OOC: Dragon Wars II

Ok folks, some of you may remember the old Dragon Wars thread that was started quite a while ago. It lasted for a good long time, so hopefully people will be interested in the concept again. If I get enough interest here in the OOC thread , then I will post the main thread by Sunday.

Here is the idea:

You are role playing as the Dragons themselves. There are two tribes of them, Evil and Good. Players may also play as other characters such as Humans, Elves, Dwarfs ect.... , but they will need to find ways to interact with the dragons.

EVIL DRAGONS :

Black - The largest and strongest of the dragons. Not always the brightest, but are normally the leaders due to their strength. They are normally around 60 feet long nose to tail. Their breath weapon is acid that is poisonous and corrosive.

Green - The next largest size of dragons, mostly known for their cruelty and malicious intelligence. They are around 50 feet long nose to tail. Their breath weapon is a cone of cold.

Red - The smallest of the dragon species, able to survive due to their cunning and their special ability to cast some magic spells from scrolls that they find. They are scarcely 30 feet long nose to tail. Their breath weapon is fire.


GOOD DRAGONS:

Gold - The largest of the good dragons. They have exceptional intelligence and have been known to make friends with other good races. They are normally around 55 feet long nose to tail. Their breath weapon is a bolt of lightning.

Silver - The middle size of good dragons, they have normal human intelligence, but are more introverted than other dragons. They prefer to be left alone, mostly living in overgrown forests. Their breath weapon is a cloud of sleep gas, that is powerful to effect even other dragons. They measure 45 feet from nose to tail.

White - The smallest of the good dragons, they are of average intelligence. They are only 35 feet nose to tail, but make up for the lack of size with the ability to cast some clerical healing spells. Their breath weapon is fire, coming out in the shape of a ball and exploding on impact.

Ok, there you have it in a nutshell. There are lots of ways to go with this so if anyone has any earth shattering ideas, PM me. Obviously there will be male and female versions of all the dragons.

Do you have use for a female red dragon half? IE human form with dragon's tails, breath power to a limited degree, wings that allow flight and ability to speak dragonic and human languages.
Born from a mating between a human priestess of the evil dragon's god's and a matching dark dragon priest.
If not I'll play a Red Dragonness if you like.

As a matter of fact, that sounds just fine to me. Like I posted, there are tons of ways we can go. I am just posting the idea, we can all take it from there.

Though one thing I forgot to post in the original post was that all dragons are able to polymorph at will to human form, even those with no other magic abilities.

I am off to try and pull the original thread back up . This is different than the original but may give people ideas.

Age: 796
Height at Shoulder: 10 feet
Length: 35 feet

Background: Fiandorel is a White Dragon, younger than most, and her quickness of tongue often attests to that fact. She is willful in a way uncommon to the whites, but has a strong conviction in her principles of truth and honor bright.

Looks:
Eyes: Deep red, almost black, with a ring of silver
Dragon- 31 feet from tip to tail, a bright scarlet with a single streak of silver running from right above her eyes back behind her ears and partway down her neck.
Human: 5'7" lethe figure, can't seem to keep weight on though she eats like a horse- too much magic used to gain weight. Long red hair that touches the small of her back with a streak of silver running through it. Tends to run about in black leather and chain mail in silver.
Bio: born of a half red half silver dragon male and a fulll red dragonness who was also a high priestess, Sylvia is something different entirely. A priestess herself she has erned the respect of her fellow red dragons, despite her mixed heritage. She more then makes up for it with her magic and cunning. A smidge blood thirsty and wants the best for her people, the rest of the world's inhabitants be damned.
She's relatively young but experianced in the world, having traveled in human form as a Cleric of her choosen Diety.

What the silver is already present! What happens when I play a cross breed of gold on white now! Okay now Zyzzx may make a return, or perhaps Char will. I still feel I never got to Zyzzx full potential because I killed him off and all, man that was a bummer but at least he went down fighting.

What about dragon politics? Are they similar, the exception being the Gray dragon of coarse. Eldest of each kind rule, a bunch of evil ones where exiled all of that?

Actually Cats, things are not as strict this time. There are no Grays, just the six that are listed in the initial post. We can pretty much go anyway on this. One idea that I had was for the Good and Evil dragons be allied with other races on the world, such as Elves, Humans, Orcs, Ogres ect..... Then maybe they are brought into a conflict because of this. Any other ideas are welcome too.

