Hello, all. I am thinking of starting my first-ever multi-character RP, and I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to run such a thread. Can any of you more experienced players give me some tips? I'd greatly appreciate it! I want to do whatever I can to make this story a big success. :)

I haven't actually tried starting a thread for more than two people yet, but I'd say setting the scene well in your opening post is a good start. Give as much background information as you can starting out, especially if it takes place in a fantasy or historical setting that some prospective players might not be familiar with.

Setting some sort of limit on the number of players you're looking for may be useful, but then again that depends on the thread you have in mind. It may be the more the merrier, or you might be looking for only two or three, but stating what you're looking for in your opening post is probably a good idea. Try and leave openings for a variety of characters, and if you have specific roles you need filling then give a rough idea of what you're looking for but try to leave as much detail as possible open, to give players room to tailor their characters to their own preferences.

Well that's just a few things I've picked up since being here. Hope it helps.

Ticklish Girl...

Start with maybe a theme that interests you. A book, tv show/cartoon, movie, etc. Perhaps something that you fantasize about that could involve more than two people. Then, you have the choice of creating the characters on your own and letting other players take who they want, or giving basics and letting the platyers develop their own chracter. :) Hope this helps some...!
