Thought I'd start this as the main thread is getting a bit side tracked :)

Just want to get a character up date as things could get a little confusing.

Vinnie (Steiner): Mob guy, working to get the drugs back for his boss.

Matt Danger (dr_mabeuse): P.I sent to try and get the drugs on the cheap

Helena Green (English Rose): Undercover cop, first major assignment

Heather Andrews (Shadi): Innocent party generally being chased by everyone else for the drugs

Cassie Bernhart (CassieB): Good time girl, out for herself

______________________________

CassieB hasn't posted for a while, if she still wants to she is more than welcome and I've pm'd her along those lines, if she doesn't I would like to put a casting call out for her newly evolved character.

There's a bit of confusion about what should or shouldn't be happening, but from my pov, the way things are going I think I'm heading out the door, for the sake of convenience and to keep the thread interesting.

I would like to get everyone more involved, it's mainly just myself and drM at the moment with the others kind of filling in the gaps and thats not what I want for any char, there's loads of ways this can play out and a lot of fun to be had along the way, I would like to add a couple more people in a bit but I want to get all of this sorted before I do that

This is the first time a thread of mine has kicked off so I'm reluctant to let it die, call me stubborn if you must :)

I won't post my reactions till everyone else has had a chance to read this so post your thoughts here or pm me if you have an idea you might not want to share just yet, the element of surprise should keep everyone on their toes :p

I'm still onboard... <grin>

Holding for you to make your move.

Much as I want to post, I'm going to give everyone a chance to reply, it's hardly fair otherwise.

Name of the Game

I think the only reason we haven't got more players is that the title of the thread is perhaps a little...er...dull.
No way we could change it to something like those old stroke paperbacks used to have? Like "Sin-town Set-up!" or "The Love Drug" or "Double-crossing Sex-town Sinners" or "My Rod was Hot"?

"Shoot Out At The Love-Drug Sex Orgy" has a classy ring to it.;)

Seriously, though, this is my first RPG and I don't even know what it's supposed to be like. I'm just grabbing all the stuff I can get. Matt is headed back to his office where Helena has taken some of the drug, so that should get her involved again. Or Vinnie can get to her first, then i suppose we've got to track down the invisible Cassie, whose identity I hijacked in order to frame her. I think that's got some potential. I'm up for some violence and Satanism. (Heck, who isn't?)

Shadi, how did you expect this would go? Just more people doing more things? Is that the way most RPG's go?

well to be honest i was starting to feel like a bit of a fill-in actor*L* I am quite happy to be involved more...get things moving..see how it all progresses!

This is my first forray into this rpg thing too and really I don't know what i should be doing or how..I'm just trying to piece things together as I go!*L* I am really enjoying it though..i fin it challenging!

Anyway...basically Helena is ready and raring to go!*L* I just need someone to bring me in the loop a bit more...

There doesn't seem to be any set pattern for how an SRP goes - I've been involved in ones that were heavily sexed from the second or third post, and I'm involved in one long running one where I still haven't gone any further than a few significant looks.

I do agree with Shadi, we need to grab the bit players (myself and English Rose especially) and get them more involved. The best way to do so is to put us in a position where we are writing opposite another writer. HOW we do this, I don't know. Any suggestions?

I mean interacting with another writer, as opposed to writing huge chunks of prose on their own. Helena's character is a classic example - we had four characters in close physical proximity, and yet Helena was a fly on the wall, hardly referenced by the other three of us at all.

Personally I feel like I'm writing Vinnie too relexively - he's reacting to what's going on, but not making any of the running himself.

Well, I fully admit to a bad and chronic case of loggorhea. I'm just a writing fool ;)

I do see your point though. Noty only have I been writing huge chunks of sex &c, but I'm afraid I kind of grabbed the plot and ran with it. Sorry. But no one else was, so...

Still, it's kind of interesting now, isn't it?

I know what Steiner means, but from the frequency of the posts here, I don't know if we ever have enough people on line at one time to do anything like dialogue or quick exchanges. I don't want to ask "What was that noise?" and have to wait a day and a half to find out!
