Anyone interested in a thread loosely based on Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton?

I am that’s for sure, thus this post. I attempted one under a different pen name over on the ORP wayyyy back, but it didn’t really pan out. A good point was made back then. One can’t really roleplay that series without including some wicked hot, utterly devient and fabulous sex scenes. So, I reckon this is dah place, no? *L*

It’ll be completely open, save for the role of Anita, which I’m lusting over the mere thought of right now. So, sorry ppls, I’m snatching her up. She’s mine. *snarls savagely* I’ll fight over her if I have too. ;) The role of Jean-Claude is claimed as well. But don’t fret there are tons more delirious delicious ones you can sink your teeth into, vampire or were-creature alike. You’re welcome to choose a preconceived character from the books, say for instance Richard, Asher, Nathaniel, Cherry, Zane, Jason, Micah.. Pardon me whilst I drool. *L* Anyhoo, you get the picture. And of course, there is always the option of creating your own.

I lurve those books tremendously, not to mention the character of Anita. Again, the thread is completely open to whoever interest is piqued. Plot is up in the air, at the moment although I do have a few ideas stirring around. I really just wanted to throw this out there and see who all would be interested. Hopefully I’ll get a few bites. Literally. Hah! Sorry, just couldn’t resist. *L*

Sounds great...I'd love to come along for the ride. Maybe this will hold me until the next book hits.

Kit

Hi A_C_M,

I thought I saw this thread in the ORP. I've not read any of the Anita Blake's books. Is it OK to join? I ask because, I do not know the premise and the background story, and I do not want to ruin your thread by being an uninformed goof.

Z

Same here, I've never read the books but it sounds like fun...

I wouldn't mind joining up.

Yay!

Lady Kit, Zircon, Lacewing – Welcome! Proud and happy to have you guys’n gals join! Thanks so much! :)

Actually, Zircon, I did say loosely based so we don’t have to be complete sticklers to preconceived notions. We can have some fun with it. I mean that’s why we’re all here, right? To have fun! If you enjoy reading that type of genre, you really should check them out. They are well worth it in my most humble of opinions.

I’m posting a little background concerning the series for those that may not be in the know. Also I’ll post a couple of web-sites below that may help you out. And of course, you’re always welcome to message me with any questions or suggestions. :)

All of this is based in modern day St. Louis, although there are a few minor differences. There are vampires and were-creatures and they are very much in the know of the general public. Vamps are actually now a recognized race with all the rights of citizenship. They tend to stick with their own, but some own businesses/establishments that are an almost irresistible draw for the common day folk. That’s not to say they’re not dangerous. They most definitely are. They can’t be killed (or at least knowingly *wink/wink*) without just cause and of course, their cases have to go through the legal system, although the cases of rogue vamps do course through rather quickly resulting usually in a death penalty, carried out by a licensed Vampire executioner. (One of Anita’s many titles, btw.)

Vamps can be kind, evil or indifferent. Kind again is a loose term. You gotta admit it is a bit difficult to imagine any creature as being 'kind' that sees you as food.

Anyway, Vamps are pretty much the going trend in society. There’s even people that volunteer to be their fodder, hoping to be ‘brought over’, wannabe vamps so to speak or just because the love the feeling. It is against the law for a vamp to taste/feed from an unwilling victim. That can get him/her decapitated, heart-ripped out right away. That’s the only way, besides burning them to ash and/or sticking them out in the sunlight that you can kill vamps. Little wooden stakes are very passé in this world. High-powered artillery and blades are preferred by most that hunt. Silver blades and bullets will harm a vamp, causing the wound to heal less quickly, like that of a human. Crosses are a useful deterrent, but only if you have the faith to back them up.

Silvered weapons, projectiles will kill were-creatures. Anything silver will hurt them actually, but the weapons will most definitely kill. Were-creatures include werewolves, wereleopards, wererats, werejustaboutanything. *L* Were-creatures are very pack oriented. Lone rogues are usually not tolerated unless they are ~very~ dominate, and even that’s iffy. Were-creatures are known to society but more often than not hide their duality due to persecution and discrimination. There are still some states that legalize bounty hunting specifically for those of the were-persuasion. The ‘disease’ is mostly spread by a mere scratch or bite, or even occasionally from the injection of the immunization that had been created to protect against it.

