OOC: Casting Call--X-Men: Unleashed!

Okay, here's the concept:

The thread is intended for (primarily) new characters, young and brash, and not too well-trained in terms of discipline. The idea here is, basically, as many new characters as we can get, while still keeping them within certain restraints (no powerful characters--as in characters who can control time, make the world stop spinning, beat up Superman--no characters stronger tahn any of the original X-Men, or any of the newer ones, even). We want characters that are at least mortal in the effect that they are capable of being killed, in easier ways than buildings falling on thier heads that is.

The mansion and Xavier's school will not be an issue, as, in the first post, the X-Men will be disbanded, due to the fact that many (meanig all non-player characters) of them are killed in a catastrophe (a burning of the Academy by unknown assailants; I intend to provide these, but I'm more than open to new ideas). Rouge will survive, but she won't be a factor in the thread, just someone who is capable of single-handedly saving those who will be in the thread from the beginning, then will vanish, psychologically distraught and needing to be alone--this keeps any of the characters from being dominant at the beginning by being "everybody's hero!"

If you're interested, post here your character profile and what they can do, and a brief bio and personality sketch. We'l have to decide to agree on who's too powerful and who isn't.
Oh, and if you want to play an already existing character, meaning an X-Man, PM me, but we don't want too many of them, and the ones we will allow can't be the majors or too powerful (ie. Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, etc.).

Personality: He’s shy but once you get hem to be your friend he’s loyal and will defend you unless you betray hem. He’s lade back for the most part and slow to anger but if you make the mistake pushing hem to far you will regret it.
Powers: Think vampire but not as powerful inhanst healing strength senses can tern in to a raven mist and Black Panther. He's strength senses and healing are at there peck at night mening they dupil when the sun go's down dering the day they are haf of whot wolveren and thy jump up to equil wolvy at night and he can tern any time.
Past: He’s family was killed when a secret origination tried to catcher hem and fors hem to work for them but he askpt and do’s not now how did. He lived on the street using he’s powers to survive. Until the prefacer X found hem and curviest hem to com to the school to learn to master he's powers. He’s only bent her for a few weeks and still doesn’t have any friends.

I would like to try out your thread, QC.

My character will be Raja, a large mutant with tremendous strength. He is very clearly NOT human, and cannot pass for human, as he is very elephant-like, with thick skin, a large, elephantine head, complete with trunk and tusks, and big ears. He is certainly humanoid, with the typical bipedal humaniform, and his hands, while a bit clumsy for fine work, do have opposable thumbs.

Oh, and he does have another, fairly important, feature in common with elephants... If it comes up in the thread, I will reveal it.

Psychologically, he is quite intelligent, but shy. He is also prone to rages when harmed or frightened. His great strength means that he had to learn to be very careful early on, or injure any normal human he contacts. He grew up as a circus freak, but still experienced love from his circus family. The circus was attacked by anti-mutant terrorists, and he is the sole survivor - that he knows of. Now, he is scared to let anything emotional under that thick skin, for fear that he will lose more loved ones.

Protea is a shapeshifter much like Mistique but she is not in total control of her powers and tends to shapeshift in or out of form when nervous, frightened or startled unless she is concentrating hard on keeping her shape. She can shapeshift into anything living as long as she can visualize that person or animal.

Appearance: a 18 year old well built African American male with short hair that tends to stand on end when he uses his powers at a high level

Powers: His powers are based on kenetic energy right now he is nowhere near as powerful as he can be

Attitude: He comes from wealthy background so like most rich kids he is kinda overly proud to the point of arrogance. He also overy competitive often getting jealous when he sees others improving while he is frustrated. He often feels so superior to others that he refuses to accept that some people are more powerful than he is.

DESCRIPTION: Short black hair with red streaks, hair on his chin forming a triangle, blue eyes, about 6'2" medium build.

POWERS: When Anthony gets excited, the first two layers of his skin peel up, forming spikes to protect him. This is primarily fueled by adrenalin.

HISTORY: Anthony grew up in Philly where he was part of a street gang but was ousted when his powers developed during a drive by one day. Anthony comes to the school looking to start over.

Whenever a superhero thread comes calling, there is always a voice. A power, that people can count on. One individual who will stand up and fight when everyone else has fallen.
And... since Superman is out fighting evil all over the world, I'm going have to call the only other person who could show Superman what for.
But, since Batman is busy as well, this is beginning to get difficult.
Oh well, why don't I just pick Spiderman?
Works for me.
Spiderman, who may not be an official member of X-Men, certainly have joined them many a times. He has been invited to become a member, but since he technically wasn't born a mutant, and the fact that his comic book sales were going so well, he turned them down.
Still, whenever evil threatens New York City, you know that Spiderman and the X-Men won't be far behind.

Ummm, powers? That's the beauty of Spiderman. The only real powers he has is a bit heightened strength, super-agility, and a sense for danger.
His webbing really isn't a power, more like a weapon that he has. It's a part of him though, just like the suit.

Not a true mutant, was part of an experiment. Fetus was suspended in an unknown compound, which was suffused with a low electrical current. His DNA was manipulated, in an attempt to create a superhuman soldier. The experiment was a failure. He was given heightened senses (not quite animal-like) and heightened strength (not super-human) all of which didn't manifest until years after the end of the experiment. His only real power was a side effect. He is impervious to electricity. He uses a small generator that he actually wears, to generate electricity, that he can "throw" (shoot, etc) at a target. He has never fit in with either mutants (who considered him not a true mutant) or humans (who considered him a mutant). Therefore, he doesn't trust, or like, anyone.

I'm a newby to the world of the X-Men, so I hope this is good.

