    • Included is an explanation of current tensions with China and Russia.

    • POTUS's Chief of Staff, Benjamin "Benny" Cooper.
• Aboard the International Space Station: (Still in #2)
  • There are 13 occupants, tying the 2009 record for the largest crew.
  • It is explained that the 2 descent modules can only safely return 10 passengers to Earth between them.
  • Of the 13 occupants, the following decide to remain on the ISS:

Robert Wiler -- President of the United States

Physical Description:

• Image
• Born 1981 (current age 54)
• Physically, he isn't much to look at: 5'8", slightly stocky.

Background:

• History previous to the below information may or may not be added. I haven't decided whether or not he is going to become a major character.
• Married: 2001 (34 years):
  • The First Lady, who kept her name of Wanda Paulson, is very active in promoting international aid.
  • This takes her out of the country a great deal.
  • During these times, Robert likes to dip his wick in any of a number of favorite warm bowls of wax.

Election to President:

• 2002: Elected to the House of Representatives as a Democrat (age 21).
• 2010:
  • After he got on the wrong side of some powerful donors, he was beat in his Primary bid for reelection.
  • His State's Junior Senator was retiring for health reasons, and neither of the major party candidates were well-liked.
  • He ran as an Independent and won the election by 1.5%.
• 2028:
  • He ran for President as an Independent and became a spoiler, causing the decision to go to the House. (Which party won is irrelevant to the story.)
  • 2030: The President became embroiled in a corruption scandal and resigned.
  • Early 2032: The new President was found to have been part of the scandal and was impeached.
• 2032:
  • He again ran for President as an Independent.
  • Both major party candidates were embroiled in various scandals.
  • He won more electoral votes than either of the other candidates but not the minimum 270.
  • Again, the decision went to the House, and this time he was selected to became President.

• She grew up in a well-educated, upper middle-class family.
• Knew she was gay from a young age.

• She excelled in academics and sports.
• Was ROTC through high school, graduating in 2016 at age 17.
• Graduated the Air Force Academy at the top of her class in 2021 at age 22.

Career:

• Air Force:
  • She learned to fly cargo planes; her first work as such came in 2023 at age 24.
  • She flew supply runs in various locations around the world.
  • She became a flight trainer in 2028 at age 29.
• NASA:
  • She joined the Astronaut Program in 2028 (age 29).
  • Current mission to ISS was her first time in space.
  • 9 April 2035:
    • The aliens arrived.
    • She chose to remain on the ISS, despite having the option to return to Earth.

Sexuality and Relationships:

• Openly gay.
• Married to Joann Paul, an FBI agent based out of the Denver (Colorado) office.
• She had a fling during ISS training with German astronaut, Hannah Wagner. They have promised it wouldn't happen again, but I wouldn't count on that.

Her planned involvement in the RP:

• Can say it yet as it is a secret known only to my cowriter and me.

• Married to Dorothy Spencer, an American Astronaut, since June 2031.

Career:

• The early stuff is coming.
• Joined the FBI in 2020 (age 19).
• Currently works out of the Denver (Colorado) office.

Her planned involvement in the RP:

• I see her first becoming involved in investigations related indirectly to the arrival of the aliens; no specifics yet.
• Then, who knows.

• Brunette hair dyed brown, blue eyes.

Personal Background:

Sexuality and Relationships:

• Heterosexual.
• Engaged to Karl, but this relationship is doomed:
  • They have known each other since childhood and had begun dating in high school.
  • They dated others through college/military and reconnected afterwards.
  • They announced their engagement in 2032.
  • A few days before she relocated to the US for the last phase of training for the ISS, she learned that Karl was fucking a mutual friend of theirs.
  • She decided not to confront him before going to the ISS, to keep it out of the Press.
• One night during training, when both were feeling down and low, she and Dorothy Spencer -- who is gay and married to Joann Paul -- had a night of deep passion together. Neither regrets it, but they also told one another than it couldn't happen again. Secret: it will.

Education:

• She has a PhD in Engineering.
• Her specialty is 3D printing:
  • The emphasis that got her onto the ISS was in remote engineering of objects on other planetary bodies.
  • She believes that space stations could be built on the Moon, Mars, and even some of the moons around Jupiter or Saturn years ahead of the arrival of Human occupants.

Career:

• The early stuff is coming.
• Joined Germany's Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (German Aerospace Center) in 2031 (age 24).
• Current mission to ISS was her first time in space.

• Blonde crew cut.

• Various tattoos espousing anarchist thinking.

• He grew up in a "community" of anti-government anarchists.
• More coming.

Sexuality and Relationships:

• Coming, but not necessarily relevant at the moment.

Military Career:

• Was in the Army. More to come.

His planned involvement in the RP:

• He begins as a simple anti-government anarchist.
• I'm thinking that he might become an anti-alien activist. Don't know yet.
• He will likely become involved with FBI Agent Joann Paul.

Activities in the roleplay:

  • His group (as of yet unnamed) attacked an FBI surveillance team, killing agents before getting some of their own killed.