You can even be human if you want to. Necromancer, Voodoo priestess/priest, Cops, Detectives, Bounty Hunters, Clairvoyant, Plain ol’ everyday lil lady next door if you like. ;) Feel free to use one of the characters from the site/books, or create your own. Only one request, No God-like powers, Somewhat super-strength and heightened abilities/talents for were and vamp alike are to be assumed, but no omni-potency if you know what I mean. No controlling others characters either, mainly cause it pisses me off.

Feel free to control your own to your hearts content, and you may assume some simple stuff of others, but there will be no instant kills. Although, death is most definitely a possibility. All posts are to remain open-ended. Lets say a kill would require a three post give’n take? Fair enough? This all may be really basic, I know most of you guys/gals know this already, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to throw it in.

If interested, please post here with what character you wish to play. Course I probably need to post a story line of some sort, no? Heh. I’m getting to that. I should have something up by later tonight or tommorrow. I'll keep this thread as strictly OOC and start a brand new one for the storyline, k? That should keep it less cluttered.

If there’s a character you’re dying to play, just lay claim and we’ll work the story line around it regardless. The only characters I know for sure that are involved at the moment is Anita and Jean-Claude. Just fyi, Jean-Claude is the Master Vampire of the City (St. Louis of course). Most of the Vamps are under his ‘reign’ so to speak, at least for that district. Wolves are his beasts to call, just to let you know if you’re considering portraying a werewolf. Anyhoo, I’ll post a more thorough character description for Anita and J-C a lil later. I’ve rambled on enough already I’m sure. *L*

Again! If you have any questions, need any help, have ideas, suggestions, comments, critiques, or just want to say hello, don’t hesitate to drop me a message. Doors always open. :)

The web-sites listed below have tons of really great information on the books and characters!

*drools*

OMG! Yes I have read the books. Well not all of them. You know I alway wanted Jason's position of being Jean-Claude's breakfast entree. :p

Heck I want Jason & Asher too. :D :p

Mary, I'm so glad you started this, I hope we can all make it work.

As to a character. My first choice, of course is Anita, but it is your thread...*grins* I'll figure out something else, I've no interest in going head to head with the Executioner.

Perhaps, instead, the proprietress of a small club, neutral ground for vamps, humans, and the were-folk to gather. A smaller version of Circus of the Damned? You know how the tourists like to see the tame vamps...*smiling with just a flash of fang*

Kit

Hai, sounds fun, think I;ll just make up a charactor if no one minds, likely a normal human chick. Heh, should be interesting to see how long she can actually live in a story full of vamps! LOLOL

Wahoo! Yes yes yes!

Y'all are the best! Again, thanks so much for joining!

Heya Arc da Rat! So glad to have ya hop aboard! I've been wanting to try this again for the longest time, wasn't sure anyone else would be interested in it though. I seriously think it'll make a fabulous playground. I've read all the books save one, Bloody Bones of all things. I'm still on the hunt for that one. In my humble opinion, each one is better than the last.

Are you wanting to protray Jason and Asher? Or did I read that wrong? Actually, I think both would be a blast. I adore the character of Jason. He's just too much fun. And Asher.. if one could lust after a literary character, He'd be the one. That whole tragic/tortured thing gets me everytime. Heh. You really should check out that first webpage I posted, the webmistress there did a whole page devoted to each and every character in the books as well as doing her own take of what their apperances would be. Fabulous graphic work, no doubt.

Lady Kit, you almost make me feel guilty. Almost is the key word though. *L* If this thread pans out, I'd be willing to go at another with you on down the road and take some other character leaving Anita for you. Fair enough? :)

As for your other choice, it sounds absolutely marvelous! I love it!

Lacewing, not only just vamps, but were-folk as well. Course we don't have any were-folk, that is unless Arc is gonna lay claim to Jason. :) Thanks again for joining, we'll make sure your character sticks around for all the fun stuff!

Alrighty, I'm gonna be brainstorming for some sort of original storyline and will post either tonight or tommorrow. Cross me widdo heart. If noone else joins (*insert pleading puppy-dawg eyes here* Everyone is welcome, we don't bite. Well. Least not me, can't guarantee the others. *L*) I'll probably throw in some other characters in my posts.

I'll throw up a character descript on Anita as well in the next little bit.

Thanks again y'all! I appreciate each and everyone of ya! :)

Hey!
You cant start this without me!
I am utterly ignorant but a fast learner.
Mary I'm yours hon, just tell me where to go....

