Basically it's an anything goes Tournment that never ends, but has ranks that you move up through. When you reach the top rank, you get to make one wish, as long as it's not to rule the world, or become the ultimate badass :p However, it's a very long and hard road, and your character can be killed, so just be careful :) When defeated, you either stay at the current level you're at, or you drop down to the very beginning of the class you're in, depending on what kind of challenge the fight was to your skills. As long as you obey the rules of the two Judges that preside over your match and obey the rules of the Environment set into place, anything goes :)

This is kinda gonna be set up like an anime with magic/advanced technology mixture. Please, feel free to run your ideas, and we'll see what we can get ourselves into :)

Here are some starting classes:

Warrior: Becomes Blademaster and then Weaponmaster at higher skill levels, can use any type of weapon once they become proficient in it.

Elementalist:2 classes of Elementalists, Light and Dark.
Light:Water, Lightning, Wind, Fire
Dark:poison, Gravity, Magnetism, Earth
The Gravity and Magnetism Elementals are limited to 10, and are kinda rare because of their power, so please consult with me before comin up with tons of stuff about them :)
Also, the Elementalists are kind of "guided" by the Light and Dark Elemental and Aztur, the leader of them all. Aztur may divinely inspire and aid his "Children".

Black Mage:Normal magic casters. Can reformat their spells at higher levels to make them very powerful.

Technogeists:The only people in the Tournament that use machines/technology, they can have huge workshops and have been known to take huge armies of robots against each other.

The Tournament is based on a skill level of 0 - 200, with dividations ocurring at levels 20, 50, 70, 100, 120, 150, 170, 190 and 200. When ya create a character, let me know their power level in the description and what class you want them in. Obviously, a level 150 can't go into a level 20 competition :p I'd like for people to start relatively low and work up so that they can develop their characters, but it's entirely up to you ^_^

For races, anything is cool cept for aliens and the like, hehe
Were creatures are allowed, such as werewolves and werebears. Please be creative, and I'll love to read your ideas ^_^ Also, Shapeshifters and creatures that use tatoos to mimic others are encouraged :)

Hmm, sounds interesting so I will most likely give this one a go.

I am thinking a dark Elemtalist, with gravity of coarse, I have an idea' or to that may be interesting with that kind of power.

I am rather surprised you didn't put in a biokentist, I am positive I spelled that wrong, or some one who can take control of their bodies power for healing, invulnerability, super strength, or speed. Preferably not all at once as that would be a tough opennet.

Okay I need more info on the rules of this thread, because I am not clear on what you mean by only ten gravity and ten magnetics, and by light and dark elementalists do you mean good and evil?

Oh and a little more information on the tournament in general would be nice.

Well, by Dark/Light, it kind of means good/evil, but not really :) I don't believe that there truly is good and evil, it's just that people have their darker sides, and lighter sides. Kinda like Star Wars and the Force, where the Dark Side can be considered evil, but only because of their use of power.

What I mean by only having 10 Magnetists and Gravitists is that only 10 people can play the role of a Gravitist/Magnetist. The reason I limited the number of them to 10 is that, in comparison (probably not exact numbers, just a guess) it takes about 728 of the strongest Blademasters and Elementalists to take one down. I'd recommend your starting level as around 110-130, just because of natural born talent.

Biochemists kinda fall into the Technologists category because they use healing and all that. Main reason I didn't stick em in as a main class was because in my opinion, if you're healing, and you're using the good healing spells, you won't be able to concentrate on fighting, you're going to be concentrating on healing, and if that concentration gets interrupted, the heal will either stop or not be as effective, so you've just wasted your power. It's the same for Black Mages. Every class has minor heals and items that can heal them though, so if you wanna combine classes, please feel free too ^_^

Define what kind of rules you'd like to know about :) Can't really do much to explain them unless I know what to explain ^_^

Thanx for having interest and welcome to the thread Cats

Ooooh, you kinda wanteda history behind the Tournament?

