Okay first I'd like to say this is a thread where players play as Dogs and Roosters and the the sort that walk up right and talk and hold hands while singing "Old Mc. Donald has a Farm." I hope this brings a sort of light hearted feel to a hi fantasy plot of finding out truth behind legends.

Right now I'm just taking an interest survey.

Okay suggestions or comments from any one are requested.

well, tis pretty hard to make any comments iffn there's not even an outline of a tentative idea for something that might later be considered for a plot and, since you started the thread.... :D

(feel tormented/rejected by all else of this board yet? cause if you feel tormented/rejected, good/don't be yet.)

So what, they walk on their back feet? Is that what you're saying? The cute, out-of-balance wway that dogs and bears do? Or to you mean the antropomorphic Disney-type of animals that wear unnecessary clothes but heavilly resemble the animal counterparts? Or are you talking about the heavy-human characteristics that vaguely resemble animals?

It sounds like some sort of basic version of the second one to me.

And the truth behind what legends? Why would they want to know?
And what type of animals would it be limited to?

For instance, could I play a North American Grizzly?

I think I'm interested. Maybe if you answered GM's questions I'd be more certain, and willing to offer suggestions or whatever. ;) Hope y'all don't mind a newbie around here jumping in on the fun.

yay for noobs, dude. yay for noobs. if he dosn't get on by thursday I'll make an attempt at either a) forcing him on or b) getting some kind of answer from him.

Sory for the Delay, some how I didn't expect a quick reply.

Okay Disney way except for being mechanical. Really the animal thing is an element of unrealism I wish to include.

As for why they are searching for Magic and dragons and such, thats each characters individual reason. Knowledge is good motivation in and of itself, some people are just driven that way. Perhaps it's an excuse to leave home, for some reason or another. Maybe a child was told legends as a child and simply can't stop believing in them. There are plenty of reasons.

What I really want to know first is when this sort of expedition would happen. I am thinking a late dark ages or maybe around the bone rush. So would you prefer Mummy style charas or more of a castle and knight kind of deal.

Hey Cats, what kind of animals would this be limited to, because I would love to play a tigress...

For those of you that don't know I am an avid fan of the tiger, my bedroom before we move had over 100 different tiger things on display ranging from calanders to statues to bed spreads to zoobooks...

in fact for birthdays and christmas the top thing on my list is generally "anything tiger related" and god if someone would give me a real tiger I would do whatever they wanted of me for the rest of my days, but that's besides the point...

Anyways so back to original question, what kind ofanimals would this be limited to?

Castles and knights.

And I'll join. But only if I can be a bear. A big fucking brown bear.

yeah, castles.

if I can I'll play two charas....here's my question though...do all the animals like, band together to like, find the dragon or summin? or do we all just go and bumble up TO the dragon and then encounter eachother, or do we ever even see eachother?

..... edited.....

Hmmm, would that include giving the tiger back?

Tigress is fine bear is fine Kitty is fine walrus is fine, fish we should avoid and whales are out of the question. All and all stick with land animals, including birds, but birds can't fly with there wings.

The plot will be more developed shortly since I now know Castles is an ever whelming victor. How ever the idea is basically this, stories of places like Avalon, (final resting place of king Aurthur,) are well known through out the world, stories of hero's that slay-ed dragons, trolls that would come at night and steal children, and the like are a focal point of this thread. The simple truth is that magic simply can not be found or seen by any one any more and enough time has gone by since it was last seen that people are beginning to think it was always just stories and not real. How ever there is a desire to get magic back. A village elder is sick and dieing, every one has done what they can but he is still dieing. So now the only thing that could possibly save him would be magic.

Enter the group, the players are basic people/animals trying to find magic and a way to save him. or that is the official reason, obviously any one could have there own motive for joining the group.

Keep in mind this I'm still refineing this, don't expect me to have it up and running until monday at the earliest.