Actually, (sheepish grin) I alway wanted to be Jean-Claude, Asher & / or Jason's play-thing. For some reason Richard doesn't peak my intrest. Which is a good thing cos my best friend like Richard & one of the new out of town werewolf (I think its the Chinese guy but not sure).

I am thinking about playing another were, that acts as a body guard with Jason. I need to sort it all out in my mind. :D

"J'attendrai, patiemment, pour le commencement,ma petit."

Have you chosen a time frame where it will begin ??

After the writing of the books, or somewhere in between?

A counterpart to Jason sounds like a hoot, Arc!

Heya Ari! Welcome. :) hmmm.. if you want a pre-existing character, Richard could be fun. Or, perhaps an evil villain? grins You’re more than welcome to create an original character, only limited by your imagination! So that would make it virtually limitless for you, no? ;)

BB! Or should I say JC? ;) As for a time frame, I’m debating that at the moment, either after Narcissus in Chains or slightly before. Not sure if I want to play her as having the aurder i.e. incredibly heightened libido or not. Although in this forum, it could be quite fun. Heh. *L* Decisions, decisions. I'm extremely open to input/suggestions if you have any. Subtle hint there, eh?

I’ll start it all up tomorrow, er, make that later today. Give any stragglers a chance to jump in if they like.

I’ve included a character descript of Anita below. I tend to be slightly wordy so y’all will have to forgive me. Found a really cool pic as well - Luis Royo, gotta love his stuff.

http://alystin.homestead.com/files/JC-Anita-Rich.jpg

Name: Anita Katerine Blake

Race: Human

Occupation: Animator/Necromancer

Age: 26

Titles: Animator at Animators, INC. (Pretty much raises the dead for a living.)
Legal Vampire Executioner in three states.
Jean-Claude’s Human Servant (Probably not what you’re thinking. *L* A human servant is made by being give 4 marks of a master vampire, not necessarily bites. Anita has only received three as of yet from JC, but is still considered his human servant. Receiving the marks entails that the human lives as long as the vampire does and possesses his/her strength and stamina, without giving up the daylight. Wounds heal much more quickly and they can withstand greater levels of physical pain. They are linked to the vampire telepathically, but the vampire cannot 'roll their mind' anymore.)
Lupa of the Werewolf Thronnos Rokke Clan. (Lupa is a term used by the wolves to denote their female alpha leader, course she’s not really of the lycanthrope persuasion. She was chosen by the Ulfric, Alpha male/Ruler of the wolves, or at least that particular clan, aka Richard.)
Namir-Ra of the Wereleopard Blood-drinkers Clan. (Alpha female of the wereleopard pard. After Anita killed their Alpha male, Gabriel, a bad ~bad~ pussycat, the pard was left to their own devices with no leader. She stepped into that role due to a play on her conscience and was accepted by most of the group.)
Attached to RPIT (Regional Preternatural Investigation Team, Supernatural investigation division of the Police force.)
Part of a Triumvirate consisting of Anita, Jean-Claude and Richard (A triumvirate is a group of three preternatural creatures who combine their powers in order to create an even bigger whole. When the powers are combined, they create a unified force that is greater than the sum of the parts.)

Special Talents: Black belt in Judo, Kendo

Anita’s hair is black and curls right around the shoulders. Her blackish brown eyes attest to her Latin heritage. Her pale skin is from her father’s Germanic blood. She’s 10-foot tall and bulletproof, heh. Not really, but pretty much has the attitude for it. She’s approximately 5’3” in height, weighs ~110lbs and has extensive scarring from her previous escapades, the worst being at the bend of her left arm.

This sounds interesting and I have a small knowledge of Ms Blake, can I play?

I could be a vamps "human servant" up to no good?

Or where so ever else you see fit to put me, please, please, please?

Thread is up!

You can find the storyline thread here. :)

http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87640

K, here's a quick plot outline, if anyone has any questions, feel free to post them. Thanks to BB for helping me with this. :)

There has been some strange activity going on in St. Louis, stranger than usual that is. Random vampire attacks and also attacks of the were-cat persuasion. Jean Claude and Anita are implicated. Jean Claude suspect is obvious what with him being Master of the vamps, Anita's leopards are suspected highly of the were-attacks. Neither are guilty, but the stage has been set by someone from Jean Claude's past to enter with a wicked agenda of her own, hoping to weaken the bond between him and Anita.