Bio: Came to Masion to learn to controll power. He is from the south and has southeren accent. He is strong but lacks in real world experince.Hoped that his time at Masnion would teach controll and teach him about life.

Well, well, well. We're getting quite a turn-out here, aren't we. Good to have everyone aboard. And good characters, if I do say so myself. A question and a suggestion:

Question: Pheonix, what does your character do with the kinetic energy. Is he like Gambit, ina sense, or something else?

Suggestion: precious_petal, how about naming the character after you (precious), or perhaps (this might be far-fetched) call her "Rain," given her personality. Rain can be both soft and hard, harsh and gentle, a curse or a blessing, much like your character seems to be.

Anyway, I'm digging through the closet here, but welcome my old friend: Bastard.

Nickname: Bastard (a.k.a. Bastard Child) known to those close to him as B.C.

Distinctive traits:
Piercings: right ear, four times on the bottom and once on the top. Left ear, eigth times, from bottom to top. Left eyebrow, twice, with barbells. Tongue, twice, in the middle and on the tip. His bottom lip is peirced on the left, where he tends to wear a hoop. A barbell pierces beneath his lower lip.
Tattoos: One in the front of his left bicep: A black and white sun. One around his left ankle, a chain, covered in seaweed and floating in pale blue water, as though he has been chained to something and dropped into the river or ocean. On his lower back, just above his tailbone, a black and white tattoo shows the bones beneath, as though his skin has been torn away to show what's beneath; it stretches from his tail bone to a few inches above his waist and outward to each hip, leaving it the shape of a diamond. A black and silver pentagram just below his stomach naval about twice the size of a silver dollar.
Abilities: Bastard has a variety of traits, common among mutants. He is mildly telepathic (as in, he can sense when someone is near, but not read their mind), has a slight advantage to humans in the strength department, and can heal at a faster rate than humans. You get the picture. Of the traits that make him stand out: he has an immunity to psychic probing. He can resist psychic abilities from other mutants quite easily. Only Prof. X could read his mind without his willing it. AS a student at the Academy, Bastard has mastered a number of martial arts, making him both a lethal weapon as an ally, and a worthy foe, but he has not perfected the one power that will define his mutant capabilities (although the Professor has assured him he will someday): the ability to harness fire and make it do his bidding.
Temperament: Bastard has always been a loner, mostly because he alienates himself, breeding his own anger and making it stronger. He remembers nothing before the age of twelve, when he was first enrolled in the Academy. He has joined, left, and rejoined the Academy multiple times, but never graduated, and hence has never become an X-man. Still, when he wishes to feel at home, he returns unfailingly. His general statement to the world is: "Fuck it! We all die someday anyway!" This, along with his unceasing blatant negativity toward others, have earned him his nickname.

Kenetic Energy is the energy created from movement. Using the power of things moving around you if channeled right it could open different doors depending on the creativity or talent of the user. So my guy could have the same powers as Gambit but he might use them in a different way.

As for a codename since my character has a bit of an ego he kinda refuses to use codenames even after someone tries to heap a nickname on him. I can't wait to start

Character bio: Abandoned by her parents at the onset of her unusual behaviors, Alana was enrolled at Xavier's Academy at the age of thirteen, having been taken there by a stranger, who happened to be an old friend of Xavier's. Unable to cope with the parental abandonment, as well as the constant negative attention of her schoolmates, Alana quickly became a loner, and grew quiet, shying away from her schoolmates. After graduation, Alana disappeared, traveling the country and finding that the world outside was cold to her, disapproving of her mutant abilities. She grew colder still, and developed a hatred for the world around her, and an even stronger hatred for Xavier and her old classmates, some of whom have become X-Men.

Abilities: Physically, Alana's only strength is her speed. She has the ability to move at high speeds, even when doing menial jobs. She has compared her own speed to that of the Flash, but that information is highly disputable. She also has a well-above high intelligence, and is telepathic, though not your normal telepath. Using physical contact as a means, Alana can obtain the knowledge of others with little effort and at a fast pace.

Physical description: As Adrenalyn, she wears a body suit which is yellow and black, the yellow appearing as though it is fire burning from her feet up. She has long, dark red hair to mid-back and bright blue eyes. No tattoos or distinguishing marks are visible.

OOC: this is Adrenalyn, one of those "Bad Guys" I promised you. Hey, Poohlive, look familiar? I think I'll introduce her (and Hardcore) in the same post I used before. It seems a waste to let all that writing go to waste...

Description: 5'11, medium build, short blonde hair and pure white eyes. Because of this he always wears sunglasses.

Mutant powers: Johnny has incredible potential, but he has realised very little of it. He can transform into pure energy. So far he is able to become a being of pure white light, and able to travel at light speed when he is in this form. He can project light from himself, and eminate heat (so that it burns to touch him). He is undergoing self-training to become both sound and electricity, but he seems to be a long way off.

Bio: Johnny lived with a loving family, despite being a mutant, but led a life which did not fulfil him. He lives very much in his own head, desiring the best from himself that he can achieve, in terms of enlightenment, power and skill. While sociable, he prefers to spend most of his time in the endless task of perfecting his mind, body and spirit, through study, training and martial arts/ meditation. He joined the academy as a means of completing school while still becoming more powerful.

Powers: Andrew has the power to bend light, rendering his somewhat invisible. He also has two bone spike/blades that come out of his forearms that he uses as weapons but he can not attack while invisible.

Bio: Andrew was born a normal human person and had no idea that he was really a mutant. He passed the age where any powers might form and he feared they might as his uncle and grandfather were both mutants. He thought that he didn't have the gene until one day he was in a fight and a bone spike/blade came out of his forearm. He didn't know what to do and ran from the fight as fast as he could. He hates his powers as he can't control them yet and turns invisible before he can stop himself.
