The dark frontier of deep space. Strange alien worlds. A space vessel lost off-course in the uncharted territories of the Periphery. This is the tale of the Astral Spirit, a MarsGen terraforming ship.

And its crew.

I am playing the role of Dr. Scott Deacon, bio/xenobio specialist.

If you would like to sign aboard for the main thread ( Here ) please post below. :)

I was thinking I might play a character...who stole a faster than light ship off an alien trader planet...heck, they want to trade? I'm the man.

Now can I help it if they left their AI computer engaged on the ship I...took command of? It is helpful in so many languages. Including mine. So, we set off... unfortunately, chased by...

Well, anyway...it seems they were not best pleased when I...liberated...the craft.

Now...after evading my pursuers for several hundred light years...what do I see but a lumbering Terraforming craft...now, maybe if I could engage the Terraformers AI system, it would allow me to dock inside that gigantic craft; maybe hide from the aliens I stole...errr...liberated the craft from.

Maybe....sends a signal hoping I might have docking rights.

I'd just like to register my interest in the thread, though I realise another male character may not be ideal. I'd like to play some sort of chief security officer for the ship. I assume even terraformer ships need security of some sort when venturing into uncharted territory. might work well with chris' character too, I see him as the eternally paranoid, untrusting "you can't possibly go down to the surface of the planet sir! it's too dangerous!" type.

At any rate I'll keep an eye on the thread, see if we get a few more ladies to join, and I'll post some sort of bio up for my character. If that's all ok with you Vibro.

Hey, I'd be interested! I could even play a female character if you needed one. Of course, it would either be a toss-up between, say a human engeneer, or one of a particular alien culture I developed (along with a friend) some time ago. I'll stick up bot my ideas in a bit, and everyone can decide apon which would be more suitable, ok?

OK! Here would be my candidates. Pick the most suitable, or I could always try and play both!

Name: Hitomi Sato
Age: 25
Rank: Lt.
Height: 5' 2"
Build: Athletic
Skills: Engeneering. Secondary in electronics

Basic Description: Lt. Hitomi Sato is a well spoken young woman of obvious asian descent, sometimes quite at odds with the first impression she gives out. Educated to degree level, she didn't care much about the theory side of her subjects, instead imersing herself in the more physical hands-on work. She loves to tinker with machinery, and it's a rare sight to see her without her shoulder-length black hair tied back, and alot of machine oil soaking into her uniform. She was signed up to work aboard the Astral Spirit almost purely to make sure that the ship's systems were fully functional apon arrival, and that the drive system would be capable of getting the crew back home

*******

Name: Rakamedji (Raa-khaa-may-gee)
Race: Himmiradaa, or "Elementals"
Age: (equivalent) 38
Height: 6' 6"
Build: Slim
Basic racial description: All Himmiradaa look almost exactly the same apon birth. They resemble emacipated humanoids with slightly flattened, elongated skills. They have four fingers on each hand, two toes on each foor, and a very small, rudimentary tail. Like most bi-gendered species, they have both a 'male' and 'female' variety, although the physical differences are not as obvious in the young as in the adult. The race has a natural link with nature and, apon reaching maturity, each one must choose an lemt to focus their life apon. It is at this point that the physical atributes change slightly

Basic personal description: Rakamedji has dedicated herself to the element of water, and it shows in her personality. She can be perfectly calm one minute, and a storm of emotion the next. Of course, she tries to keep her outbursts under control for the most part, but every now and again feels the need to let loose. Her body is much like the common humanoid strain, although she is slimmer than most others. This does not affect her physical abilities, as she is quite capable of pure physical exhertion as most athletes. She has very long, slightly slick tendril-like membranes that hang down from the back of her head almost like hair. Her large, perfectly spherical eyes are a deep blue, and her skin has a light turquise tint to it.

**************

As it's late for me, my brain is starting to shut down, so that's all I can recall. So, whaddya think?

Hmm well here's my proposed bio, I hope it works for y'all.

Name: Aleksandr Radik

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Rank/Position: Lieutenant-Commander, Chief of Security aboard The Astral Spirit.

Description: Alek is a battered-looking man, his face is marred by several scars which scream out “war vet”. Cold cobalt eyes pierce sharply out of his battered visage keenly. His ruddy hair is worn short and scruffy and he is never without his designer stubble. His body and his looks are best described as rugged and athletic, he stands at around 6 ft tall. Years of harsh physical exercise have left him in good shape though the scars across his body each tell a story of their own. His leg melds into a bionic replacement just above his knee which causes him to walk with a slight limp.

His personality is best described as business-like and abrasive. It’s not that he is vindictively rude to people, he simply calls a cigar a cigar and has a very honest and straight-forward way of going about things. To others he comes off as untrusting, almost bordering on paranoia.

That said, he is good at his job, paranoia is a good trait to have when you’re responsible for the safety of the crew of a ship belonging to MarsGen.

Background: Aleksandr Radik has spent most of his life in the military. He joined the United Terran Infantry at the age of sixteen. Having served in several campaigns and earning the command of the 3rd Polaris Rangers he retired from military service and moved into slightly more…comfortable pursuits. MarsGen happen to pay better than the Terran government, and running security on a ship involves a lot less ground-pounding and blisters on the feet. It wasn’t a difficult choice to make and he’s served as the Astral Spirit’s chief of security for the past two years.

If it don't work Im sure I could write something that will. :)

POW! Dunno why I didn't think of this to begin with! I'll run with Hitomi Sako to start, and if the situation warrents, can into Rakamedji later!

OOO! Grizzled war vet, eh? I can see him striding through corridors, stopping arguments with little more than a glare :D Nice!

Oooh, either that he'll have a mental relapse, become convinced the crew are evil aliens from one of his past campaigns and begin stalking from corridor to corridor with the futuristic equivalent of an M16 assault rifle and a machete. :D

Well, yeah, that could happen, but I just got the slightly humerous image of Hitomi telling him to "Sit still so I can fix your damn leg!" :cathappy:

I hear she can perform acts with a spanner and a can of oil that'd make even a whore blush. :nana:

Well, they may need a bit of erm... adjusting... from time to time?

Introducing Crew Woman Samantha "Shapely" Stern. This is her first mission with MGC and remains enthusiastic despite all that has happened. *sighs*

Hey! It's a screwdriver, not a spanner! :D

Welcome aboard crewman (or should that be crew-woman?) *throws a salute*

A screwdriver? Oh my *fans self*

And Samantha is enthusiastic eh? She'll learn, she'll learn!

*catches it and throws it right back*

Spanner's all right. I'm the Honorary Colonial, but I can understand your weird language. ;)

*Removes himself from hiding in a locker*

No need to panic. This was just a invasion test drill Red Alert.

Ah good! In that case, I'll get back to work! These supa-nuke toasters don't make themselves! :nana:
