I would say the most important thing is a good personality and sense of homour (k 2 things 
).
Can't have much of an online (or offline for that matter) relationship if you don't get along with someone and a decent joke or somethin funny is always a great icebreaker

I have found myself in an online relationship.....although it has slightly grown from there.
I met her playing spades.
for several weeks, we would meet online latenight and play spades as partners and carry on via IM.
After a month or so, she gave me her home phone#.
This was about a year ago....Hmmmm...maby more now???
We chat on the phone about once every 3 or 4 days.
Often our conversations get very steamy as we work ourselves into a state of mutual satisfaction.
I have posted pics of myself online that she has seen, but to this day I have no idea what she looks like, other than the way she has verbally described herself to me.
Am I CRAZY???
I dont think so, we both benefit from our interactions as limited as they may be. She has spoken about supprising me with a visit several times. I am in NH and she is in CO.
Thats it for me and my online experiances.

He has to be able to come up with a really hot, sexy pic that he can say is him! For me, online relationships (that only stay online) are simple fantasy - and why not engage in thinking the other person totally hot?
Eh, I guess I'll stick with what I've got in real life. At least he's more comfortable to snuggle up to than a computer monitor! And, most important, he doesn't lie!
