So, this is my first idea. Not entirely my 'own' idea. I've been apart of a RPG for the last month or two, and I've been pulling ideas from there. Bear with me.
Basically, the story arc is placed around the year.. 300 - 800. Printed paper has just been invented (As it's not canon to the actual world.)
There are six different (Main) villages. Wanderer's Valley, Danarium, Alteros, Tilandre, Byson, Frostvale. The races available are; Oscuri (Will be explained later), Ookami (Same as Oscuri), Nekomata (Same as Oscuri), Human, Drakanite (Same as Oscuri), Elves, Vampires, Werewolves, Faerie, Yokai.
Before any questions are asked; nope. This is not the typical Vampire VS Werewolf thing.
Humans - The main race. Almost all races of subcategories for this one.
Oscuri - Humans that have been cursed by the will of Azrael (The God of Death). Only able to learn Light/Dark Magic.
Ookami - Humans cursed by Tilde (Goddess of the Hunt). They bear wolf ears, and have extraordinary reflexes, their hearing is significantly improved, with humanoid eyesight. *Able to learn all magic, but potency is significantly reduced.
Nekomata - Humans cursed by Tilde. They bear cat ears, and have cat-like pupils. Seeing is significantly improved, with reflexes equivalent to an Ookami, but hearing is mundane. *Able to learn all magic, but potency is significantly reduced.
Drakanite - Human/Dragon crossbreeds. Miracles of Kraus, and are created by the joining of a Dragon and Human who truly love one another, to the point where the seed of one can transcend the boundaries of race for another. Strength is extraordinarily improved. Eyesight and hearing is mundane, but reflexes are increased to match that of a Nekomata and Ookami. *Able to learn all Magi, reduced potency for all except that of Fire. Fire Magic is extremely potent.
Elves - Humans that have given their souls to Tilde, by unknown Magics, and have become one with nature. Very few. Seeing, smell, magical capabilities, and hearing are all increased. Strength doesn't compare on the scale as a Drakanite. Senses do not surpass that of the others, but are overall better than a Human. *Retains the ability to use all magic effectively, and has a strong love for Nature magic in particular.
Vampires - Humans that have been cursed by Azreal. Their souls have been stripped of them and sealed away with Azreal himself. Their reflexes, strength, eyesight, hearing and smell far surpass the other races, and are only matched by Werewolves. *Loses the ability to use any type of magic. VERY few in number. They hunt solo, unless romantically involved with another.
Werewolves - Humans that have been blessed by Tilde. Their souls have been given to Tilde as offerings for power. Their reflexes, strength, eyesight, hearing and smell far surpass those of the other races, and are only matched by Vampires. *Loses the ability to use any type of magic. VERY few in number. They hunt in packs.
Faerie - Tiny little critters that are always female. So very rare to see, and even harder to catch, that finding and selling one can set a person for their entire lifetime, and still give enough money to race their great-grand children. Their corpses give off enough Magical essence to restore the Magical abilities of almost anything.
Yokai - Creatures created by Azreal. They are the spawn of the Devil himself, in the world of Eternia. They are looked down upon by all, and hated by all, except the Oscuri. The Oscuri and Yokai were both 'created' by the same being. As such, Yokai will see Oscuri as allies. Yokai feed on one another to become stronger. In order, they rank, from lowest to strongest:
Lesser, Mundane, Greater, Kaor, Imperfect, Perfect.
There has only ever been one Perfect Yokai in all of existence. That single Yokai almost destroyed Valmasia.
