OOC: Dune

Hey people, I am thinking of starting a Dune thread. Any on interested? I am think of a storyline, not following the novals story line. IE: The end of spice production by Muad'dib or the destruction of Dune. I mean like have the Spacing Guild, Landsradd, Emperor and all that, but have our own story line, and take off afther the invasion of the Bene Taliku on Ix against House Varnius. But also change the story line to fit who we want to be.

Any ideas are wlcomed.

Well, before I start I want some more people to be ready to join. I already got a basic idea of the story line. But I will sleep on the idea, and let any one have their input. Dune fans only, because the Dune universe is hard to understand, ands only those who have a good knowlage on Dune will be able to understand.

i'm new here and to text RPG's in general, but i'm in. i love the dune series tho' the first book was the best (as is typical). i thought the new "prequals" were pretty faithful to the older series.

as for idea lines...i'll leave that for the more experienced...for now...

Ok, well I am think of changing things a little, like give Vladimir Harkonnen a son. And have his son have a fight for to be the heir. Thats only for the Harkonnen so far.

As I said, feel free to post ideas.

We won't follow the story line. What we will do is take off from one point of the story, and make it ours. Like insteat of House Atreides going to Dune as a set up to then surpposable end of Atreides. We could have it so House Atreides does not go, therefor the emperor's plan wont work.

Thats an exaple of what we can do, we can do what we want to the story line. Please, any one, post ideas so we can get a story line to get this going..

here's a couple ideas:
1. jessica did what she was supposed to and had a daughter rather than paul. we could go from the daughter and feyd having the boy child that might be the kwisatz haderach.

or one i like better:
2. we could be a band of fremen. thread could be about when they first get to arrakis. or fighting against the harkonnens (way before the atreides show up). or it could be when the first reverend mother (sayyadina) shows up to "spread the word" so to speak.

personally, i've always been fascinated by the bene gesserit. i know they're not really covering them in detail in this 3 volume prequal, but maybe, someday..

Hey, I think this is a kick ass Idea! Dune rocked and the books done by Frank Herbert's son were actually pretty good.

I like the idea of the fremen just arriving on dune. It leaves a lot of holes for us to fill in...

I like this idea of the Freme's arrival as well. I also like the idea of the Fremen fighting House Harkonnen. If we do have the Harkonnens in it, I want to be the Baron

But, any ideas are welcomed.

All who want to be apart of this, just say say as soon as you can. I have a basic idea of a story line, my idea is the main focus be on the Freman, the time be around when Vladimiar toke over as ruler of the Harkonnes. This is only a basic idea, what do you guys and gals think? AS always, I'm open for ideas, I would like to get this started soon, so if you have any ideas, post them please, you guys and gals have as much input in this like I, so post awa.y
