OOC: Heart of Darkness

I have an idea for a thread which I would like to throw at you all and I hope that you like the idea enough to want to be a part of this.

Okay, here is the idea. My character is a vampire who has been basically been roaming the world for centuries and has tried to live his life on the side of good although it has been hard for him to do so. He has come to a large city to live for a while but as soon as he came to the city he came upon something that he did not count on- a reincarnation of his wife.

His wife was taken from him when he was turned into what he was by his best friend who is now his worst enemy. They have been battling each other for centuries but before he can kill his enemy things always happen to stop it.

He wants to go to the person who is his reincarnated wife and hope that he can make her into what he is and finally live a good life with her. There is only one problem- he now has someone that he has become very close to and she loves him as well and his enemy is in the city. He has found out about my character's wife and thinks he can manipulate him into a trap to kill him.

All I need is someone to be Alic's enemy, his reincarnated wife, the one that he is close to and anyone that you can think of.

I like your idea...I wouldn't mind playing Alic's new love interest, if you like. I assume she's mortal? Give me a little more of what you have in mind for her character, & I'll post a character for you.

Okay.... with Alic's new love she knows what Alic really is and is love with the idea. She wants to be with him, to share her life with him but she doesn't know if she is willing to take that step to become a vampire. She is a strong willed person who is willing to do whatever she can to protect Alic. She is very forthcoming with her feelings and can somehow tell if something is wrong with Alic.

I was thinking of a Tom Cruise type vampire, who has embraced the way of death, and loves turning other souls to its foul ways.

John Terrace.
642 years old.
Bright blonde hair, crystal green eyes.

tall masculine build.

The only character I need now is the wife as that is an extremely important character.

Way back I had a go at a similar type of thread with you ie. reincarnated wife, but it folded early on. (Was never sure why)

I could give the wife a go once more, but if you'd rather not write with me again for whatever reason, that's fine.
Understand if you want a "new" slant on the character.

Either way will read along ... as ever, it sounds a good story plot.

Thanks for those kind words hun, but don't want to monopolise the wife role. I don't offend easy and wouldn't want Angelus to feel coerced into letting me play a wifey role again.
It might need a "new edge" beyond what I can offer.

You know I love your writing also ... seems we've done a few larger cast threads, but not actually "played" together ... as yet ...

Yes it seems you have missed this thread.

An OOC thread is where the story starter posts ideas and invites people to offer ideas and characters to the main story.

The thread you posted to was the story written "In character".

You needed to write here first to introduce your idea and have it accepted by Angelus as the story belongs to him.

The reason for an OOC thread of the same title is to allow writers to discuss story ideas without spoiling the flow of the actual story once it gets started.

That's probably not entirely clear, but my advice would be to stick around ... read and see how things are done.
(Some stories are closed and should not be written to without an invitation, though generally it is best to PM - private message - a story starter before jumping in unless the story is marked OPEN)

It's very confusing, but there are lots of people around to help.

Oh shit... how stupid of me.

I forgot to mention one very important thing.

John, Alic's enemy was his best friend in medieval times- in fact they were knights. They were in a battle together and Alic saw John fall.... he thought that John was dead and abondoned him on the battle field. John was found by a vampire close to death who gave him a proposition and told him that he could get revenge. John readily agreed and after he was turned seeked revenge against his friends, the ones who had left him on the battle field. That is why he turned Alic and killed his wife- so that Alic will live forever completely alone.

Hi all!

Hope my posts weren't too confusing and that they are consistent with the story we think we're all telling.

Nicola (Nikki) is the wife's name in this incarnation.

John has been taking his revenge by allowing her to reincarnate time and time again.
In each life she has never lived beyond the age of 21.
(perhaps she was 21 when she died the first time?)
In earlier times, her deaths were violent, but unremarkable, but always at the hands of another, a male.

Her character has never married - apart from in her existence with Alic - and never borne children.

Over the last 3 incarnations the deaths have become more horrific and more publicised.
(all the deaths were real cases that I tweaked slightly datewise.
The details are authentic)

In this incarnation he is going to change the rules of the game.
Instead of keeping wife and Alic separate he is going to truly make Alic suffer and allow him to recognise her.
Perhaps that is his new game?
To try to get Alic to save her in every life and watching his anguish when he fails ... time and again?

Hope you don't mind me writing up what I've understood the outlines are from PM discussions.

Unless anyone wants to PM me any requests for Nikki as to her apparence and details of her present mortal life, I'll create a character and put her in motion.

She's now 18 - due to be 19 in October.
That and her name is all that is decided so far.

Lelani is the Childe of John Terrace's and is one of the most know among the vampire comunity due to her thrist and her beauty. She was first turned when she was young working her first job on the pinapple plantation of Hawaii. OJohn Terrace was a night traveler who seduced her one night outside her families hut and turned her into what she now is.

John took her back to Europe where she developed a liking of the history and the clothing instead of her flimsy dreses. She developed a love for the corsets and leather and velvets of the time and kept that stlye through the future

Re: Nikki

Considered many possibilities for Nikki and finally decided to make her a student - art and design - her ambition to be a fashion designer.

As she is 18 now, I wanted her to appear young and especially innocent, even sheltered.
(Fits in with the previous victims)

Love your comments re the similarities between her appearance and "Melissa's".

I thought that she could be a much younger version of Alic's wife when she was killed.
She died at 21, Nikki is 18.
Perhaps an added wrench seeing his "wife" optimistic, hopeful, carefree - unaware of the fate to come ... or subsequent/past fates?

Perhaps this is how Melissa looked when Alic first met her?
Or perhaps Nikki is younger than Melissa was at their first meeting.

Just a few ideas.

Maybe, just maybe Nikki can have dreams that she has every night about her old lives, they are very vivid but when she wakes up she forgets about them although she has the feeling that she is missing something.

I can do that ... I read around the stories of the "Past lives" I posted.

I think that would be interesting.

Perhaps it's the first time she's had any kind of "recall" from the past.

It could be because Alic is close?
