OOC A question....?

I know this is a roleplay section but tell me has anyone ever tried something on the stratefy leve? Like commanding platoons or Ships could be fun......give me input. What do people like to play and are not getting?

I had a full blown war thread up for a while. Did fairly well for one of the threads I started. In the end holidays came up, I'm not much of a gm here, and we were all over the place so it died.

That was the first thread where vehicle combat was common that I saw in two years. Although I believe the star wars thread might have some to.

For a change of pace i suggest posting your idea.

That is interesting. Tell me about the war rp that you ran. I was thinking of some Pulp hero advenures like the British Army fighting on Mars or American Marines fighting in the streets of Atlantis during the age of Steam. I will see how the mercenary thread goes. I hope more join up for the fight.

Well it was set in mars at the near future. about 100 to 300 years depending on how fast our technology advances. Comunications could only be messages, and not conversations, as the speed of light was a cap for it's speed. Ship moved much slower then the speed of light.

The war had ground battle and air battle and space battle so it was all over the place. Each player had there own character ofcoarse and in some cases more then one and they were devided evenly between the sides.

I am not really in the mood to do sci-fi persay but maybe an alternative world. Perhaps aliens encountering the Mongols? Or a sci-fi world where ancient battles are fought so they can be wagered on. I love the Age of Sail. Players could each command a ship-of-the-line.