Welcome Tantalizer..:) Wanna be a bad guy? I have a position of an evil were-pussycat (heh, tiger or panther most likely) or the human servant thing could work, only Master vamps have them, but it could work into the plot line well. Lemme know which you'd prefer. Thanks for joining!

Jean Claude

Known to his more intimate friends (and enemies) as “JC”. He now keeps himself busy as the “Master” vampire of St. Louis, tending the many businesses he owns outright and the several he owns under a false front.

Being a “master” vampire he has the unique ability to “call” an animal, his being the wolf family, (which includes the “were” family)

His physical appearance has been described as a “smooth, gliding cat when he moves, energy and grace contained waiting to explode” Standing 5 foot eleven inches, his dark black curling hair hangs shoulder length, framing his fine French features.

For most people, to look directly into his deep blue eyes is a final and often fatal mistake, reminding them of dark glittering jewels as he takes control of their minds and souls. He was “chosen” and given the “dark gift” at age 30 and holds that image as he was in his prime 400 years ago, the only flaws on his perfect body being a light set of scars across his back and a dark cross shaped scar on his chest

Jean Claude’s voice is another remarkable feature, a musical. deep timbre that matches the “sex appeal” his body exudes, a much necessary facet as he draws energy and power from sexual energies as well as the blood of his human victims.

Other special abilities (but not limited to)…levitation, hiding his true age, and the ability to remove the life force from vampires he has created.

In present day he makes the time to “court” Anita, jealously “protecting” her from the dangerous advances of the cities many occupants (dead or alive).

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

OK, my interpetation of Jean Claude, if it is acceptable I'll post to the thread, "ma petit"

And Thank You for creating this thread as well as letting me play.

:rose: :rose:

Natalia, a Vamp

I am Natalia, I was born in St Petersburg, in the time before the fall of the last Czar. I witnessed the coronation of Nikolai I. I saw the arrival of the monk Rasputin, and watched as he bewitched the beautiful Alexandra. I lived before the poor and hungry invaded the gilded halls of the palaces of Russia. Before the death of grace and elegance.

How can this be? My long midnight tresses show no silver. No wrinkle of age touches my smooth skin. My figure is still firm and lithe. Come close so you can get a better look. See, my cheek, so pale in the moonlight. My lips, so red and lush. Look into my eyes…so clear…so compelling…

I have lived many lives, and will live many more. I am Vampire, and you weak human, are my prey.

Richard

After talking to Mary about it I've opted to take Richard's part on this thread.
I'm pretty ignorant about the story but Mary has sent me lots of reading matter and I'll do my best to operate within the character.
I'll edit this into a more complete Bio after I've climbed the 'learning curve'.
I have a weak place in my heart for werewolves ever since Michael Landon played in I was A Teenage Werewolf!

OOC: My first post on the thread has been edited to correct the location of Night Moves. Please forgive the error.

Perhaps Natalia got some bad blood.

We now return you to our story....

Enter the Villianess

http://alystin.homestead.com/files/BelleM.jpg

Belle Morte aka Beautiful Death

Villianess extrodinaire. ;)

She is a 2000 year old Master Vampire who currently holds a position on the Vampire Council, i.e. the governing body of fang-faces. At one time both Jean-Claude was her lover. She misses him and is determined to have him back. She is of the line JC was created, a vampire that not only feeds off blood, but of lust as well - A succubus of sorts. Her beasts to call had been leopards, but as time grew, so did her talent, and now she is able to call all great cats, having a special affinity for a particular were-tiger.

“She is pale, dark-haired woman. Her face is like something carved of alabaster, with lips red and perfect, hair like the darkness of night, made into furred silk, falling around her perfection. Her eyes are pale brown, like dark honey.”

Hee sounds cool

Oh hey just so everyone knows.. I didn't make hanna to last. I just made a human charactor to see how lang she'll last as a human. Weather she becomes someone's lunch or whatever she's the wild child I made just to see what happens LOL

Greetings Belle Morte, should I bow in respect or just bring you something to nibble?

Thanks for the heads up Lacewing, I wasn't quite sure what to make of Hannah.

Hope you're both enjoying the thread as much as I am. I can't wait to see where we go.

Kit

NP kit, just thought everyone would like to know. I'm just flowing with the story and having fun along the way. After all it's all fun and games and how many times can I have a great death scean eh?
