OOC: Harry Potter Prequel

I tried starting this thread many moons ago. Back before the movie came out. It didn't work very well because not everyone knew the story. Now that half the Western world has see the film, I'd like to try this thread again.

It's a story that would take place before Harry Potter's parents were killed.

Some of the possible characters include:

James Potter
Lily Potter (I'd play her)
Lord Voldemort
Sirius Black
Albus Dumbledore
Minerva McGonagall
Severus Snape
Lucius Malfoy
Rubeus Hagrid

Too many to name really. Anyway this would be an adult story, based on the information alluded to in the children's books. The action would cover Voldemort's rise to power and his attempt to take over the magical world.

I have interst in the thread, especially the part of Voldemort, though I have only read the original book once, and seen the movie. I feel I need to brush up a bit on my history surrounding the books... however, if you think, with some limited understanding, one could pull of You Know Who, I'd love a shot at it.

Darkthought, I'm sure we can answer any question that you might have. The movie and first book will give you a good basis to work from though. Just PM me if you have any questions about Voldemort or post them here.

A thought-

By my calculations, we only have Grandmage on the side of evil. How's this for a suggestion? As far as I know, the books never specifically mentioned how the wizard got his power in the Dark Arts. Just that he acquired them on him travels. Perhaps I could introduce a character, a very beautiful dark witch who fell in love with Voldemort and taught him all her families secrets. He, of course, uses her to further his gains. I could play both parts if we can't find someone.

And yes, I was the first Tom Marvolo Riddle, and the greatest of all! With a flick of his wrist, the wand, thirteen-an-a-half inches of yew sliced through the air, a stream of brilliant sparks erupting into the room.

Hmmm. Actually, now that I think about it. I'm not the best. More like second to worst....yeahh,.....
