It's the year 2500 and things sure have changed.
First Contact? The years between 2050-2100 saw such a bumper crop of alien invasions, alien diplomatic overtures, alien infiltrations, alien cults, alien exploratory expeditions and alien inscrutable gestures that no reputable historian is prepared to give a professional opinion on which extra-terrestrial race was first to land on Earth.
Global warming was halted by the pioneering work of the brilliant cryo-scientist Lessa van Meer and her freeze-rays (used by the very first of the New Science Heroes, Jack Frost). Unfortunately, this did not happen before enough of the arctic melted away to awaken the ancient, diabolically evil civilization of the Old Ones.
Humanity (and associated alien allies, rivals and enemies now sharing the planet) saw little hope against the Old Ones but in reviving their one-time great enemies -the super-science empire of Atlantis, lost and held in a frozen chrono-anamoly beneath the waves of the Atlantic before recorded history began. Atlantis resurfaced in the year 2300, reopened its inter-dimensional portals linking Earth and its distant colonies amongst the stars, and a new balance of power was born.
These are bold new times for humanity. Its greatest heroes explore the stars, venture into alien dimensions, or explore into the centre of the earth itself. Through super-technology, alien uplift, ancient magic, extra-dimensional origins or mysterious cosmic radiation, some of them have been granted powers beyond human capabilities. They can run up sheer walls, dodge bullets, hurl lightning bolts, read minds, fly and generally do a host of impossible things.
These skills need to be harnessed for the greater good. Numerous schools and academies exist to train young heroes, but none of them equals the reputation of the Tomorrow Academy amongst the brilliant, vertiginous towers of New York. Here, uniformed students are taught the secrets of their powers and how to use them with responsibility and morality. And, since the hectic pace of life has not slowed down at all, seniors are given many practical opportunities to learn for themselves, fighting crime, Amazonian invasion, giant gorilla eco-terrorists, out-of-control robots and other stranger things on the streets of New York and beyond.
This is the OOC and Recruiting thread. We already have five players, but if you think the above pitch sounds like your cup of tea, by all means PM me with a character pitch. In brief, this will be a light-hearted, super-hero/anime-themed game in anything-goes setting. The more gonzo, the better. The PCs are a team of busty, beautiful schoolgirls attending Tomorrow Academy, assisted by an unlikely roster of reformed supervilains, dreamy royal Atlantean exchange students, mysterious and shadowy mentors, and cute but geeky supergenius techies.
If you're already in the game, post your character below.
