OOC: Casting Call; Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter

Hey there. I'm wanting to start up a thread somewhat loosely based on the vampire hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Your choice of characters is only limited by your imagination; although, Anita and Edward are already claimed by default. Sorry charlies if that's who you were hoping for. There's tons more delerious delicious ones you can sink your teeth into, vampire or were-creature alike.

I'll expand more on the storyline when I have a bit better of an idea of the number of people that will be interested. Here's hoping that there's more than just myself and friend. Although, I'm sure that Anita and Edward could make quite a lush story of their own, I'm hoping for other playmates.

Can we us Charcters from the site you gave. Also if we make up our Charcters. Do all Vampiers have to be evil. I had an idea for a good vampire but never read the books . Let me know about eithere of those.

Yes, you are more than welcome to use the characters from the site. Those characters are the ones from the book. As for whether the vampires are good or evil, as I understand it, vampires at this time are now a recognized race with all the rights of citizenship. No one can kill them without just cause. So look upon them as you would human beings some are going to be good and some bad depending upon the personality.

“Just cause” is mostly a loose term. To those who linger just a wee bit outside the law, that could mean a whole gambit of things. A threat, look at the wrong person the wrong way. It all depends on your character and the situation.

Vamps can be kind, evil or indifferent. Kind again is a loose term. Its a bit difficult to imagine any creature 'kind' that sees you as food.

Anyway, Vamps are pretty much the going trend in society. There’s even people that volunteer to be their fodder, hoping to be ‘brought over’, wannabe vamps so to speak or just because the love the feeling. It is against the law for a vamp to taste/feed from an unwilling victim. That can get him/her decapitated, heart-ripped out right away. That’s the only way, besides burning them to ash and/or sticking them out in the sunlight that you can kill vamps. Little wooden stakes are very passé in this world. High-powered artillery and blades are preferred by most who hunt. Silver blades and bullets will harm a vamp, causing the wound to heal less quickly, like that of a human. Crosses are a useful deterrent, but only if you have the faith to back them up.

Silvered weapons, projectiles will kill were-creatures. Anything silver will hurt them actually, but the weapons will most definitely kill. Were-creatures include werewolves, wereleopards, wererats, werejustaboutanything. *L*

You can even be human if you want to. Heh. Feel free to use one of the characters from the site, or create your own. Only one request, No God-like powers, Super-strength for were and vamp alike is to be assumed, but no omni-potency if you know what I mean. No controlling others characters either, mainly cause it pisses me off.

Feel free to control your own to your hearts content, and you may assume some simple stuff of others, but there will be no instant hits or kills. All posts are to remain open-ended. This all may be really basic, I know most of you guys/gals know this already, but figured it would hurt to throw it in.

If you wish to tackle the roles of Richard or Jean-Claude, please pm or get in touch with me someway first. Oh yeah, and keep ooc in this thread please, I really hate when the story-thread gets all cluttered up.

It is not determined whether or not Edward is his real name. Ted Forrester is an alias that he uses for his 'normal' persona of bounty hunter. Edward is always armed unless someone takes it away from him, which needless to say is no easy task.

I'm waiting on Forrester to show back up. He's had some connection problems but says he'll be back sometime this weekend. shane grew up in a small town and was always the fun kid to be with doing odd things all the time....he had sleep overs sometimes but was always seen going in the house in the morning..like he didnt stay there.. was probably because..but unknown to the neighbors and everyone..that he slept int the woods with his parents being WereLynx and all..they just had the house in town for a cover since not many liked Werefolk..when shane hit 17 he left home to go through the trials and tasks of becomeing one of the pride and his pack...(wich leads him to where the game takes place hehe)
