OOC: Aquarian Age

First of all, I know holiday seasons are killer on threads but I'm in need of some creative writting and I have tons of fun doing so here.

I would like to take a trip into the world of Aquarian Age. There's a spiffy manga set there, Juvenile Orion, along with a card game and an anime (though I've not seen it yet).

Beneth the outter calm of our everyday world, five seperate factions fight for power in magical battles, aided or destroyed by those without factions under the control of people known as mind breakers.

The Factions:
E.G.O. aka the Evolutional Girls Organization"
They claim to be a new kind of race with psychic abilities and have risen to unite the other three factions on earth. Unlike the other factions, they have taken modern science and medicine in to thier magical realm and integrate with both rather well.

Arayashiki, aka "A'ki"
With the powers of the gods and nature on thier side, they use thier own spiritual powers as a catalyst for thier spells. Arayashiki is the federation that the Eastern spell casters created.

Wiz-Dom
Born in the West, the forbidden art of "magic" has been passed down through generations despite facing much persecution. The secret organization created by these magic users is Wiz-Dom. Many members of this oragnization are part of the priesthood, though thier demonination varies from Catholic to Baptist to Mormon, and any other Christian faith.

Darklore
Legendary descendants of various species that ruled the earth during ancient times. This includes "evil" dark lords, demons, oni, and worse. They are loathed by the other factions, seen as evil and filthy animals that live only for slaughter.

Eraser
This space crew of aliens suddenly appeared from the outer world. Thier merciless attacks on the Earth's four powers earned them the name "Eraser." Angelic in appearance with wings from thier backs as well as from thier temporal region (head wings), they wreck havok in the name of delivering a "Trial from Heaven."


The Factionless:
Those without faction, who are not under the rule of their respective faction, fall under the rule of Mind Breakers. Many under the control of MB's have left thier factions after being mind breaked (bad english I know but it makes sense).
MB's can be any gender, any age, but vary in how they attract and break thier "protectors" or servants, depending on the relationship. Most manage only a few people, often from the same initial faction. The higher the MB's powerlevel the more varied warrior he/she can call to thier cause. The most powerful MB's can call from each faction.
E.G.O and A'ki are most often found with mind breakers, followed by Wiz-dom. Most MB's won't have anything to do with Darklores given thier reputation and the fact that if there isn't love involved they'll try to turn on the MB who's claimed them. Erasers are nearly impossible to mindbreak, often causing the death of the MBer and themselves if there's a failure.



I'm thinking a modern city, perhaps San Francisco, as a base of opporations for this thread.
Current idea involves a good vs evil set up, with me NPC'ing what doesn't get picked up.

No prob:

World- Modern world, at least on the surface and as far as the normal humans knows.
It is only in secret chambers and protective circles that the factions gather together, each strongly loyal to thier own.
Standard world with a hidden realm most never see, the realm of the Aquarian Age, fortold by the top seerer of each of the Four Earthly Factions, EGO, A'ki, WizDom, and Darklore. What the Erasers know is questionable because they don't talk to other factions, they just kill them. On sight. Rather messily. Trail from heaven and all that jazz.


Storyline- Few major cities house members from each Earthly Faction, San Francisco being one of them. I'll post who's where probably tommorow night (have family visiting at my house so can't spend massive amounts of time on my computer).
The Erasers have decided to start visiting thier Trails from Heaven upon the city's factions, randomly striking as they find people.
Two known mindbreakers have joined forces against these attacks and are the only ones to have fought off the Erasers successfully with the aid of thier warriors.

Stories from Japan tell of a mindbreaker managing to fight off a group of Erasers as a young child with only her darklore to aid her. The stories are often disbelieved due to the fact they claim the Dark Lord Bael has returned, a disaster waiting to happen if he doesn't love his mindbreaker. But, they've been sighted in San Francisco, so perhaps the stories are true (They'll be NPC's).


So, I need the two SF native Mindbreakers and thier warriors. They've allied only because its safer in numbers against the Erasers and its an uneasy alliance at best. It was brought together by the EGO components of each group.

My two characters, the main NPC's so to speak:

Mana Kirihara
Mind Breaker
Age: 22
Height: 5'4"
Hair: pale brown, almost blond but not quite, brushes her shoulders
Eyes: Hazel

Japanese native who's come to SF to go to UC San Francisco for thier Medical (doctor) program. Speaks pretty good English, tolerable French and of course perfect Japanese.
She is the mindbreaker rumored to have driven off an attacking contingent of Erasers, a rare feat indeed. The fact that she did it at the age of 6 with only her Darklore makes it even more amazing.
Her group of "mind breakee's" includes: 2 EGO's, 1 A'ki, 1 Darelore (Kaname), 1 Wiz-dom and 1 Eraser. She may aquire more but for the time being she's happy with her group, Orion.
Occasionally a little weepy, she firmly believes in her Orion and leads her group with love and determination to rid the world of sorrow. Hence why she's becoming a doctor- to help others (plus the pay's nice).

Kaname Kusakabe
Darklore, Reencarnation of the Evil God Bael (supressed personality)
Age: 22
Height: 5'9"
Hair: black, longish bangs and spikey, think Van from Escaflowne

Japanese native who's traveled to the US with his Mind Breaker, Mana, since she's bound and determained to leave Japan to study abroad. So he pulled himself a basketball scholarship to the University of SF and is enrolled in the Information Security and Assurance program there.
Very dark and a man of few words, he's the silent strength behind Mana. Kind of like a dog at his master's heel, ready to destroy anything that threatens her.
Bael- the formally dead Lord of Demons, he planted a seed in one of his followers and it has come to fruition in Kaname. However, Mana is more powerful then Bael's seed and so controls when the demon lord is released, which is only in the bloodiest of battles.
Both Bael and Kusakabe love Mana, for differing reasons, and would give thier lives for her if needed.
Has two alternate forms- one that's human with black bat-like wings large/strong enough to carry him and Mana in flight. The second is his true Darklore form, horns like a ram's, fur from the waist down ending in cloven hooves and wings. Think a sayter with wings on steroids without the overwhealming sex drive.

I may bring in others from Mana's group, Orion, if needed but I don't think they will be. Kaname-kun can handle quite a bit on his own with Mana to back him and release Bael.

Ooo Vixie ... I Juvenile Orion ... Are we using the characters in the Manga as well, are they gonna be NPCs or just using the world w/o inter acting w/ they characters from the manga???
