I like this thread! Sith, I do hope you like the fact that your character the King is married and has seven children- including a stroppy princess and a lazy ass son. And his wife is the complete opposite to him! No way melenchonic. She's a funny character; I think what ALL these threads need is a light dose of humour. Some of the threads take themselves way too seriously. Boy, am I having fun...

i want to request that Sith (the charicter not the writer) some how some way come into this so when we leave the palace he can keep writing??is that oK????
Read my last post, the one where Morbius is offering a contract on YOUR head to Vixen! It mentions a magic counselor...
My original intention was to send Sith, but I thought Mansard was a mage, and I thought too many mages spoil the spell... that is why I thought about Rorthrar...
Note: all this characters come from a very long AD&D campaign that has now stalled. The only change is that Morbius is here a Paladin, and in the campaign he got to level 25/25/28 as Mage/warrior/Thief... he got a kingdom an ruled it wisely. He was a bit stern with evil intentions, that is why it became a Paladin here.
Rorthrar was a Paladin, he got to lvl 22.
Note to Roland: this Morbius is a Paladin, so he'll keep his word.
Note to Lady Aline: About Marietta, the king has hinted that she has started her Paladin training. If you want to make her just a warrior, that is no problem, as that would be the first training she would get on her path to paladinhood.

Not dead. The king is Powerful. He is loaded with magical items, he is at his Cathedral, where his powers are at most, and he loves his daughter. He thinks Roland will be useful in the search for peace, so instead of having him executed, he hires assassins to keep him on line... He knows Mariette will be back.
I can't post in Bold New World, remember you had Sith in extasis in one of your lightning emails?

Bet you weren't expecting me to join in too.he he he he Well anyway I'm here and I am that guy(Lokken, who is actually a very handsome and charming guy when isn't pissed or trying to kill something) who invited you to his place with the demon but instead you tried to kill him and looted his castle and almost burned it. But he tried to find you guys, but instead he found Grond and learned what a REAL battle is out in the wild. While there he learned quite a few new spells that he created himself(that means nobody else knows these and nobody can counter them or stop them or redirect them, nobody even knows what they are until he uses them), so in the end he wasn't mad and when he heard about the king's quest, he knew you were going to be there so he decided to join in too.(I will get rid of the laccolith!)But the point is he is back and Roland, I gotta say I really love that thread bold new world, write on. I was gone for a few days so I really had to catch up on everything but I'm back now and I have already started writing again.

After You kill Mikba you finally decide to go to Lokken's castle. Then peing the ego maniac you are you begin to stick your nose where it shouldn't go and are discovered spying on the king(may I remind this guy is not an old guy, he is a handsome guy who LOOKS like he is in his late twenties). But the King is still friendly to you. But then Sith starts to think that Lokken lured them all here so he could kill them here. So later he decides to TRY to loot the castle and burn it and then along with the rest of you, he hauls butt. Lokken follows you and gets seperated. After five years of living in the wild, he hears of the quest and since he had such a pleasure working with you he wants to try again at a gentler friendship. So he goes to the Chapel on his laccolith and when the servant says the king is busy and how dare he bring that brute in here, Lokken loses his temper and blasts the wall down with a fireball, everybody who read the ACTUAL thread knows what happened after. Also regarding the magics, only one is invincible(as in unstoppable, I repeat if he casts this at you, you will officially die, so dont piss him off). Also all this while he develops a crush on Vixen but is too shy to ask "the most beautiful woman in the world"(quote from the memoirs)out on a date. So Roland, beware, now you have much more powerful and less egotistical competition. In other words, dont let Lokken know about your innermost desires, or there wont even be a body of yours to bury.

