OOC: The Hotel - Casting Call

This is going to be a new thread about a small hotel and the different things that could and will happen inside. I'm going to play the hotel clerk and while I will be in some of the stories, I won't be in all of them.

This is going to be a series of different, mini-stories. Each should be played out in around 15 or less posts per character. There will be plenty of spots to fill but only for a few at a time. (Ex. One story might include three characters, so I would need 3 people to fill those roles, while one story might need only one.) Every story start when someone checks into the hotel. The bulk of the story will include their experiences inside, in which every story will be different. The end will be at check-out time.

I've got a good idea in what the first story will include just to get us started. If anyone is interested in ever doing one of these stories or if you have an idea for a story in the hotel, send the suggestions here.

How about a bit more info about the hotel, it's amenities (bar, restaurant, etc) and the town/city and neighborhood around it to give us some idea(s).

This is such a completely original idea, SilverBullet. I haven't seen anything like it on LIT. It reminds me a bit of the movie Four Rooms. I've got an idea for a character and a little scene I would love to play with. A dame on the lam, a police officer who tracks her down to the hotel, the seduction that ensues... Can she convince him to let her go. Fifteen post, huh? Should be quite a challenge.

Well of course my character isn't going to have an English accent like Tim Roth.

As of right now, it's a very small hotel. Only has around 12 rooms and the rent is cheap. It's one of those lower-class places you might go on a one night stand.

Once we get a few people wanting to play then I'll start the thread either on Monday or Tuesday. I don't have much time to post on weekends usually.

One thing that I think will be neat is that my character, the hotel clerk, will not know what is exactly going to happen, unless I come up with the story idea. He'll just respond to whatever the guests are doing.

I'm not sure about the 15 posts. Do you think that would be enough to get a story through while not taking so long for someone else to play?

Well, could actually have at least 12 separate stories going at one time and others could be involved in any of them. For instance a man and wife living in one and each with one or more lovers as just one example.

Love the idea. Could I suggest that if there get to be a lot of stories going, that to avoid confusion, room numbers be assigned to the guests in question, and that they put them on the post subject line? Might make it easier to follow the different stories as they develop.

Oh, and I would love to come up with a story to play with in this thread. Will definitely be thinking on it.

There's only going to be one story going on at a time because of that. It would be too crazy to have 12 different stories. People wouldn't have a clue as to what was going on. I'll just have one story happen, they'll leave the hotel and someone else will check in; new story. The 15 posts per character should be played out in around a week or so.

I'm going to start this Monday or Tuesday. I'll come up with the first story then after that whoever wants to can stay a night at the Hotel. Remember, I'm looking for a wide variety. One story might be about a sex-crazed woman, while another might be about a mentally-crazed man. Start thinking of some ideas and who you want to be in your story. They'll be a max of 4 or 5 people per story, but most will usually be 2 or 3.

The first story is just going to be a simple one to get things started. A woman has just gotten into an fight with her husband and came to the hotel to be alone and get drunk. She calls to the front desk for something and when I answer the phone, she starts talking really dirty. (We could have a twist that she gets me all worked up to come to her room, but then for some reason I never go. Or that I do go and she's still there or she could be gone. Don't let me know what's going to happen as we're going to try to have some mystery invloved in these stories.

Whoever wants the role let me know by Monday.
