you guys with those roles can "enter" the story however you wish!) Also, I encourage and request open PM (or AOL/AIM, Yahoo, MSN, etc. IMs) communication so the characters can flow more easily together. Do not harm, injure, or kill a character without discussing it with the RPer before hand, please! Once my role play starts, I also ask that we have no OOCs in that role play. Please refere back to this thread to "talk" over things if you don't wish to or can't use the PMs... Thank you.

Agreed, it would be nice to have at least one pirate to start with, I'll see if I can recruit anyone else. I like the idea of my character starting out with the pirates, no need for Zoolie to loose all his serving wenches in one day!