Well, here goes, this is kinda what I've got in my story so far :)

"In the year 12537 of the Parallel Worlds, the Criticalist named Yosafe Nicrga started the Grand Tournament on the world opposite Shakim Dhurad. Previously, this world had been completely unsettled save a few colonies here and there which had been settled as refueling posts for wandering adventurers. When the Tournament was founded to end the fueding and wars on Shakim Dhurad, all those that enjoyed war and destruction flooded to the Tournament, settling hundreds of towns and building thousands of arenas.

Yosafe became the Headmaster of the Tournament, rising through the ranks until he was one of the best. After he had gained this power, he continued to explore the world he had helped found, until he stumbled upon the Continent of the Immortals, where he found the Ring of Stones, and implored the Elementals and Aztur for their aid in maintaining peace between both worlds. Aztur heard and answered the pleas of Yosafe, giving him Judges to govern the Tournament, and the allure of the one wish that would be granted to anyone that achieved a suitable level of skill.

And so, to this day, in the year of Aztur 15388, the Tournament has retained the same Judges, who preside over the Tournament, judging the fights fairly, and granting the wishes of those who become powerful enough."

That's just a little outline. Basically, the Judges are like demi-gods, with the power to only preside over the fights, and only the Judge of Aztur can grant the wishes. There're 10 Judges, each with bands of color running across their sleeves, legs and a band on their forehead. The colors correspond to the Elementals they were spawned from, and when they preside over a fight, the Effects of the Arena are determined by which Judges are present. Two preside over a fight at a time, their powers are mixed, and the terrain/effects are determined. The day also affects what the Arena will be, and which skills will be enhanced.

Okay I don't think you need to worry about 20 people comeing her and takeing Gravity and magnetism.

What are then ten elements.

I personaly have a very distinct way I am going to use gravity. I wish to hold off on it for now.

So what are some good races then?

Also are you going to be makeing a character and joining us?

Ok, first off, gonna clarify some stuff :)

Element: What the human/humanoid lifeforms use with the blessing of the Elemental.

Elemental: The demi-god of an Element that has control over it and can either gift a person with it, or give it to them at birth.

Elementalist: The human/humanoid wielders of the Element.

Light:Water, Lightning, Wind, Fire
Dark:poison, Gravity, Magnetism, Earth

Come up with anything you like, again, as long as it's pretty much human-like ^_^ Skin color, eye color, hair color, anything you want the person to look like is fine ^_^ Keep in mind that he can have were abilities (werewolf, etc) and can also be partially cybernetic if you like. Remember that it's a no holds barred tournament. Anything Goes ^_^

I was just planning to be the Judges, but I can have a character or two roaming around, sure :)

Well right now it's shapeing up like it's going to be the two of us and stories tend to get dull if I'm the only character.

This is ture :) But Rome wasn't built in a day ^_^ Hopefully someone will stumble on it and come in :)

Please keep in mind that this isn't just a fighting thing, it's exactly like life, with the main event centering around the tournament. Species that are specific to the planet live here, and entire civilizations are here. Towns and Cities are here as living spaces and trading centers.

Me ME!techonlogiest or wahtever its spelled like!memememememmememememe pick me!*waves hands around eagerly^_^

Welcome aboard Dark ^_^ If you 3 wouldn't mind, go ahead and start formulating your characters, then post all the info you think I'll need, then we can go ahead and get started :)

Battle system???

How is the battle system going to work? When we type in with the response to an attack from another Player Character is it going to be as simple as:

'He attackes with his sword'
'I block and strike at his stomatch, killing him instantly.'

I would just like to know how fighting is going to work. And since there are many more people in the tournament than can obviously be player characters will we have control over the NPC opponent for the fight? Or will there be no Player versus Player in this thread unless perhaps the two players agree on the outcome.

If any of you need help, Cats and I will show you how we beat each other up in tournaments style threads such as this.

