Okay, this one's had its day in court, then had five o six appeals and can't seem to escape Death Row. What's say we give it another try, for honest horror's sake.

In fact, I think I'm going to set it in the old locale, not Raccoon City, but Desperation, a mid-sized city in a mountainous region, pretty much cut-off from the rest of the world, whose name I did in fact steal from the Stephen King novel, before questions are asked on the matter.
By the time the thread begins, the "virus" has already spread throughout the town. Barricades have been set up by those still surviving inside, and before the authorities outside the city could be contacted, Umbrella operatives cut off all communications, allowing those within the city to face the crisis alone.

Months have passed, and the creatures created by Umbrella corporation's have taken over the city. Zombies pace every alleyway, and the devil dogs prowl the streets. Worse still, signs exist that Umbrella Corp. is still operating within the city limits, but as to whether they continue to wreak thier havok or are taking steps to eliminate their mess is still unknown.

Here is where we start. You can choose what type of character you wish to play, save for the evil creatures. They're NPC or under my control (or "group control" if that's what you wish). You can be a survivor within the city, someone entering the city and finding the ruins and what secrets they hold, or even an operative for Umbrella, or some other organization that's wise to Umbrella's ways, going in in attempt to find survivors.

No overly strong or powerful characters allowed. Rambo and Commando are not welcome in Desperation. Only realistic characters, or at least as realistic as we can make them in this setting, are allowed.

Any takers?

I've read this thru, QC, and don't think it'd be my cup of tea, but I didn't want you to think I hadn't considered it. I've never played the games and wasn't horriably impressed with the movie. I am usually drawn to more plot driven RP than hack and slash, which the RE games seem to be.

Have fun and I wish you luck, tho!

Hack and slash!!! I impore you to actually play the games. They have some of the best storylines out there, besides the FF series. There are always surprises in the RE games.

Playstation, although I believe the latest one is both PS and Nintendo Game Cube.

Never played myself, but I love the concept. I watched the movie (not excellent, but then again not horrible either, they could have done a lot worse).
I'll take root in here.
Maybe a few rules about the zombies? The movie had them only underground, so I'm not sure. Can they come out in the daylight? If you are bitten (or whatever) how long before you contract the virus (to the point of mindless feeding) is there a cure? Readily available?

I'll take Sam.
(I know there isn't a Sam to take, but I'm doing it anyway)
Sam
24.
Local high school drop out who worked at a local grocery store. Cashier, bagger, that type of shit. Anything and everything to get money. He lived with his parents, and was a huge pot head.
Didn't care about much else. Go to work, get money, spend it on pot, and toke up until work again.
A day in the life of Sam.
Since this shit has happened, he's taken up permanent harbour in the store. He hasn't toked in a long time (his stash is gone) and he's scared shitless. Keeps himself alive by locking himself in the safe in the back of the store. so far it has worked, he goes out every now and then to get food and water, but little else.
Thinks eventually people will come to save him. Until then he waits.
Or does he?

"Or does he" voted one of the most overused lines in stories on the AHB, so it made me laugh when I saw it. ;)

Okay...

The games were very different from the movie, pooh, but not enough that we can't use one as an example for the other.
basically, the people bitten or scratched slowly change into zombies. We can take our own angle in terms of how long it takes, making the excuse that different tactics were used in each city. Perhaps the virus spreads faster in Desperation, or slower, than it did in Raccoon City. The light has nothing to do with the zombies, which are basically more viscious versions of what George A. Romero created in his Living Dead trilogy, save for the shooting them in the head trick, though that did work if you took thier heads off with the shotgun. In the games, as with the thread, given the description above anyway--we can change things--is that they exist above ground, and that the lab existed below ground, beneath a mansion a short distance from the city.
Sam will work perfectly, pooh. Nice addition to our cast of...none.

Profile:

Name: Ray Daniels
Gender: Male
Age: 27

Character Description: Ray is 5-11, about 180 lbs, slightly muscular. He usually wear jeans and T-shirt (often black) and usually a long brown trench coat. His eyes are brown, and his short hair is light brown, often covered by a black bandana. His only distinguishing marks are scars, mostly small ones, but a few large ones, including one on his right upper arm. He keeps them well-covered and is very self-conscious about them.

Bio: Ray is in Desperation in search of his siter, who's been missing for three months. He's a bounty hunter...not a hitman, but a bounty hunter. He'd just arrived in Desperation as things were getting the best of the town.

Well, now we have two...
Cool.

Anyone else?

if you dont mind, i would like to join, i saw this thread and wanted to join.

Morris Ghels
Gender: Male
Age 27
Tattoos: He has tribal designs all along his arms with flames going up his arm, it weaves together.

He worked in a computer buisness and decided to take a road trip, he found a little quiet peaceful town and decided to stop and look around. He took his time looking around the town and he walks around in a dinner. He looks to his arms and smiles at them not being covered by a white collared shirt, he is in very good shape since he works out a lot and has been taking martial arts for most of his life. He could teach if he wanted to, but he never had the desire to, also on his spare time he was into firearms, he went at least twice a week to the local fireing range and went out to the desert to shoot off his guns with his buddies. But here he was now in this town on vacation having a good time. He was glad to be away from his job and regular life, he had no idea on where he was going on his trip but he would just travel north, but he wanted to check this town out and see what was here.

Looks good, amon, so long as he doesn't become some kind of marial arts/Rambo type. Okay, we're up to three.
Anyone else, or any more questions? Threads like these tend to gain support after they begin, so we could start soon enough, as soon as I come up with an opening post.
