This is to poll interest in a DC comics Justice League thread... Main characters would be Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter (mine), and any other interested parties.

I'm about to wrap up studies for the summer break, and will have time to devote to my dream thread...

As you may have noticed, the JLA is a little light on women characters. Sooo... ANY other female character, to keep Wonder Woman company, if nothing else, would be most welcome. I'll throw open the doors wide on this thread to any character at all... with one caveat. You've got to play by the JLA's rules. This group has Superman, after all, so bloodthirsty characters will be a very, very bad idea.

Villains will also be needed. I'd love to see what you guys can come up with to help me challenge the JLA.

Please post your opinions on this thread. If I get enough of a positive response, the thread will start after finals, in a couple of weeks.

Neale, hon, you know I am in. I pick dibs on Wonder Woman. Yes, I am a greedy little soul.

I would love to be a part of this one- if I can play the part of Batman that would be cool.

can I! Can I!

My thread total is down to 3, which is like 1/8 my normal. I hope it stays that way. Though, I would love a chance to bring back the original Lava. She played in the first thread that I was in on lit. P W E A SSSSEEE.

:)

I'm interested.

Will probably be Guy Gardner or Lobo for this one. Either way, I'm up for trying this idea out. :)

Ok why the fuck not

Since my thread has died a fiery smoldering freaking death. I guess I rather bring my villian with me. In other words I want in if I can use the villian I created

Phoenix

Why am I NOT surprised to see you in here too???

;)

Can I be the old style Superman? I don't really know the new one. If you had your heart set on the new supes I'll take the Flash or something.

I dunno Ren Maybe we both have some sick fetish for superheros in skin tight rubber costumes...

Nah!

I got it. We both have sick fetish for SUPERHEROWOMEN in skin tight rubber costumes. lol

You took the words right out of my mouth. LOL

Welcome all!

I'm delighted to see such a response already!

Speaking of SUPERHEROWOMEN in skin tight rubber costumes, I really hope that more of the ladies will be joining this thread, even though we already have two of the very best! (This is the SRP, and I fully hope to take advantage of that particular fact. I've always thought the JLA could use a healthy dose of sex!)

Reactions to your questions, in no particular order:
Old-style Superman and new-style are practically the same, these days. Differences: you can't fly faster than the speed of light (which prevents you from time-travelling), you aren't strong enough to move the Earth. Apart from that, they are pretty much the same. Since I doubt you'll be wanting to juggle planets, and I'll have a conniption if you start throwing time-travel plot twists at me, I think you'll be fine as whatever Superman you wish.

Genesis would be an interesting villain, Phoenix, feel free to consider yourself our first major foe. I have a story arc in mind for after that, as well.

A character created hero is just fine as well. I intend to actually play out any new heroes' admission into the League. Whomever of the 'official' roster doesn't get picked up will be replaced by the original heroes.

Right now, the 'official' members not yet picked up include: Plastic Man (a lotta fun, this guy!), Green Lantern (ditto), Flash (any speedsters out there?), and Aquaman (much cooler than you may think; read the current run of JLA to see how cool).

Check out DCs website or any of several other DCU/JLA related websites for further character ideas.

This group represents the best of the best in heroic circles, and I am seriously looking forward to seeing what we can do with them.

Please don't get bored waiting for the thread to begin. My exams start next week, and I'll try to get the thread posted during that time period, so we can get the initial settling in phase taken care of while I'm still studying. That way, it'll be ready for some serious attention when exams are over,)

ooo la la....ladies and gentleman, we have a pheonix AND a renegade...

I will be havin fun...hehe

*jumps in front of everyone adorned in tight daisy duke black painted-on shorts, as well as matching thigh high boots, a painted on, belly baring top to match...and of course, what hero would be complete without a utility belt...though I have never used it....*

This good enough fellas...

lol..I can keep this style of lava or go for the original island girl/sarong lady....the one with the barely there sarong skirt and belly-baring top, sort of like call of the wild meets playboy...meets gabriel

or course,

lava is 22 years of age...or she could be 19, dunno

5'11"

flaming red hair.

ussually dark grey eyes, though, when mad, you can count on the red comin on out...

australian accent

morphs to a body completely composed of lava. can mold into any object as well as mold any object out of lava.
can leave objects behind and at any time switch places with that object.

powers of levitation and (damn, my vocab at the moment ...) and slightly telekenetic powers, she can't touch anything while in lava state

tends to get darker when nearing a source of lava and more powerful

drawback...faints after any sort of morphing

kickboxes...that is it for ehr powers...yeah, she is gonna get beat up a lot...

is this good for you Neale? I talk too much...

sees lava in the painted on Daisy Dukes. Phoenix (the bird of fire) overheats and passes out.

Well as long as he still wears the Blue and Reds and has the Boy Scout demeanor, I'm fine.

I'm a little pissed about the time travel :(

Sorry about that EBW...

My poor brain just can't handle the complications inevitably resultant from time-travel...

Any more DC and/or Superhero fans out there? Hell, we could even admit Marvel characters, if you wanna!

wood like to joyn but I'm not rily up on the dc comics or any comic fore that mater the only one that I hav any rele nolg about is wolveren. other why's I could make up a ceriter just telme whether you whont a bad guy or a good guy and I'll see whot I can do

Me...

*watches as Pheonix passes out...* Painted on, almost leather....it is! Guess we are going for the new and improved, slightly naked....LAVA...lol

*saunters over to ren..."did you say amateur?"* Er....too much porn....

i wonder if aqua man can wash off my shorts...I did say they were 'painted' on...that must be my arch nemesis.....j/k..

No, I don't care about me doing Time Travel stories, I'm just a little sad that Supes can't travel through time anymore. The best comics were when he would alter the rotation of the sun to go back in time a few days to save the day. Why oh why must they continue to screw around with classic characters???

I know where you are coming from...

I still curse John Byrne, who, when given blanket permission to 'refresh' the Superman mythos, ripped it all to hell, eliminating nearly 50 years of the Superman legend. DC, some 15 years ago, restarted their entire universe, so everything written before then was basically scrapped. It probably helped their sales; it definitely made for a tighter, more coherent timeline; unfortunately, it wiped out all the stories I grew up with. *sigh*
[The occasions upon which Superman did do the time travel were a lot of fun for me, too. I just don't know how to take that ability into account when I design my end of the story arc. :( Thank you for understanding and respecting my dilemma. :) ]

Yo, Nightray!
Come on in! I'm thinking you might be better as a bad guy. One thing about the JLA, they don't kill. They are lead by Superman, after all. :) So, a Wolverine-type wouldn't fit in so very well... :) If you can hook up with Phoenix, maybe the two of you could work together to threaten the JLA somehow?

ok sonds good to me how about I bring in my vamir guy. Hav you guy notest that I hav a rather unhelthy fixaion on vampirs for som resin every time I try make a cericter it all most all ways cums out as a vampir or somthing like a vampire I whunder why???

Me and Nightray as partners?? Pssah nobody would believe that would happen. lmao (check the Superhero league to see what I am talking about) I mean really that would never happen

LOL

*throws up hands in amused surrender*
However you guys want to handle it is fine by me. 'ray, if you can play a character that the good guys could get along with, I don't see why you couldn't be an heroic vampire. Or, we could have multiple, non-associated villains. We'll see how it goes...
