Some IC 'facts' - will add to these as things progress. 
The Dungeon of Doom : constructed by Hubert the Mostly Black-Hearted, the Arch-Liche (an old, undead wizard) a couple of centuries ago.
Hubert the Black-Hearted : His private quarters are on level fifteen, and he rarely if ever meets with people without an appointment. Lately, a gnome calling himself Norman has been turning visitors back, saying the Master is too busy and doesn't wish to be disturbed.
Fairbottom : a village which has been doing a bustling trade from adventurers coming to visit above said dungeon in the last few months. 'Neutral ground' between dungeon denizens and adventurers - fighting is bad for tourism.
Drunken Dragon : an inn / tavern in Fairbottom. Very reasonable prices.
Pixies : Small mischievous faeries who enjoy pranks, especially at other peoples expenses. Pixie-Hives are most common in the Rainbow Hills, where coloured chalk is quarried. They use coloured chalk in the making of their magical pixie dust. Pixie-Hives roughly resemble wasp hives with towers and buttresses, and are bigger on the inside than the outside. Each is ruled over by a Pixie Queen.

The 'dungeon denizens' (as well as the pesky adventurers) are rather inept, but their hearts are in the right place (except for those monsters which don't have hearts.)
Players of both 'sides' welcome, though adventurers risk getting turned into newts.