One of the reasons I said no Gods was to avoid this situation. This reminds me of what a famous theologian / philosopher (I don't remember his name, around the 14th century) said to 'demonstrate' God doesn't exist (St. Tomas Aquino?):
God is omnipotent. Ask him to create an indestructible rock. Then once done, ask him to destroy it. You get a paradox, so God can not be omnipotent, and such he can't exist as the definition applies...
Later on I think Kant destroyed this argument saying "But it is a matter of faith."
So what I mean is: you have defined a character with a very manga like 'unstoppable' attack. I defined Sith as very defensive, the ultimate defense... that stops any attack.
So here we have a contradiction. The best thing would be to say your attack is not so powerful, and Sith's defense not so strong. (This defense I thought about in the Bold new world line, when I thought Roland would try to kill Sith)
Following the manga theme, remember that you always have someone stronger. So maybe Lokken thinks his attack is unstopable... then as he enters the cathedral blasting through a wall (I don't see that too feasible, it is protected by a God's power... and we said no gods here).

The thread is supposed to be for powerful characters, but characters that can easily be killed by an army if they don't thread carefully. Another thing is you are at the seat of Morbius' power, so you couldn't just burn everything... the God of Order wouldn't allow that... and we are talking one of the 3 main forces in the whole existence...
Could we have for once a standard line, where a trained assassin like Vixen could take out anyone, and Brzen could take out Vixen, and Sith could take out Brzen, and Pierce could take out Sith... and so on.
I mean, I could just follow your reasoning and post:

On my unstoppable attack, sorry, let's say perhaps someone weilding the helm of the Black Blade is immune to it, also there's always a good ol counterspell. To your god stuff, you guess what I'll say, to mine, my mistake, all that piss me off and die shit was at Roland, like I said Roland likes Vixen, Lokken ,who is more powerful, likes Vixen, not good.

Okay, about the castle burny thing, like I said it is still STANDING, let's fix it by saying you two roughnecks(Roland and You) decided to duel, and one of you launched a flame cloud and it hit a mogrite stone(Mogrite + even smallest spark go big boom) and it set fire to part of the castle. Then when Lokken came out to know what the hell happened, Roland said that it was Sith's fault, then Sith, fearing he was in danger, looted a part of the castle and ran away. I will admit it, this really needs a lot of work.

This line has to have interest for a warrior like Marietta who is starting, for an assassin like Vixen... if Lokken just comes in with his Legendary Dragon, well, maybe that is unbalancing everything a bit.

Youch! I dont have a chance to check the board for one day and what happens?! And here I thought this thread was starting to take shape nicely and actually tell a decent story.
Roland and Morgoth, I don't know who orginally started this and I really dont care, but is there anyway you guys can take this to another thread. Both of you are dragging down the storyline at this point.
Also in general, try to tone it down please. While I realize some of you make like your godlike charecters, these generally spoil the story for several reasons.
1) If your charecter is so damn good, why does he need the rest of the party? The answer is, he doesnt, which is pretty damn boring for the rest of us, as we watch you blitz through the opposition and win/solve the storyline by yourself.
2) With a charecter that powerful, where is the challenge?
Personally , I like an average normal charecter. If your charecter can walk through armies, outmage everyone, and call upon the gods at will, why are you playing? No possible force can threaten you.
(Note: This last part is not aimed at anyone in particular, just against some ideas which I have seen come up in *some* of the recent posts and which I have seen spoil all too many decent games over the years. Sith, since you started this thread, and have done a good job in carrying it along so far, maybe you would be better off acting as a psudo-GM(keeping the storyline on track, introducing new plot points, refereeing PC vs PC combat, etc.) rather than bringing a charecter along with us, in an effort to keep things like this in check. Just an idea.)

sorry..i have had a bad day...look im trying to tone down my charicter..but in the process i want to bring out all sorts of good storyline material..thats why i wanted to be the snake man, so i could become friends with sith....so i can become more humble and less powerful i want to revoke my charicter but morgoth is dragging down my ideas with his god Kick, i am trying to change....if ure gonna critizes critize him too ok??? i just want to be a less powerful charicter and this is the path ive chosen to do that...
