Baron Kraig Kormaldi​

Description:

32 years old

Background:

The Kormaldi Keep

Gained the title of Baron of Kormaldi at age 28, upon his father's assassination (which he suspects occurred at the behest of the Sultan or the his "lackeys", some of whom are thought to be plotting behind the Sultan's back to take more power for themselves personally).

Has led his troops into battle on numerous occasions, and always from the front, never from the safety of the rear. Has great respect of his men and of his people.

His Barony is on the verge of financial ruin because:

1. He gives too much of his wealth to the people.
2. He refuses to tax the poor.
3. He pays too much in taxes to the Sultan. (See "Taxes".)
4. He supplies more than his share of troops to the King's war, an expense that he pays, not the Sultan.
5. And his father was forced in surrendering a Mountain Pass to the Sultan, an asset which had previously gained the Barony a fortune in Toll Levies from Teamsters, Traders, and Travelers.

He first asked the Sultan for financial relief; then pleaded for it; and now, with this kidnapping, is forcing it.

Edited and expanded upon (9 Aug 2011): He is not married and has no recognized heir, although he has two bastard children: the first is a 12 years old, the son of the Courtesan to whom Kormaldi lost his virginity at age 15; and the second 6 years old, a girl born by his second cousin, Hanna, who continues to be one of his Lovers.

>>> Description of Hasini's physical appearance: She removed the last of her clothes letting her chemise puddle at her feet. Her skin was flawless. As was the custom for high-born women, she was also devoid of all body hair from the neck down. Her waist was slim and blossomed into luscious hips. Dimples accentuated the curve of her lower back just above her peach-like bottom. Her breasts were high and round. Her nipples that looked like they had been stained with the juice of plums.
