Hey I was wondering what some of you wacky cats would think of a soap opera thread. You know make it up and have our own little Stereotypical soap opera town with our characters. I think it could be a fun long term thread. Allowing for some cheezy plots and fun writing. Any thoughts? Interested Parties?

Yeah I was wondering if perhaps I was suggesting something that had been done to death. Nice to know it wasn't.
I'd like to post this early on:
The rules for creating a great Soap Opera name is by combining your middle name with the name of the street you live on. This often creates great names, especially if like me you have more than one middle name to pick from.

Pretty good. Although this isn't a hard and fast rule. I think a character named Bradley Fifty-Seventh would be pretty funny though.
I don't know whether to use my place or the place that me and my sweetie are kind of sharing. Well being as I have two middle names perhaps it will allow me to have 2 characters

Well, I almost hate to say it, but this could really be fun. I imagine the plots will get really twisted. I haven't been around for a while, but I'm back and I'd like to be involved.
How about if I play Victor Long, a wealthy financier who got rich off the investments he made with the nest egg he earned working in 70's porn flicks. Of course, he doesn't like to discuss his sordid past. Or the fact that he has had affairs with most of the women in town at one time or another. He's been engaged several times, but never yet walked down the aisle. He also probably has illegitimate children old enough to be in play.
He's going to turn 50 soon and is starting to worry a bit about his age. Of course there are always ways to compensate.

I think Victor Long sounds pretty good. How about him having a very respectable position now? Mayor or chairman of the board at the local hospital?

Victor is 5'11", with salt and pepper hair. A bit on the wiry side, he wears loose cut pants so as not to constrict the assets he used in his prior career.
He is not a handsome man, but has a magnetic attraction and is very comfortable taking charge of social interaction.

"We tried to save your twin but the damage caused by the bear attack was too severe."
or my favourite
"If I save the mother, I lose the child. And if I save the child I lose the mother. Damn it! I wasn't ready to play god today!!!"
Docs simply play a role, as do Cops, Lawyers and anything else one could think of.

Now she works for Andrea Cook in her advertising company. Eva is nasty when she has to be. She's got a smile that melts guys and turns them into putty. She's manipulative and always gets her way!