Woooo!
Well, given that brief rundown of the plot, I'm thinking I'd like to play a wolf. Maybe a former bandit-type who renounced his evil ways and his old identity to pursue a more peaceful (possibly spiritual) life in said village. At some point the villagers uncovered the truth about his past and wanted to ostrasise him, but the elder (whom he had become good friends with) stuck up for him and persuaded the rest of the village to give him a second chance. Therefore, when the elder gets sick, he's among the first to volunteer to help in any way. A bit gruff and a bit of a loner, but on the whole a genuine fellow.

Will that work?

heh. i'll go with the zebra idea cats and I thought up earlier...and prolly summin not-quite-flighty, a kiwi bird or emu or summin.

I'll post character stuffs next weekish iffn that's kosher. (and don't worry...my IC stuff is kept formal and not full of summin's and made up words.)

Wolf idea is fine. Zebra idea will probably work. Kitty is fine. But Moon you said anything!

Well I'll be a Tigress

And Cats...I guess weather I would give it back or not would depend on how long I got to keep it.

Just long enough that you relise it's beter in a more natural envoirment and doesn't belong in your back yard.

Hmm... I guess I'll join...

Has anybody taken a fox yet?

No animal can really be "taken" but all the same no one is playing as a fox.

Well here is the main plot with a few more details, as for names I use I'm using pet names I've had over the years.

The village of Coast Side is a small island town a short distance aways from the main land on boat it takes about two days to travel. There are two other towns on the island Porton, and Ridge Top. The island is full of various pines and ever green trees and it's population survive by finishing and trading, eating a diet of mostly fish. As far as the local government is concerned, each village has a head reporting to a mayor on the mainland. That mayor has a rough idea of how many citizens are in each village and collects taxes once every month. Now on to the real political power, each village has one or two elders who discus trading agreements fishing and land rights and other matters of importance to the islands people.

The town of Coast side is at the far end of the island and consists of no more then 107 people, this town is surrounded by water on one side and forest on the other the trees being pine a soft wood, are strictly unsuitable for any activity involving stress upon the wood such as ships or crates, but still the town does have a few lumberjacks. Ridge Top is located at the edge of a cliff on the east side of the island and has a fair amount of space. The town was the first on the island the location of a fort meant to warn the mainland of an invading fleet, since then the forttress has been removed and a torch maintained light house still remains. As a result the shores off of Ridge top tend to be the side of preferred travel. One could even visit the small town of 42 if they are capable of reaching the small dock and then climbing the 140 or so stairs. Lastly the town of Porton, arguably the capitol of the island is closest to the main land they have a fairly large amount of land available for crops that very few seem to use. An odd note is that the forests are several miles away and the one shipyard of the island happens to be in Porton, as a result logs are moved by boat o this town to be made into small one man ships. Also most trading happens here.

Now the elder of Coast yard a feline named PC, simply because his parents didn't trust fancy city vowels, has become ill as off late, his disease has been called everything from mumps to small pox by the local folks, but the Doctor said it was terminal gingivitis, or some other fancy word, truth is it didn't matter what it was their elder couldn't volunteer to discus politics any more, and would die soon, how soon they did not know, possibly a few months possibly as long as two years. If any cure could be found it'd have to be magic in nature.

Silly me I should of posted a Sample Character before asking every one else to make characters.

Name: Black Jack
Race: Young Cat
Occupation: Aprentice Carpenter
Age: 19
Hait: Black and white splotched
Build: A lean young man, with a fairly some what long tail.
Eyes: Green
BIO: Black Jack was an aprentice at the local carpenter of Coast Side, he would spend long hours working on chairs but never seemed to get them quite right, forunetly the master carpenter was capable of fixing his few mistakes with little trouble.

Ocasionaly he would visit the town elder PC and sit on his porch listening to stories, a practice he can't quite recall starting but somthing he has done fairly often since he first started, which was four or so years ago. Amoung his favorite stories where those of Buddy who saved his kingdom from the invasion of the coyote tribes many, years ago, he was said to be th greatest of the kings his country has ever known.
