OOC Casting Call for Half a Dragon's Heart

This thread is based lousley on the movie Dragon Heart, but none of the characters from the movie are actually being played, the movie was just part of my inspiration.

What I am looking for is:

The Dragon, now with half a heart, he gave the other half to a boy 12 years ago, at a knight request in order to save him so when he grew he would be a fair and just ruler (position filled)

The King: has half the dragons heart, is cruel and selfish, like to capture beautiful women from all over the kingdom to use as sex slaves, can not be killed unless the dragon dies. (little Gary)

Both the dragon and the king feel each others injuries.

Hero: the Knight who first sought out the king to save the young prince now king, he well be about thirty five, he needs to seek out the dragon it help save the captured women and dethrown the king (open)

The lead female, who well be played by me, is the Kings first conquest and favorite toy since he has not managed to control her yet.

Also looking for other women to be abducted and turned into sex slaves.

The setting is 13th century England. Please feel free to use any name clothing weapons or magic you wish for this thread, it is supposed t be fantasy and I would like to have a lot of fun with it

Dragon

if you're still looking for a dragon i'd love to give the part a shot.

Name: Drago

12 years ago Drago was asked to give half his heart for some child as a means of saving his life. He had been promised that the child would grow to be a kind ruler, and is less that pleased to see that that is not the case. He has recently taken to raiding the kings lands, hoping to cripple the kingdom enough so the peasents revolt. Drago knows that their lives are connected, and that only his death can stop the tyrant king, but his love for his own life prevents him from doing anything about it.

Recently the king has been taking young maidens from around the kingdom for who knows what vile acts against their will. He's already tired to save several of them by attacking the sentries who take them, but overall has had his actions hampered by the veteran soldiers who have learned his attack patterns and defended well against him.

Eventually he just gave up and went back to his cave, content to live his normal life, snatching up random animals for food, hording the treasures he found, fighting off knights from other lands who dared to come into his territory, the usual dragon life.

description: Approximately 5'8", she has long black wavy hair that reaches her shoulderblades, with hazel eyes, long legs and a slightly curvy body. Has a slightly dark tan from working all day and is usually found in boots, some form of tight pants, and tunic and her hair in a braid. She is more attractive than some of the other women, despite her harsh job, and is usually told to do something more feminine for a job.

occupation: Trains and cares for the horses that are eventually given to the and his men. Lives above the barn, in the loft alone. The man she used to love and be with was recruited into the kings army, and was never seen again. She trains some of the best horses and gets little to no reward for it. Her father also died many years ago and her mother is a maid in the king's castle.

Armond stands 6 feet tall, with broad shoulders and a steady gaze. He was a famed knight of the kingdom and loved the prince like a younger brother. He taught the young prince the principles of the old code, thinking it would make him a good king. He was fooled by the prince's manipulations however and made a grevious error. When the prince was young, he was greviously injured. Armond beseeched a dragon for aid and it was granted. Armond then swore him self to the dragon, if he every needed aid.

The Prince then started to show his real nature as he became king. Armond swore that he would find the dragon that had cursed the prince with an evil heart. He didn't hunt other dragons since he had no grudge against them.

It has been twelve years since then and he has failed to find the dragon, dirtied his hands as a mercenary, and finally shut himself from the cruelty of the world through drink.

Description: Approximately 5'6", she has long blonde hair that reaches her waist which she always keeps pulled back in to a loose braid. She has a muscular physic that is accenuated by womanly curves. Being raised by her father and three brothers after her father died she has become somewhat of a tom boy preferring to dress in hand me downs from her brother instead of the silly dresses worn by the woman of the times. She is usually seen in a loose tunic and riding pants, a small sword buckled to her side. She has a secret desire to become a knight but knows that she will not be allowed since that was an honor only bestowed upon men. Every night she practices her sword handling and fighting with her brothers, using the excuse that she wanted to be able to protect herself, never letting on the truth. Even though she tries to hide her figure in loose clothing, lately she has been noticed by many of the eligible bachelors in town and has been approached many times but she has turned them all down.

Occupation: She takes care of her father's household while he is at the castle training the new knights, sometimes slipping out to watch them train once her chores are done for the day.

Now 23, Andre rules his kingdom with an iron fist, and an iron heart. The half a dragon heart that was suppose to help him rule his kingdom fairly, and peacefully instead had cursed him with an unquenchable darkness. He spent his days training, honing his body into an instrument of war, and lust. He constantly travels, seeking and taking any woman who tickles his fancy. His lust is enormous, and he constantly seeks new ideas, and situations to sake his sexual urges.

