Long ago, there existed an island. That island was cursed by the very blood of the gods. Upon it, lawlessness was law. Elves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Humans. They make their homes on this island, forgotten by those on the mainland. They worship ancient gods, and fear ancient legends.

On that island, known as Lodoss, or Cursed Blood, an mercenary founded a kingdom. A kingdom of freedom, of battle. Flaim. This is the story of knights of Flaim.

Record of Lodoss War is one of my fave animes. I'm in though I haven't decided who I want to be yet. What do you have in mind for the story?

Nothing in mind yet. Still gathering my thoughts on the matter. It will center around the adventures of the Knights of Flaim though. That much I HAVE determined. Also, pleaseforgive a ny typos f orthetime being. I'm w orking with a ruined keyboard, andthe replacement Iordered seems to have gotten lost. The postal service s ays t hey delivered it s aturday. Um, let's see. farther south of Lodoss is Marmot, an island even more accursed than Lodoss. It's much smaller, and the events leading up to the founding of Flaim centered on Kashue's war to protect Lodoss from Marmot's Emperor Beld.

Alania, birthplace of Parn and King Etoh of Valis
Kannon, country that was once occupied by the forces of Marmo
Marmo, island south of Lodoss, known as the Dark Island
Kastuul, a forgotten kingdom, once the capitol of Lodoss, that was destroyed when its mages sought too much power
Flaim, a kingdom of mercenaries, started by Kashue, a former gladiator who trained Parn

Elves (standard elves, subdivided into High Elves, several different Wood Elves, Halfelves, and Dark Elves)

If someone wants to, yes. and W00T, I found my leaflet with the bulk of the Info. Spark, it turns out became the Duke of Marmo after the War of the Destroyer (the events of the Chronicles series)

I've only seen one or two of the chronicles series. Those're tough to find on DVD...If it wasn't for the good ole internet I wouldn't have the slightest clue what the chronicles series was.

I have the box set. Still need to get the OAVs and movies though.

Lucky, I'm still looking for a good set for Exosquad (I aint holding my breath there seemed like Exosquad was in limbo even when it was on the air) and then Vandread's second season or saga or run or whatever you call'em too. But I'll eventually get that Chronicles one too. Yep it'll be right beside Record of Lodoss War someday.

heh...Chronicles of the Heroic Knight is the actual RoLW series. The others are OAV and movie. and I have yet to get my hands on VanDread. I was lucky enough to catch it when I still had Encore Action

Okay, so we'll need characters. And I think we'll need a couple more players. Calling all femmes? lol. Anyways, I'm working through what I know from the box set and the info leaflet.

The Marmo themselves (what remains of them) are searching for a new home on the sea, led by the Black Knight Ashram. Spark has became the Duke of the province of Marmo, now annexed to Flaim. um....the DarkElves havesettled down some. mainlybecause theyaren't being used by the Marmo leaders.

Um...my character...damn, thiskeyboard's getting annoying. WhenI want it to space, it doesn't. when I don't, itdoes....probably because of my typing speed

My character would probably be based on Dias Flac from Star Ocean EX, I think. Haven't quite decided. Not knowing the state of affairs on the mainland isn't a good thing.

So this will be set after the events of the series?

Yes, definitely. I figure ten, maybe fifteen years later.

So will we be playing the characters from the series, or just our own characters, or a mix of both?

I'd imagine a mix of both, dependent on who wants to be whom

That's kinda the thing. If we were playing only characters from the show I'd love to be Ashram, if not I'd play as my own character, a mix...well I'm going to have to make a tough decision.

that would mean coming up with a reason for Ashram to have returned

Oh yeah, I hadn't thought about that, but I still would've loved playing him.
Well it looks like I'll make up a character of my own. Perhaps a Knight/soldier/mercenary of Flaim?

I can actually think of a reason for them to encounter Ashram. Go the Shining Force route. Lands his people safely. Someone accidentally awakens a dark god...he has to ask for help

Nah, I've made up my mind. I'll be a soldier of Flaim, maybe like Kashue's lieutenant or something...since it centers on them you'll need a few people from flaim right?

Undoubtedly. I'll have to think on my character's specifics.

Give me some time, I've got nothing but a general idea right now. I'll get back to you with a detailed bio, and I think, for this case, asking for alignment in the bio is probably a good idea. Will just Good, Evil, or Other work?

Come to think of it you should probably ask us for what weapons or magical talents our characters will have too.
