Nightstalkers, the building

• It includes the club where Evan Campbell initially disappeared.
• It belongs to Delilah.

Timeline which includes helpful details worth remembering.

Main Characters:

• Emilia Kane: (image yet to be chosen by my writing mate)
• ? Campbell (female character yet to come); sister of Evan Campbell.
• Evan Campbell: brother of (name yet to come); disappeared in a Manhattan nightclub, Nightstalkers, the incident that initiates the story.

Secondary Characters:

• Paula Dean: former girlfriend of Evan Campbell.
• Rose: image -- waitress at Nightstalkers.

"Timeline"​

Post #1 (August-through October):

August: Evan Campbell left his small, rural hometown to attend Columbia University in Manhattan on full scholarship.

September:

• Evan met Paula Dean and began dating her; no sex, unfortunately for him.
• Paula and their friends talked him into going to a Manhattan dance club, Nightstalkers; it was known as a meat market, with rent-by-the-hour rooms on several floors above.
• That first Saturday night, everything changed for Evan:
  • He became obsessed with Nightstalkers.
  • He returned there with ever increasing regularity, without his friends more often as time passed.
  • He regularly didn't return to his dorm until sunrise the mornings after.
  • He began failing in his classes.
  • He never attempted to sleep with Laura.

October:

• Laura told Evan that they were through.
• He was very apathetic about it.
• Then, on Hallowe'en night, Evan Campbell simply ... vanished.

February of the next year:

• Feb 2:
  • (#2) Evan's sister, Iris Campbell, arrived in Manhattan. She is directed to Nightstalkers by Paula.
  • (#3) At Nightstalkers:
    • Iris meets Rose, a waitress who suggests that she just let her brother be.
    • When Iris says she can't (#4), Rose suggests they meet the next day (#5).
• Feb 3:
  • Iris and Rose -- now without her Goth makeup and clothes -- meet at a cafe (#6 and onward).
  • Rose tells Iris that Evan fell in with a cult. (#7)

Nightstalkers
(the building)

The Building:

• 16 floors in overall height (described in Post #16).
  

  • There are many taller buildings in the city on both sides of the river.​
  • But no taller buildings are between it and the park and the city. (See "Delilah's Penthouse" for more.)​
• Discotheque:
  

  • 1st: central dance floor, with bars and booths surrounding it on a mezzanine 3 steps above.​
  • 2nd: a floor of wall hugging booths and, at the railing looking down upon the dance floor, tables; two more corner bars serve the customers there.​
  • 3rd: the club's office, which has one-way mirrors tilted outward to allow for a full view of the dance floor.​
• Rooms for hourly/nightly rental.
  

  • 4th-6th floors:​
  • The front desk is on the 4th floor.​
• 7th-15th floors are as-of-yet-undescribed.​
• 16th floor is Delilah's Penthouse (described below).​

Delilah's Penthouse:

• First introduced here:
  

  • Her penthouse occupies the entire topmost, 16th floor.​
  • Described as "...6,000 square feet of elegantly decorated heaven.​
  • "There was a considerable amount of artwork, from statuary to paintings to abstract creations that would drive some people to ask Is that art?​
  • "Some of the works were modern creations, while others were possibly centuries old."​
• The living area was described as:
  

  • "...a large living area with couches and armchairs;​
  • "a sunroom with chaise lounges and a hot tub;​
  • "a large kitchen made for throwing equally large parties;​
  • "and [entering a hallway] open doors leading to four bedrooms;​
  • "a fifth door at the end of the hallway was closed." Even though it was not explained, this is Delilah's bed chamber.​
• A private elevator serves it, allowing controlled access to every floor of the building.​
• The view:
  

  • Floor to ceiling windows occupy two full walls.​
  • They look out upon the city, the park, the river, and the cityscape opposite the river.​
  • The view from Delilah's penthouse was described as "But as there were no taller buildings between it and the park and, beyond it, the river, the cityscape on the other side of the river was still spectacular."​
• Iris's bedroom:
  

  • One of the 4 bedrooms off the hall was offered to Iris.​
  • It includes:
    

    • A large, canopied bed.​
    • A vanity with three mirrors and makeup lights.​
    • A sitting area with more couches, armchairs, and a coffee table.​
    • An impressive bathroom with a huge bathtub.​
    • And a walk-in closet filled with clothes, shoes, and accessories.​
    • ​
