OOC: Dredd - more players needed

I have a thread going (Judge Dredd) which is developing quite nicely. However, I need more players.

If you are interested, here is the very basic storyline:

An evil organisation (similar to SPECTRE in James Bond for example) are planning to overthrow the ruling Judge system (City Government/Police) using genetically enhanced clones to replace key personel.

Judge Dredd is one of the good guys who has to stop it.

Parts already in use:

Dredd (presently played by myself)

Humes (high-ranking member of the evil organisation and played by myself).

Selina (another high-ranking member of the evil organisation and, for the moment, played by me).

Weaselly (member of the evil organisation and played by the GrandMage).

Inez (played by THEBRAT).

Chief Judge Hershey (leader of the Judges and at present played by no-one).

Judge Hardsteen (bent Judge and played by no-one)


As you can see the odds are pretty stacked against the hero and I need your help to balance those odds.

Judge Dredd - The Thread

First there was the comic strip, then the film (which I think really didn’t do the character justice) and now, hopefully, there is the thread.

Like the strip and film, this thread should be played with tongue firmly in cheek.

It is the year 2123. Welcome to Mega-City One, a vast metropolis of 400 million citizens where crime spirals out of control, and only the Judges can prevent total anarchy.

Riding the streets on their futuristic bikes called Lawmasters, Judges are empowered to dispense instant justice, combining the roles of judge, jury and executioner into one.

Most feared and respected of them all is Judge Dredd – he is the law.

Some keywords.

Lawgiver: Judge’s firearm. Can shoot six different types of shells. General purpose, rubber ricochet, incendiary, armour piercing, grenade and high explosive. Additional note: If attempted to be used by an unauthorised person, it simply self-destructs, taking the person's hand with it.

Lawmaster: Judge’s computer controlled 4000cc bike. Apart from a big bike, has a cannon which is far more powerful than a modern day tank.

Grud: Mega-City term for God.

Drokk: A swear word.

Creep: A term a Judge use to describe a criminal or anyone he/she doesn’t like.

Perp: A term a Judge use to describe a criminal.

Lawbreaker: A term a Judge use to describe a criminal.

Futsie: Person suffering from future shock, who cannot take the pace of modern living. Can happen to anyone, anytime.

SJS: Special Judical Squad. Judges who judges the Judges.

Psi-Division: Consisting of Psi-Judges who have various types of psychic powers.

Chief Judge: Leader of the Judges and unofficial ruler of the city.

The Grand Hall of Justice: Main headquarters of the Judges.

Iso-Blocks: Prisons.

I’ll, of course, be playing Dredd. You have got a multitude of characters to choose from such as Chief Judge Barbara Hershey, Psi-Judge Cassandra Anderson, Judge Giant, Mean Machine Angel, Otto Sump, etc… or you can make a character up. It is completely up to you. (If you want any other official character, PM me and I can give you suggestions).

Note: The characters are based on the 2000 AD comic strip rather than the movie. However, if the film is the only point of reference, then by all means use it.

Special Note: I would like to apologise to creators John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra in advance. However, I will point out I plan to keep Dredd in character which will mean that he will not be partaking in any sexual acts himself and if anyone tries to initiate any with him, will liable to be arrested or shot (or both). After all, as the man says: He is the law! However, all the other characters are fair game.

Rookie Judge Samson

All right, I'll give this a go. Judge Samson is fresh out to the Academy of Law which she entered at age four. Early on, she accepted the necessity of becoming a judge and internalized the drive to excel. This being the case, Sampson tends to be conflicted about the path she chose when she was still a child. Intelligent beyond all imagining, she uses her intellect as her greatest weapon, trying to work her way around any situation. In other word's, deep down, she's the closest thing Mega-City One has to a bleeding heart liberal. She simply hates to execute people.

Sounds good

Sounds like she is possibly the first in the line of new generation of Judges where they are more caring, etc... unlike Dredd who would soon arrest them and throw away the key.

I like it.