Well, what I'd like (and this is probably gonna soundn stupid) is for you guys to communicate with each other. I'm hoping that as one thing, this can get people to work together. If necessary, I will be a character in one fight, but no, I don't want it to be like a game where it's pick and choose your attack. Play it exactly like you would in real life. You get stabbed in the gut, your guts are gonna come out, so on so forth. It's kinda hard to explain, but I'd like for you guys to be as realistic as possible.

This is a good place to look at a fight between Hybird and I. I'd like the fights to follow these guidelines. Play your character like it's actually you, and make decisions based on what you think is best. Yes, I know I'm probably making this too complex, but I love it when people come up with stuff like this. It makes shiver and gets me all tingly :p

Hybird, if you would please post some links to fights between you and Catz, I think that would be excellent.

Be as animate in your explanatiosn as possible. I don't care, and even encourage it, if you spend 3 paragraphs just explaining the pose your guy is gonna be in while holding his sword.

Also, please don't hesitate to ruun your wildest ideas past me. I'll gladly work with you about a single point, just to make it fit perfectly. If you have any problems just pm me, and I'll see what I can come up with :)

Quite interesting

Thanks for the links to give me a understanding of how it works for you guys. I think I will join the Tourny, should a run a character by you before I post it or should I just post it? I understand that it would be uncool to play a super character so I won't I already have something in mind anyway. He is one of my more lucky characters. Always getting in over his head but through some miracle he is victorious. Quite a funny guy.

Oh can a character be multiclassed?

Well in the past Hy and I have worked together, most of the time one of us get hurt, the rest of the time the other tends to get hurt, and on very rare occasions we both get hurt and our third partner in crime is left laughing over our broken bodies.

Rone, it's a typical rule that you can't do one hit kills. The typical procedure involves doing a big attack and letting your fellow writer go from there. The one hit kill is actually written some where, and while not written down this rule also encompasses things that are crippling in a big way, for example cutting a nerve in the arm, or breaking the same sword arm. Even kicking a guy in the nuts is under this sort of rule because that does force the persons actions. So just be careful of doing posts that say this person is wounded here. How ever saying you did an un armed hit to the face and simply declaring it hits is acceptable, assuming it's not the only attack you do, because the person can glance of those or say it really hurt in his post later as he feels needed. Sorry to be long winded especially after you figured it out on your own.

Okay heres my chara.

name: Lycon
Age: 18
Hair: Purple (Some one has to have purple hair.)
Eye color: A silvery blue
Height: 6'
weight: 170 lbs
Clothing, weapons, gear: jeans, a fine chain mail shirt, a trench coat, wrist weights, combat boots, and a broad sword with thrusting tip.
Level: 80
Bio: Lycon left school and was lazy enough to stay home, his parents ended up with no choice but to tell him to get a job. He didn't and was kicked out. Some time later while he was working at a very low paying job he discovered his gift to control gravity and make things lighter or heavier by moving a small gravity field he manifests above it or below it.

Shortly after discovering this power he discovered it was easier to fight in the tournament, He quickly figured out a few tricks including: Flying, throwing people one way or another, sword play, and a trick to aid his training. Between this and his powerful gift he has moved up to his current rank and accepts fights with mixed results.

Theory has it he would be twice as far in the rankings if only he had some desire for the the wish, which gives many their super natural drive to win.

Great Char Cats :) If we can get 1 other to do a char, we can have the first fight. Also, instead of flying, I'd describe it more as lightening himself and pushing against physical objects to float.

To answer your question Rone, yes, they can. Normally, you wouldn't find low levels working with two classes because it's somewhat difficult, especially if you're doing two Elementalists together. They normally have enough problems controlling the one Element at lower levels anyway, but if you wanna work with one, that's fine :)

Also, I'd really rather not having people killing each other off unless that person is wanting to leave the Tournament or whatever :) Call it the character getting out of a series ^_^
