I had an idea for a thread that would follow the story from the original Dune novel. The concept would center around two friends (or perhaps brothers) that are soldiers in the Atreides army. They would be split up during the attack that killed Duke Leto and sent Paul and Jessica to the Fremen. In a way, the two would share similar fates. One would be rescued and adopted by the Fremen, the other would be enslaved by the Harkonnen (or maybe the Emporer's Sardaukar). Each would be assumed into the new lifestyle, and come to face each other years later in the battle when Paul overthrows the Empire.
The one that goes with the Fremen is taken in by a warrior woman who guides him in the ways of the Fremen, and the two quickly become lovers. The one that is taken by the Harkonnen (or Sardaukar) becomes slave, bodyguard (or gladiator), and lover to a rich noblewoman.
I would play the part of the Fremen taken Atreides, if anyone is interested in the other roles, or has other ideas for the thread, reply here to discuss.