Hello all. Found the Thread and since the others I was in are dwindling I hope I can join this one.... So here is my character and you can decide if youd like me aboard.

Dragon Name: Gloomfaust

Dragon Description: Gloomfaust is a green dragon standing 13 feet at the shoulder and 42 feet from nose to tip of tail. A deep scar runs across his left eye clouding it.

Human Alias: Rimuldar Gloomfaust

Human Description: Fiery red hair cascades down over his back, stopping just below his shoulder blades. Beneath the locks of errant hair, two jade green eyes - the left clouded by a noticable scar on his face- and a brattish smile that tugs at the corners of his lips. A black, long-sleeved silk tunic that clings to his hardened body is tucked into black leather pants. Black boots cover his feet, black steel gauntlets his forearms, and a hooded cloak with silver clasps shroud his form. He also wears a collar of black leather, a small skull wrought of pure silver dangling from a small steel ringlet. In this form Rimuldar stands about 6'2 and weighs around 230 lbs.

Background: Little if anything is known about this Green Dragon. The only look into his past is the scar on his face that speaks of prior conflict and struggle.

Hope that works for everyone, Im toying with the Idea of being a antagonist, perhaps having him stay in human form and being a dragonslayer in a quest to become the only dragon in existance, but I will have to speak with Chewey to work it all out.

Jeremy, that sounds like a fine idea. That would be the epitome of chaos if one of the evil dragons was out there trying to knock off all the others to be the last one standing ie Highlander. Mostly, I have just posted the idea so people can come up with some more thoughts so we can make a thread that will last. So any ideas are great.

Well DnD had an interesting game play idea. I'll throw it out here just for conversation.

But first I must mention the epic dragons. The two types are Force dragons which are made of force and have mastery over it. They are more or less transparent in color. The second is the much more powerful prismatic dragon which have a spectrum of colors violet, red, yellow, green, etc. They have mastery over light.

Any how the though would be that these two kinds of dragons declare themselves the only true dragon race and try and kill off every other dragon race.

So now you can converse on that idea as well. I personally like the the highlander idea.

Another Idea I talked with Chewey about in a PM was the underlying plot to the video game Lunar.

In the game there were Four heros who defended a goddess from Evil. One of the heros harnessed the power of dragons and was known as a Dragon Master. When the Dragon Master died the other heros moved to different places in the world and lived their lives. Now a new evil threatens the land and a new Dragon Master must be found. A young boy and his friends start searching for the 5 dragons and recieve a item from each dragon they meet and pass a trial that dragon sets forth.

Just a funny side note, one of the young boy's friends is very greedy and was only interested in finding the dragons so he could get a dragon diamond. The dragon diamond was a huge gem, but what the characters didnt know -The dragon said it to himself after the group left- was that all the dragon diamond was was a piece of shit, literally.

Maybe we could have some of these type interactions if things start to get slow on the thread. Would make some great Comedy Relief as in the latter sinerio.

This is exactly what I was looking for, some good discussion and ideas for the thread. The idea that Cats had for the transparent dragons would be fine. I would like to reserve them for myself so that it will keep you all on your toes. Jeremy has also given some great ideas as PM's. I plan on opening the thread this Sunday at some point with the opening post, so if anyone has any other ideas please post them up now so that they may be incorporated into the thread.

A green and black dragon.
He is totally black. The only green around him stems like spots on a dog, or a cow. The only difference is, instead of these spots being rounded, they are sharp, and have corners. It looks as if he's been through a vicious battle and left with all of these scars.

50 feet long. He got the best of both worlds when it came to being a dragon. Cunning and strong, just how every black and green longs to be. He is a vicious and determind young pup, who will let nothing stand in his way.

About 200 years old. Young in the status of dragons, but very already as big and strong as dragons twice his age.

He has an acid breath, that is cold. Not hot. Somewhere along the lines of liquid nitrogen. He is also able to cause fear. Mostly in lesser dragons, and the humanoid populations. It's a rare and strange gift, one he loves to use whenever possible.

Ok, so I jumped the gun a bit and started the thread tonight. I just had to since I had so much fun writing the first two posts. If everyone wants to take a couple of posts and introduce and flesh in your characters, set relationships ect..... that would be great. No hurry to get to the Dragon versus Dragon.
