OOC: Another Superhero League thread?

Ok here is the deal, I've been thinking for awhile now about starting a new Superhero League thread.

For those who don't remember or are too new here, the Superhero League thread was started in early August by Weapon X and was the thread where many of todays more expierenced posters(me, RoseThorn, Phoenix, Kepic)had gotten started. It was meant as a kinda Mystery Men type series that became kinda serious towards the end but was still alot of fun. It's been followed by a sequel and a few spin off threads since then.

Now, I've been planning out a third thread in the series for awhile, but haven't started it for a reason. The last one was pretty small with only 5 regulars(two of which don't post much anymore)sticking in as others came and left. This might have been bad timing, or maybe it was simply that there was not much interest in the series anymore. So before I decide on if I should start the thread or not, I was wondering what interest there was in the concept?

You could post here if you're interested in the thread and we can perhaps use this for recruitment. I encourage anybody interested in Superhero threads to consider joining this. It's open to just about any kind of characters. Even characters that exist from comics can be used although I'd prefer original characters.

Right now I'm being cautious on what to start since it's been like two months since I've started a new RP thread and I don't want my first comeback attempt to be a flop.

P.S. If I do decide to start this thread, give me a week or two to get it started. A poster who I know would be interested in this is having health problems and will need some time to get over them before he can post.

Also, in the last one there weren't many villians(there were only three, and I was playing them all! lol). So once we get a better idea of how many people will join, we can try and split the hero/villian ratio down the middle somewhat.

We can never have enough superhero's. You know I can't resist my favorite character, he's always in on the good stuff.
I was wondering though, since you said you were going to start the thread, does that mean you are setting up a plot for it as well? I believe if we have all these superheros and villans we need some sort of plot structure to follow.

Phoenix, I was talking about the second one that had me and RoseThorn getting together and KillerMuffin playing... well Muffin. Very original huh? Oh wait... my guys named Renegade... nevermind.

Poohlive, would I let you down? Uh... don't answer that. lol But I do have a basic story idea that I've run by RoseThorn and talked with Phoenix about briefly awhile back in an OOC thread. Basicly, it follows the thing with my characters alter ego Kronos finding a new body. The body he finds is the body of an old supervillian from the 70's that was never popular but had psychic powers. Those psychic powers allows Kronos to unlock his full potential that he couldn't do in Renegade because Ren's powers were not the kinda he could use. Because of this, he goes on a killing spree basicly wipping out just about all the heros and villians that he can find. On purpose, he spares people like Ren, Shadowess, JayDen(we just know he'll be there lol), and S-Man because of their involvment with him in the past. At the same time, he spares certain villians(we need atleast 3 I think)to help carry out his dirty work. And some of the other heros get away as well. I'll be playing Renegade, the psychic guy Kronos takes over(not decided on name yet), and I'm thinking another hero that has connections to that guy that Kronos takes over. I hope for this to be more epic then the last two but also have a sense of comedy like the first did. That sound good? I'd like any input on what could improve things before we get started.

Great responce from everyone so far. I'm hoping to get certain posters like Kepic, Dirk13, Nightray, or Roland Gilliad to join in if they would like. RoseThorn is in, but computer problems will keep her away untill friday at the earliest. Still have room for more if anyone else is interested.

Phoenix, you're starting to realy frighten me man. lol Those do sound like some very interesting ideas though. If I had to choose, I'd go with Creepers twin. You're style is close enough to Gypsyprinces version of Creeper to work. It's gonna be weird seeing you in a Superhero thread as anyone other then JayDen though.

And I'll decide how many villians we need once we get a good idea of how many heros we have. So I'd like for anyone interested to post about wether they'd want to be a hero or villian so that I know. And if you can, post your characters profile here. Hmmm need to go dig up my info on Ren and Kronos and work on that new guy. I'll be two heros and a villian.

I'm going to be bringing up the first two Superhero League threads for those who missed them to read up on. This way, anyone that wishes to read up on the originals for an idea of what's happened will be able to. Neither had a real ending though as they both moved on till they died out. I hope to give this one a beggining middle and end like I was able to do with my Star Wars thread(anyone else tired of hearing me talk about that thread? well I'm proud of it since it lasted longer then any other thread and actualy had an ending to it so there! lol).

P.S. Great line up, but we need more women for this thread. So far we just have three and I'd like to atleast get two more to join this.

Magic and sorcery is definatly allowed. Actualy, my character Kronos is more based on that then any sci-fi type setting. And I can think of atleast two other characters from the past threads that can fit that bill pretty much. It's up to each person to decide on if they want to be a hero or villian.

From what I can tell, we have 12 people in for this thread. So I would like atleast 4 people to play villians other then myself. And I was going to send an email to you yesterday Neal, but the board went down last night again. If you could take a villian role, I'd realy appreciate it but a hero part is just as good.

Isolde, that would be great if you can play both. If you would prefer to just be one though, I'd prefer a villian since the other girls are good so far(unless LavaGoddesss wants her Lava character to be bad for once? usualy she's good.).

Teresafannin, I'd prefer Wind Song to be a hero since I'd prefer for the thread to stay along the continuity of the last two threads. Great to have you back with us.

I'll probably be starting it during the next week. Probably tuesday at the earliest and friday at the latest. I'll let you all know for sure after I get some things straightened out with the basic plot I have in mind.

To add an explaination to my post on the original thread, here is the story.

After the first few battles with the league The Blue Eagle was kidnapped by a former villina known as Baron Hell. After escaping after nearly a month with the help of his daughter the Baron descovered us hiding with a camp of local refugess, The Baron sent out an all of war on his own daughter and I. We escaped for a while and were married. Hell eventually cought up to up and layed a bomb in my mansion after torturing a former arms dealer for my identity. The bomb killed my wife and left me broken and torn. I spent most of the past year rehabilitating and seeking my vengence. Now known as

Ok everyone, I'm planning for this thread to get started sooner then later. Work on your characters, and post your profiles here for the time being if you'd like.

Also, I have been asked if the villians would be working on their own or working under my guy. What I have planned out here, is that when the thread starts, every hero and villian do not know each other other then those that knew each other from the old threads(WindSong, Ren, Shadowess, etc). It is up to the creators of the characters on if the villians join Kronos or use the opportunity to wreck their own havoc. I think we need more villians(like two more should work)but we have a good line up right now.

Also, bare with me for the beggining. This thread is gonna be bigger then I thought. At first, it might be hard for everyone to work right into the story. But if given time to straighten things out, this should work.
