• The alien spacecraft arrives in Earth orbit.
• The destruction of Earth's technology begins almost immediately:
  • The International Space Station is attacked. It splits into several pieces that subsequently deorbit into Earth's atmosphere, burning upon reentry.
  • Satellites are destroyed, one every few seconds.
• The Mothership disengages 14 battle cruisers, each taking an orbit that will take it over land areas to be attacked.
