Having tried to post a petition on Avaaz, i have to say, its fucking shit, suspiciously fucking shit. something like being run by a small bunch of middle class wankers trying to be down with the 'hood.

My petition has been dragged down by issues such as , attempted posters being told 'petition closed' 'petition unavailable' and the no problem. some people have signed - but their signatures dont appear.

so is Avaaz just a fuck up? politics, remember, is not about reality - its about perception.

Is avaaz just a smokescreen by the rulers?

Have monsanto infiltrated Avaaz?

Does the palace stay the same? have the guards chenged?

could you be arsed posting a pol about fucking Avaaz in the knowledge that its just a piece of shit?

I also emailed Avaaz technical helpline.. guess what? two weeks on and no reply.

total bollocks of a site.

get in the clique and you can email about gautamalan postal stamps and tibetan snow herders... try to post from outside of the clique....

IMHO change.org is quite a useful site. It seems to give the general populace a more direct way of create the change they desire compared voting on a general political program.

I signed up sean under his real name without difficulty.

And got butters deets thanks to her pointing out her having signed.

Great site.

More than likely you are now on someone's radar as a possible fomenter of trouble and quite possibly a domestic terrorist.

Easy to label one that way.

The police in one of towns near me labelled some teenagers that way when they knocked off some homeowners mailbox. (I know, unrelated, but its that easy for official types to invoke maximum authority)

Good job announcing yourself.

Or you just put yourself on some bullshit mailing list.

Well they did destroy government property.

I cant recommend Avaaz since I've never actually signed one of their petitions but I'm constantly signing ones from the likes of Change.org, SumofUs and 38 degrees.

I wouldnt recomend avaaz at all - like other posters have said, their are other better run sites.

For the record Avaaz dont even respond to technical emails.
