OOC: Call of Cthulhu Casting and Discussion.

I would like to start a Cthulhu thread as I have just recently bought Chaosium's rp book based on it, would anyone care to participate? The book allows three time settings, 1890's 1920's and 1990's. Concensus would dictate where and when the setting would be. Anyone versed in the mythos would be greatly appreciated, as I am still fairly new to it.

I have a concept in mind, perhaps we could all be comming together in an old mansion for what we think will be one of those fancy murder mystery parties, only things really start getting strange. Anyone interested in participating?

Well I use to do the paper / pencil / dice RP-ing ... We did managed to find some of the H.P. Lovecraft books in print ... I got a few of those as a pressie for my GM ...

Abraxas, that IS the hallmark of Cthulhu, unless you play things really cautiously, you either die or go stark raving mad. But oh, the fun of going mad... LOL

BTW ~

I had the most sand pts by the end of the game and he most spells too ... Only reason why it ended ... the way the storeline was going everyone was going to end up dead ...

3D6 for str, dex, con, (will)pow(er), app(earance)

2D6+6 for int and siz(e)

3D6+3 for edu(cation)

San(ity) is your pow x5

Int x5 for idea

Pow x5 for luck

Edu x5 for Knowledge

Give me the sum of str+siz so that I can give you your damage bonus.

Devide Con+Siz by two for your hit points.

Magic points equal to pow

Here's where it may get a little tricky for you all, think of an occupation and then list up to eight skills relevant to that occupation. Edu x20 = the total in % you can place among those skills, nothing can be more than 99%

Int x10 = the total % you can use to round your characters knowledge out as personal interest skills. Again, nothing more than 99%

Your minimum age is your Edu score +6

You can be older if you like, and for each 10 years older than 40 you make your character, you get to increase your Edu by 1, but must subtract one from str, con, dex, OR app.

I hope that is clear enough.

And I was personally leaning toward this thread being in the 1990's, unless any of you would prefer an earlier year?