I leave it up to the Knight and Dragon to get together, they may start any time after the intial post.

Keira watched the men her father were training from the shelter of the doorway. She had to remain hidden to ensure her father did not see her there. Her father didnt like her hanging around the training grounds, preferring her to stay home and learn from other women in the household how to act like a proper lady. Problem was, she was not a proper lady and she didnt want to be one. She wanted to be a knight like her father was and her three brothers were training to be. Each night after everyone was in bed she practiced the fighting moves she had seem her father teaching them that day, half the time coercing the stable boy to help her. Instead of wearing ladies dresses which were the proper attire for a woman at the time, she preferred to dress in hand me downs from her brothers, often wearing tunics and riding pants that were too large and hid her budding figure well. She almost always had a small sword buckled at her belt, more to use for practice than for protection. Her father had originally scolded her for carrying the sword, saying it was not the proper lady thing to do, but when reports of missing woman started to surface in the village and he saw how well she could use the sword he reluctantly allowed her to keep it. Though he would never admit it to her face he was proud of her and the fact that she could take care of herself, making it so he didnt have to worry about her as much as some fathers had to with their daughters.

Keira continued to watch each of the moves her father was teaching the men, committing them to memory so that she could practice them later that night. Of course she had other reasons for watching the men working out, she was a woman after all. All those strong, muscular men sweating as they flipped each other into the dirt was definetely a show worth watching.

My apologies. Someone else has the position of knight. Here is my new character:

Nathan is a large, strong woodsman with short wavy red hair and a mischievious twinkle in his blue eyes uncommon in someone of 25. Brother of Keira, he is a black sheep in the family. His father and brothers are knights, but he refused seeing the king as not worth serving. He was brought up with ideas of courage and justice, but has tempered them with patience and cunning with the rise of the evil king. He watches over the small town of his birth as best he can, helping them deal with the ravages of the king.

Does anyone mind if I add things previously unmentioned? Also, how does combat work between characters?

The Obelisk is a giant stone pillar almost 300 feet high jutting out of an other wise unremarkable plain. It is a sheer vertical cliff and Nathan is the only one known to have successfully climbed it. He has taken girls up there and it became a thing that every girl had to try at least once. Getting to make out or laid was no problem until another boy tried it and got himself and the girl badly injured attempting it. The thrill of danger had been broken by reality.

The Crags are a treacherous barren mountain range to the East. Those mountains are a border of the kingdom and no one knows what’s beyond them. Have fun adventuring if you do!

Background

Ever since records were made Athalantys is an unknown land, as its people keeps very well hidden behind the Wall of Stone, a fortification that surrounds the entire peninsula in southwest of the European continent, carved out of the earth bowels trough the ages.

The people itself is very little know, besides they are fierce fighters and many claim they are even immortals, due to the use of arcane magic.

Nonetheless, Athalantyans are a proud, laboring people, devoted to knowledge and science, which as granted them long life, far beyond average men.

Piyoth, as all his brethren is a skilled warrior, master of sword and axe. He was entrusted the mission to spread trough Europe, along with some fellow comrades, to gather information from the land, as Athalantys keeps itself well informed of what is going on in the world.

He as spent his last 15 years in Britain and with the rise of the evil king he sees an opportunity to make new powerful allies in the land to his mark. And take part in some carnage.

Really doesnt matter how you view dragons........in this RP their's no such thing as facts (especially since i'm just mixing the two different ways dragons are seen)

If we were to actually follow history, then the view of your character would be correct, since thats how Europeans and most of the Western world saw them.

The views of the two women are more of an East Asain version of how dragons were seen.

Either way it's fine......makes for a nice contrast in style. I actually think it'd be nice to have at least one other character besides the king who sees the dragon as an enemy and be distrustful of him.

Just have fun with the characters and i hope we can keep this thread going for a long while ^_^

"The Hero/Knight"

Name: Declyn

Very muscular in stature.

Declyn was the knight who had saved the "present" king's life after cohercing the dragon into giving him half of his heart. Little did Declyn know was that the young prince who's life he had saved had become such a tyrant of a ruler.

Declyn had left the castle shortly after the "prince" had been saved, proud of what he had done. Having come back a few years after the prince had become king, the knight was very disappointed in how this man had turned out! With that in mind, Declyn set out in search of that very dragon who had given up half his heart.
