OOC: Earth 2202 - Casting call

Hey ya' peoples.

I am thinking of starting a new RP thread. Earth 2202.

What I am thinking of, is having the Human race split up into two groups. One group living on the Moon , the other on Earth.

This is based 200 years i n the future, so we have good technology and all, space travel, laser weapons, anti-gravity device, that kinda thing.

The Moon is covered by a city. That group now wants to take back Earth, due to lack of space to build o n the Moon.

We haven't explored out side of our Solar System, and we haven't been able to colignise Mars yet.

The Moon group and Earth group split in 2058 when a Virus broke out on Earth, killing 24 %of Earth's population. Then is when thos e who could, moved to the Moon, to some day invent a cue for this Virus and move back to Earth.

Those which where left on Earth, menaged to fi nd their o wn cue for the virus in 2084. The group on te Moon didn't find out untill 2158.

The Earth group, pissed off at the Moon group for leaving the m to die, refused to let the Moon group back on Earth ... Therefor a war broke out between the two groups.

Now in 2202, the groups continue to fight. Both groups having weak and strong points... One weak point the two groups have in commen is that neither focus attention to the stars, leaving a possabilty for an Alien invasion.

Both groups have a Conciel in charge, 2 heads are better then one kinda thing. The Earth group has a Cobnciel of 5, where is the Moon group have a Conciel of 6.

The names for each group are to be dicded by everyone who wants to play in this. The Virus, has y et to be called anything, so we can also ha v e to dicide that.

No Ali ens have to be i n this. It is only a possiablity.

As for any ideas I have one.... not sure if it could work though.

Have some type of main weapon- either a viral or a laser capable of destroying a city or half a country.

It is just a thought though.

I like the idea... But I think it may be t powerful... Maybe it could take a lot of energy, making it unable to be used alot... And/or not having it destroy a ciy or half a county...

Okay.... the laser idea is kinda stupid but I have an idea that might work.

You could start this thread with there being a truce in the fighting between the moon and the Earth but then something (I'm not sure what) will start it and intensify it.

There could be a large group of commandos in there as well.

Thereason agaisnt the laser is, a way to wipe out the enamy to easy and to fast.

I like the idea of a truce, and something sets them off again... Good idea.

Kool I'm in if you know I'm allowed but first a few things to be said. 1: Orlanth I'm a huge fan of Star Wars seen all the movies cept Attack of the Clones and I've read a good few books. 2: I think the assassination idea and I'd really be thank ful if I could be one of the commando's possibly the only one... I know I'm greedy 3: I don't know but I'll come up with number 3. Ok so thats al for now I'll make my char when you decide on the assassiantion thing.

An assassination would happen only if someone or some people would benefit from continued hostilities between Earth and the Moon.

Maybe an arms dealer? A radical group opposed to peace?

Or maybe an alien posing as a human to create disunity

i'm interested....

what about some small group of incredibly wealthy peoples living on an asteroid in the belt, selling weapons to both sides, and fighting their own little war just to keep those roles interesting, they could be the shit distubers. make the things they sell to earth, go blow up some moon freighters, and then dump the earth cargo. that could cause an outburst, so they could have an active fighting role too. i think thats pretty good.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This may sound stupid but, what if an alien scout tells both sides that an race of alien forces are prepairing to kill them all? And the two sides have to work together?

What about having it set as a war.... I know that it already is but in the middle of it all have this group trying to either stop it and bring back peace or running around causing even more trouble.
