hi, all are welcome. if you just want to come here and kick back then you can. if you wanna toss an idea or two around you can do that too. or if you're looking for people to talk to and possibly drum up some players for a thread, you're definitely in the right place.

well, i guess i could start off about telling you all a little about myself...

my name is richard, i have just finished my first year at the university of califonia, davis. i'm planning on transferring to a community college for my sophomore year because it's less expensive and then going for my junior year back to ucd. i am double majoring in international relations and chinese (not just the language).

i have a wonderful fiancee named Cindy who i asked to marry me after only a month. we are still together and plan to be married after college.

my plans and goals in life are to become an embassador, or at least work in an embassy to china or taiwan. unfortunately due to the china taiwan conflicts, it doesn't seem that the US is going to have one setup in taiwan.

i love to chat and talk with friends. i'm pretty amiable, but can sometimes have a temper. i came across this site not exactly by accident. like most of the people here, i'm sure we were looking at something that people under 18 and sometimes 21 shouldn't be seeing according the US law, but i noticed this banner and figured hmmm...give it a look.

i like politics but have fallen out of the loop since bush became the prez. i was very disappointed. although i voted for gore, i would've voted for 4 more years of clinton. i just like the guy. forget that oval office nookie shit. so what. it did nothing to affect his job performance.

i played in three hard rock bands over three years. i'd get bored and join a new one. i can't play any instruments and i used to be able to sing before "singing" in these bands. i blew out my vocal chords and now cannot sing. i can speak just fine and have an okay voice but when i try and sing i can no longer control the pitch that my voice takes.

my interests include hard rock, anime (japanese animation), international music, specifically asian music. i started into it with korean music, slid into japanese and now am into chinese music. very cool stuff if you give it a chance.

languages i speak: english. yup that's it. i used to speak tagalog and korean, but i have gone so long without practicing and due to a certain break up i have pretty much blocked them from use. i do plan on taking mandarin, and maybe japanese later. my spanish has a decen accent but it takes me too long to put stuff together. i can read spanish to a certain level, but cannot write or speak.

hmmm...well, how about you?

hmmm...

well, i see that i must be a moron cause i'm the only person to post hear. i guess everyone like ariosto's ooc club thing...oh well, i tried to get to know more of you guys.....

Your not a moron that's my department I'm not a moron either my brain just goes by by sometimes;)

memo to tumyo

Cheer up, big fellow, I think this thread is a good idea. I'll tell you a little about myself as well.

My name is Erik and I live in Detroit. I belive you know my wife, Honey_B, and I enjoy posting on this site as well.

I kind of dropped out of college for the time being, having gone to work in the publishing businiss. I really enjoy it, I met a lot of cool people this way.

I was in a band back in the early 90's, a band that sounded like a cross between Echo and the Bunnymen and The Ocean Blue. I played the bass and sang back-up . After our egos got out of check, the band pretty well broke up. My drummer and I were good freinds before, and we tried to start another band. We tooled around some, joined a grunge band breifly, but nothing worked.

These days, I've lost my bass in a custody battle and haven't played in a few years. I still ocasionaly catch a concert now and then, but my wife is not the music lover that I am and I spend little time with any of my boys from back in the day.

I still hope to acheive my goal of performing on stage with a band, even if its a one shot deal in front of 15 or so fans. It dosen't really matter, as long as I have an audiance.

Well, let me know if you want any more of my wonderful life story!(yeh, right) If not, I could always post on your man ariosto's club!

until we post again, Fly

Hi there! My name is Kris! We haven't been in a thread yet together tmuyo and Fly (well I did join From Russia with Love...but havent interacted with you). Look forward to the day when we collaborate. Not much to tell about my life. I am originally from a town outside Cleveland and moved to West Virginia 9 yrs ago. I love it here. Beautiful and peaceful. I am married for the second time. I have 2 children, 2 stepchildren and 2 1/2 step-granchildren...(at age 34 lol) I am not employed at the moment and want to go back to college. One day I will...lol You are never to old to learn. Anything else you want to know? Just ask ;)

<jumping up on my soap box> I notice that you put yourself down a lot tmuyo...I do not mean to criticize but self-respect is VERY sexy. Use your talent that you have and let others decide if they like it. Don't try to theorize on how others look at you. I have started threads that took off immediately, some slowly developed and some got little response. Be patient. Also you may want to try not putting down your fellow Lit writers. Two things I have been told over the years: #1) If you do not like someone then just stay away from them. If you keep reopening the wound it will never heal. #2) If you seek revenge, then dig 2 graves. One for your enemy and one for yourself.

I had a problem with a person here at Lit and did not handle it as well as I should have. Hecate showed me the errors of my ways. So don't make the same mistake I made. <I think you know what I am talking about> As Forest Gump so eloquently said, "And that's all I have to say about that..."

Hi, MtnAngelWA

Or, can I call you Kris? I do look forward to posting with you on my "Russia" thread, Honey and I have gotten kind of wrapped up in ourselves. The time is near for us to met however.

So, do the country roads take you home to West Virgina? Just kidding! I just happen to be a big fan of John Denver. That probably sounds corny but hey, who cares?

By the way, would you care to join my thread "The other side of J. Edgar Hoover?" I really need some players. I think it could be humorious, if not fun. Please PM me if your interested.

Chat with you soon, Erik
