Bloodstone is based in a haunted house set on a small isolated island. The entire island is the property and grounds of the house.
Players are humans trapped by a storm that has washed out the road. It has also uprooted an old oak tree on the grounds. Under the roots of the tree are revealed human remains, the only clue as to the owners identity is a bloodstone ring. At that time strange things begin to happen in the house and the surrounding grounds.
The place is riddled with hidden doors, cellars, rooms, attics etc. The aim would be that the players have to find who/what/why/where/how the person died, and the ghost of the dead person is trying to help them so that their spirit can be avenged.
I am the Ghost(s?) and another player is the murderer, but the murderer will act just like another player pretending to be trying to solve the mystery.
It is late 1800's so power and telephone have only just been invented, and unavailable in this area, so cant call for help, and forensic analysis is pretty difficult to say the least..
You are a human guest in a newly purchased and not fully rennovated mansion home turned hotel/inn.
You have been invited as a special guest because you have been here before.
Ten years before, you attended a party in this very same home. A Party that was to celebrate the coming of age of the Dukes daughter, Laura Charlesworth. During the week of merriment a number of strange occurances took place and the daughter mysteriously disappeared. Not long after, the Duke also disappeared and the house was abandoned - until now.
Use your detective skills, try to unveil the murderer, and figure out the story.
This thread is open to all, but PLEASE let me know who you are here before posting in the main thread. No were-creatures, vampires, zombies or magic allowed.
I have created a website http://www.nosedown.com/bloodstone/bloodstone.htm which, as the story progresses, will help you keep track of the clues, players, locations and so on. Check it often as new clues will be revealed there. Just click on the invisible guy who I'll keep him in my signature for your convenience. http://www.nosedown.com/bloodstone/images/invisibleguy.gif
